Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams finished the regular season with a strong performance in the 27-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. He led the team with nine carries for 32 yards and only his third rushing touchdown of the season and also led the team with seven catches on a team-high nine targets for an additional 43 yards. It helped that rookie Jaleel McLaughlin left the game with a head injury and never returned. The 23-year-old entered Week 18 after barely averaging over 2.00 yards per carry the last two weeks, but he was able to finish strong heading into the offseason. Overall, the third-year back was a disappointment, carrying the ball 217 times for 774 yards and three touchdowns while adding 47 catches (58 targets) for 228 yards and two TDs through the air. Heading into the final year of his contract, Williams' fantasy value in 2024 will depend on what Denver does at the QB position in the offseason.

Jan 6 1:30pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams has posted double-digit half-PPR points just four times all season and has only two rushing touchdowns in 15 games. It's been that kind of disappointing year for the 23-year-old. In the last three games, he's averaged 2.42 yards per carry on 38 attempts for 92 yards and a touchdown. The Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders have nothing left to play for but pride in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday, and it's expected that Williams will take a back seat to undrafted rookie Jaleel McLaughlin in the final game of the season. Fewer touches coupled with the lack of efficiency for Williams in recent weeks makes him a clear fade in season-long leagues and DFS contests against Vegas, whose defense has been much stiffer against the run in the last five weeks.

From RotoBaller

Dec 31 9:30pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams has been having trouble finding room to run over the last few games. Coming into Sunday's game, Williams was held to under 30 rushing yards in each of the last two contests. He was able to have a little better of a game, but still an inefficient performance from the young back. Williams rushed 15 times for 41 yards, while adding three receptions for 17 yards to his total in the win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Possibly, things will get better for Williams during next week's matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Williams will be a fringe RB2 for that Week 18 matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 1:50pm ET

Although Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had his second rushing touchdown of the year in the Christmas Eve loss to the New England Patriots, he was pretty poor otherwise with 11 carries for only 24 yards while catching three passes for minus-five yards. He's scored in two of his last three games but has only 51 rushing yards on 23 carries (2.22 yards per attempt) in the last two contests. The 23-year-old could be leaned on more in a great matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday now that quarterback Jarrett Stidham is running Denver's offense, but fantasy managers may not be able to get past how bad Williams has been of late. The Broncos offense could very well take a step back with both Russell Wilson and top wideout Courtland Sutton (concussion) on the bench. Consider Williams a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex in Week 17 in a plus matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dec 25 1:20am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams continued to struggle for running room in Sunday night's difficult 26-23 loss to the New England Patriots, taking 11 carries for 24 yards and a touchdown with three catches for a loss of five yards. New England stuffed Williams at the goal line on fourth-and-goal on Denver's first series after the Pats turned it over, but the 23-year-old tailback scored later in the first quarter. Williams lost a fumble early in the second period, and it was all pretty much downhill from there besides a late two-point conversion to pad his stat line. Meanwhile, Jaleel McLaughlin scurried for 67 yards on 10 touches in Week 16. Williams has just looked a step slow at times in his first year back from a 2022 ACL tear. The 2021 second-rounder is fairly volume-driven and hasn't had great TD luck but draws a favorable matchup in Week 17 versus the Los Angeles Chargers, where Williams will rank as an RB2.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 8:40am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams struggled in Week 15 as he gained just 27 yards on 12 carries. He will look to bounce back against the New England Patriots in Week 16. The Patriots have been decent against running backs this season as they are allowing the 18th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Williams has just three total touchdowns on the season and doesn't have a particularly high ceiling in a Sunday night game with just a 35-point over/under. He is worth consideration as a high-end RB3/flex option in Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Dec 23 9:40pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams was unable to get anything going on the ground last week. Williams rushed 12 times for 27 yards in what ended up being a blowout loss to the Detroit Lions. It has been an inconsistent season for Williams, which has certainly been frustrating for fantasy managers. Williams heads into a tough matchup against the New England Patriots defense. A unit that is allowing the second-fewest yards per carry in the league. Williams should still remain involved, but falls into low-end RB2 territory for this game.

