Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell took seven carries for 62 yards and failed to catch his lone target in Sunday's 10-27 loss to the New York Giants. D'Andre Swift (illness) was ruled out early on Sunday, leaving the 24-year-old as the starter for the final game of the regular season. Gainwell looked good early but was not given the ball much after the team fell behind. The Eagle's offense was in disarray, with all of their top skills players injured either before or during the game, leading to a disappointing performance for everyone involved. Swift should be good to go next week when the Eagles travel to Tampa to take on the Buccaneers, leaving Gainwell off most managers' fantasy radars in DFS and tournaments.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell figures to draw the start in the backfield on Sunday in the team's Week 18 regular season finale against the New York Giants with lead back D'Andre Swift (illness) expected to be inactive. Swift was a late addition to the team's injury report this week, and with the Eagles needing a Washington Commanders win over the Dallas Cowboys (which is unlikely) to win the NFC East division, they figure to rest some of their key contributors on both sides of the ball this weekend. Swift being out will make Gainwell more attractive as a low-cost DFS option in the final game of the regular season, although he, too, could eventually be rested on Sunday in favor of Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny as Philly looks to get healthy for the first round of the playoffs next weekend.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell will go on the road to take on the New York Giants in Week 18. Top back D'Andre Swift (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's season finale but will likely be good to go. Gainwell would become the No. 1 back was Swift to miss and become a solid flex option. However, if Swift is active, the 24-year-old backup will not see enough work to be fantasy-relevant. While Gainwell has been more involved on passing downs as of late, he averaged just 6.3 touches per game over the past month. Swift gets the majority of carries, while quarterback Jalen Hurts scores the majority of goal-line touchdowns via the Brotherly Shove. Gainwell will only be a viable flex for those in need if Swift were to miss.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell had a quiet game in the 35-31 upset loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17. He finished the Week 17 contest with only two carries for five yards while catching all four of his targets in the passing game for 15 yards. It came despite playing a team-high 53 percent of the offensive snaps. Backfield mate D'Andre Swift played 47 percent of the snaps and had a team-high 13 carries for 61 yards, adding a five-yard reception. The highlight for the 24-year-old Gainwell was completing the first pass of his career, a 17-yard hookup with receiver DeVonta Smith. Gainwell just isn't seeing enough volume as a complementary back behind Swift to be fantasy relevant on a weekly basis, but he could get more run in the Week 18 regular season finale against the New York Giants if the Eagles decide to rest Swift and some of the other starters.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell rushed two times for 26 yards and caught two of his three targets for 10 yards in the Week 12 win over the Buffalo Bills. Gainwell remains the clear No. 2 running back behind D'Andre Swift, so he's far from a reliable fantasy option. However, the 24-year-old should continue to be stashed as a high-upside fantasy handcuff running back. If Swift has to miss any time down the stretch, Gainwell could be propelled to the No. 1 RB role in one of the league's best offenses.

Oct 23 8:40am CT

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell took eight carries for 16 yards and a touchdown during the team's 31-17 win over the Miami Dolphins. The eight carries were the most the 24-year-old had seen since Week 3 against Tampa Bay, but he was highly inefficient with them, averaging just two yards per carry. To his credit, Gainwell had an impressive run in the red zone, shaking off multiple tackles on his way to his first touchdown of the season. However, there is no real fantasy value to look forward to on a weekly basis. Gainwell is a handcuff at the moment and should be considered nothing more unless D'Andre Swift suffers an injury. Gainwell should be off the fantasy radar during the Eagles rematch with the Washington Commanders next week.
