Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith set franchise records this season in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown for a tight end. Smith finished the season with 88 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.

Fantasy Spin: Smith was a breakout player in fantasy leagues this season and should be a valuable option in leagues next season. He should be considered a weekly starting option in all leagues next season.

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith caught nine of 12 targets for 56 yards in their 32-20 season finale loss to the New York Jets. Smith was a huge bright spot for the Dolphins offense in the second half of the season after Tua Tagovailoa returned from his discussion. In the postgame press conference, he admitted that players were watching the scoreboard and saw the Denver Broncos pummeling the Kansas City Chiefs, crushing their playoff hopes. With the 29-year-old on a one-year deal, his future with the Dolphins is uncertain, but his performance and reliability can't go unnoticed. If he returns to Miami next season, he will surely be a top TE option for fantasy drafts in 2025.

Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith caught nine of his 12 targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in a 32-20 loss to the New York Jets in Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: Smith roared past his previous career highs in both receptions and receiving yards, emerging as a one of the best fantasy options at the tight end position.

Jan 4 10:10am ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith remains an appealing fantasy option ahead of Sunday's Week 18 contest against the New York Jets. There are many moving parts ahead of the Dolphins' regular-season finale, including the injury statuses of key offensive weapons such as Tua Tagovailoa (hip), Jaylen Waddle (knee), and Tyreek Hill (wrist, illness). As it stands, Tagovailoa is expected to be sidelined, leaving Tyler Huntley as the Dolphins' starting quarterback for the second week in a row. Smith saw a significantly reduced target share with Huntley under center last week, catching three of four targets for 26 yards. He had his lowest target total, reception total, yardage total, and snap share since Week 10. However, he managed to snag a touchdown pass in the win, salvaging his fantasy performance and giving him seven consecutive games with double-digit fantasy points (PPR). He ranks as the overall TE4 this season, and while the insertion of Huntley under center does lower Smith's ceiling and floor, we still view the 29-year-old tight end as a top-eight fantasy option at his position heading into Week 18.

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith hit pay dirt against the Cleveland Browns, hauling in a game-clinching touchdown to cap a day with three catches and 26 yards in the Dolphins' 20-3 win at Cleveland. All things considered, it wasn't a bad day for the veteran tight end, who saw a major downgrade at quarterback with Tua Tagovailoa (hip) unable to play, thrusting backup Tyler Huntley into a must-win game. Bad weather and two backup quarterbacks led to ugly offensive football on both ends, but Smith still scratched out some fantasy value with Miami's lone receiving touchdown. He ended up being one of the best fantasy values at any position this year, and will conclude the regular season Sunday at the New York Jets.

Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith caught three of his four targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in a 20-3 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: With Tyler Huntley under center, Smith didn't have the numbers fantasy owners have become accustomed to from the tight end. Fortunately, he salvaged an otherwise quiet game with a touchdown.

Dec 29 1:30pm ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith becomes a risky TE1 with Tua Tagovailoa (hip) listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Since Week 11, Smith has averaged a stellar 19.8 PPR points per game. Over this span he has tallied 75.8 yards and 7.2 receptions per game. However, Smith could be due for a drop in production, especially if his QB1 cannot suit up. During Weeks 3 through 5, where Tagovailoa did not play, Smith averaged a mere 26.7 yards and 2.3 receptions per game. While fantasy managers in deeper formats may not have an alternative, he should be faded in DFS formats given the uncertainty under center. The entire Miami offense could struggle in this contest which will greatly limit his overall ceiling. He is a low-end TE1 with risk.

Dec 27 6:20pm ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith has had the best season of his career and has become one of the most crucial pieces to the offense. Since Week 8, Smith has been the TE1 and is fifth in touchdowns on the year. Week 17 presents a matchup with the Cleveland Browns, who rank 11th in fantasy points and 12th in yards per game to opposing tight ends. To make matters worse, there is a 50% chance of rain and 25+ mph winds projected in Cleveland at kickoff. However, we've seen him beat less-than-ideal conditions and be a safety blanket for Tua Tagovailoa. Start him as a solid TE1 in the championship week. He comes in as RotoBaller's TE6 in the Week 17 rankings.

Dec 23 10:10am ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith caught all six of his targets for 62 yards in the 29-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16. Smith was again as solid as he has been since Tua Tagovailoa returned in Week 8. This is the tenth time he has seen six or more targets and the sixth time he has cracked 60 receiving yards in a game this season. The only downside in this game was his two-game touchdown streak being snapped. With Miami still fighting to make the playoffs, the last two remaining games will be meaningful, and Smith should be a heavy part of the game plan. He will travel to take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 17.

Dec 22 11:03pm ET

Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith caught all six of his targets for 62 yards in a 29-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16.