From RotoBaller

Dec 17 1:20pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams failed to deliver for fantasy managers that started him in Week 15 in a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions, as he finished with 12 carries for only 27 yards (2.3 yards per carry), adding two catches on two targets for a loss of seven yards. Backup Samaje Perine outgained Williams on the ground (37 yards) on half the carries in the 42-17 blowout loss on Saturday night. This was always going to be a tough game for Williams against a Detroit defense that hasn't allowed much to RBs in 2023, but this performance was worse than expected. It was especially disappointing to his fantasy managers after the 23-year-old had his first rushing TD of the year in Week 14's win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Williams has mostly underwhelmed in 2023, but he'll have a nice bounce-back matchup on Christmas Eve in Week 16 against the New England Patriots.

From RotoBaller

Dec 16 10:50am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams is coming off one of his best performances of the year in the Week 14 win over the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers, gaining 66 rushing yards and his first rushing touchdown of the year on 17 carries while adding 25 receiving yards on three receptions. On volume alone as Denver's lead back -- he's had 20-plus touches in four of the last six games -- Williams has RB2 value to fantasy managers. However, an encore performance is going to be difficult this Saturday night in primetime against a Detroit Lions defense that has been strong against the run. Detroit's D has allowed the fifth-fewest half-PPR points per game (15.3) to opposing RBs on the year, including only eight rushing TDs, so it might be difficult for Williams to get going in this one and try to find rushing paydirt for the second straight week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 11 12:10am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams capitalized on a friendly matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in a 24-7 win in Week 14 by putting up 66 rushing yards and his first rushing touchdown of the year on 17 carries. He added three catches on four targets for 25 yards through the air. Williams' rushing score was his first since December of 2021. This was easily the 23-year-old's best game of the season, and he looked explosive again while picking up three separate gains of 10-plus yards on the ground against a vulnerable Chargers rush defense. It was the fourth time in the last six games that Williams has had at least 20 touches, so the volume has clearly been there for him to retain RB2 value for fantasy managers heading into another road tilt in Week 15 in Detroit against the Lions.

From RotoBaller

Dec 9 1:50pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams has only had double-digit half-PPR showings in three games in 2023, but he'll have a good opportunity for a fourth in Week 14 against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers, especially if Samaje Perine (knee) is inactive while being a late addition to the injury report. Overall, it's mostly been a disappointing year for Williams, as he's averaging fewer than four yards a carry and hasn't scored a rushing TD all year. However, he's going to see the majority of backfield touches for Denver again this Sunday and is going against a Chargers run defense that has been a top-10 matchup the last five weeks in terms of half-PPR points allowed to the position with 20.8. The Bolts allow 113.8 rushing yards per game, so Denver should be able to move the ball efficiently on the ground, perhaps leading to Williams' first rushing score of 2023. He has high-end RB2 upside in Week 14.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 10:00pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had a team-high 13 carries for 46 yards (3.5 yards per carry) and caught all three of his targets for an additional 24 receiving yards in the 22-17 Week 13 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday to snap the team's five-game winning streak. Williams continued to lead this backfield, but he only had three more carries than quarterback Russell Wilson and still hasn't rushed for a touchdown in 2023. The 23-year-old just hasn't been very efficient with his touches for the most part this season and has lacked explosiveness. Williams has shown some flashes, but for the most part, he hasn't looked like the same back from before his season-ending knee injury early in 2022. However, he will have a perfect opportunity to score his first rushing TD of the year in Week 14 against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers.

From RotoBaller

Dec 2 1:40pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had a season-high 19.0 half-PPR fantasy points in the Week 10 win over the Buffalo Bills but then had back-to-back lackluster outings the last two games against the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns. He has double-digit half-PPR performances only three times this year, but all three of them have come during Denver's current five-game winning streak. Williams has seen 20-plus touches in three of the last four games, too, so the volume is there for him to be an RB2 in fantasy lineups. The 23-year-old has yet to score a rushing touchdown, though, and the Houston Texans defense, who Williams will face in Week 13, is more attackable through the air than on the ground. Houston's D has only allowed 15.5 half-PPR points per game to RBs in the last five weeks.