Fantasy Spin: It was another solid performance for Smith, and at this point, it is a surprise when he doesn't put up strong numbers. Smith has been one of the best waiver additions of the season, and he is likely going to finish as a top-five fantasy option at the tight end position.

From TheHuddle

Dec 21 10:10am ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith has been one of the most consistent players in all fantasy football over the last several weeks. The 29-year-old is ranked as the TE4 and has seen incredible volume down the stretch. He has touchdowns in four of the previous five games and eight or more targets in four of the last five. However, Week 16 presents a difficult matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, who have been stout against tight ends. They rank 2nd in fantasy points allowed to tight ends per game and allow the least yards per game to the position. With linebacker Dre Greenlaw questionable, that could present even more problems for Smith. With the injuries to Tyreek Hill (wrist/personal) and Jaylen Waddle (knee), Smith should command plenty of looks this week. He is still a TE1 and should be started in all formats. He ranks as the TE4 in the Week 16 RotoBaller rankings.

Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith caught nine of his 11 targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in a 20-12 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: Smith continued his hot streak, and he now has five touchdowns in the last five games. He has become one of the best fantasy options at the tight end position.

Dec 15 7:40pm ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith caught nine of 11 targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in the 20-12 Week 15 loss to the Houston Texans. The touchdown came from seven yards out on a beautiful throw from Tua Tagovailoa in the back of the endzone. Smith continues to be one of the most reliable tight ends in 2024, with his fifth game in a row with 13+ PPR fantasy points. This also marks the fourth time in the last five games that he has scored a touchdown. He now ranks as the TE4 overall and is a premier option for the fantasy football playoffs. Week 16 presents a matchup against a now-healthy San Francisco 49ers defense.

Dec 14 12:00pm ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith has been one of the best tight ends in the 2024 season. The 29-year-old has seen career highs in targets, receptions, and yards. Smith has contributed heavily to Miami winning four of their last five games. This week, he gets a matchup against a Houston Texans defense that has been stingy, allowing fantasy points to tight ends. They allow the third-fewest yards and the least receptions per game to opposing tight ends. Despite this, Smith has been too consistent for any fantasy manager to leave him on the bench. Miami has struggled defensively as of late and may need to throw a ton in this game to have a chance. He should still expect to see plenty of looks; he should be started in all formats. He comes in as RotoBaller's TE5 in this week's rankings.

Dec 8 9:00pm ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith caught three of four targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in Week 14's 32-26 overtime victory over the New York Jets. His touchdown grab to seal the victory came from 10 yards out on a beautiful touchball by Tua Tagovailoa. Smith went into the contest on an absolute tear. His averages in the previous three games were 10 targets, 8.3 receptions, and 100.3 yards per game. That was on top of scoring three touchdowns in that same span. Smith has quickly emerged as one of the top tight ends in fantasy football and should be a vital part of the Dolphins offense for the remainder of the season. Week 15 presents a road matchup with the Houston Texans.

Dec 8 8:23pm ET

Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith ended up with three receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown on four targets in Week 14 against the New York Jets.

Fantasy Spin: Smith was on his way to a disastrous day, as he didn't have a reception in regulation. However, he more than made up for it in overtime, including the walk-off touchdown. He has been a steady low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues. The Dolphins travel to meet the Houston Texans in Week 15.

Dynasty | Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith had ten catches for 113 yards in the Dolphins loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving. Dynasty Analysis: There have been a lot of disappointments on the Miami roster this year, but Smith hasn't been one of them. He now has 25 catches on 30 targets for 301 yards and three touchdowns over the past three weeks, making him a must-start TE1 moving forward. With career highs in catches and yards already, Smith's dynasty value is on the rise, despite him being 29.

Nov 29 1:10pm ET

Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith caught 10 of 11 targets for 113 yards in their 30-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Smith continues to draw plenty of opportunities early and often from Tua Tagovailoa. He led the team in targets, receptions, and yards in Thursday's loss. The 29-year-old looks like a solidified TE1 and has returned significant value to fantasy managers who grabbed him off the waiver wire. Smith now ranks as the TE3 overall, behind only Brock Bowers and George Kittle. Next week, he will get a matchup at home against the New York Jets, who have struggled mightily against tight ends.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 1:53am ET

Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith set game highs in targets (11), receptions (10), and yards (113) against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday, Nov. 28. Smith did have a fumble, but it rolled out of bounds.

Fantasy Spin: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Skepticism reigned after Smith put up 15 receptions, 188 yards, and 3 TDs in Weeks 11 and 12. The opposition was poor, and Smith had flashed earlier in the year before disappearing. In his eighth season, a breakout seemed unlikely. Well, after posting a 10-113-0 line on Thanksgiving night, it's time to reconsider. Smith has become a big part of Miami's offensive approach, almost serving as an extension of the running game with him catching balls underneath with space to run. Based on his recent play, Smith is suddenly a legit TE1.