Nov 27 12:40am ET

As expected, Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had little room to run in Week 12 against the stout Cleveland Browns defense in a 29-12 victory on Sunday. Williams led Denver's backfield with a commanding 18 carries for 65 yards and caught three of his six targets for six yards. The bad news: The 23-year-old continues to be inefficient on the ground and averaged 3.6 yards per carry. The good news: His three receptions and six targets both tied Courtland Sutton for the team lead through the air. His six targets were tied for a season-high. Volume hasn't been his problem -- he's seen 20-plus touches in three of the last four games -- but he needs to do more with those touches to be considered more than an RB3/flex for fantasy managers. Williams briefly left the contest with a neck injury, but he was able to return and should be good to play in Week 13 against the Houston Texans.

From RotoBaller

Nov 25 11:30am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams was beginning to look like an RB1 in fantasy in Weeks 8 and 10 when he combined for 48 rushing attempts for 164 yards and seven catches for 44 yards and two touchdowns in wins over the Chiefs and Bills. But he hit a wall in last week's win over the Vikings with only 37 rushing yards on 11 attempts while catching two passes for 16 yards. The 23-year-old is Denver's clear lead back, but the Broncos are expected to have trouble moving the ball this Sunday against the vaunted Cleveland Browns defense, a unit that allows the fewest yards per game (243.3) in the league. They're a little more vulnerable on the ground (just under 100 yards allowed per game) and the Broncos will surely test that, but Williams' overall ceiling and floor figure to be lower in what should be a defensive battle in Week 12. Williams is still searching for his first rushing TD of 2023 and is averaging a less-than-stellar 3.88 yards per carry.

From RotoBaller

Nov 20 12:10am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams' fantasy arrow was pointing upward coming into Week 11's Sunday night tilt against the Minnesota Vikings after seeing 55 touches and finding the end zone twice through the air the last two games. Unfortunately, he was underwhelming in the 21-20 win, carrying the ball only 11 times for 37 yards (3.4 yards per tote) while catching both of his targets for 16 yards. Denver played from behind for most of this contest, and Williams couldn't get anything going consistently aside from one 15-yard gain in the second half. It was also discouraging that rookie Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine combined for 12 receptions on 12 targets. Williams needs positive game script to continue being fed as a runner in this offense, and he'll be fighting an uphill battle for RB2 value in fantasy lineups in a bad matchup in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns.

From RotoBaller

Nov 18 11:50am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams looks to finally be getting his legs under him after suffering a season-ending knee injury early last year. The Broncos eased him in early on in 2023, but things have noticeably changed in the last two games, as Williams has 48 rushing attempts for 164 yards (3.42 yards per carry) and has caught all seven targets for 44 yards and his first two touchdowns of the season. All signs point to the Broncos riding him as a bell-cow back in the second half of the season. If he continues to get 20-plus touches a game, the 23-year-old should have RB1 upside in the right matchups. The Minnesota Vikings, Denver's Week 11 opponent, have been above league average in rushing yards allowed per game (323.2) and have also been pretty stingy in terms of fantasy points allowed per game to the position, but fantasy managers can't argue with the increase in workload Williams has seen of late. His arrow is pointing up. Start him.

Dynasty | Javonte Williams saw 25 total touches in the team's win vs. the Bills on Monday night. Dynasty Analysis: It's safe to say Williams is fully healthy and is the Broncos' RB1 as he's seen 55 touches over his past two games, a trend that has been increasing since early October. More importantly, the Broncos other runners only accounted for seven rushing attempts showing that it's Williams who is operating as the clear choice at the position. It's been a long road to production for Williams who suffered an ACL tear early in 2022, but he remains only 23 and will be entering into his contract year in 2024. Found as DLF's RB15, the running back position remains a risk in the RB2 tier but Williams presents as a value-on acquisition option for both competing and rebuilding dynasty teams looking for a young upside asset.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Nov 14 1:30am ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams was given a heavy workload coming off a bye in the 24-22 Monday night win over the Buffalo Bills. Williams had a team-high 21 carries for 79 yards (3.8 yards per carry) while catching all four of his targets for 31 yards and his second touchdown of the year. It was the first time all year he exceeded 100 scrimmage yards. After being eased into the offense early in the year coming off a serious knee injury in 2022, Williams now has 55 touches in the last two games and has scored through the air in both of those contests. The 23-year-old looks to have his legs under him finally and should continue to see 20-plus touches on a weekly basis as the Broncos lean on their ground game. Williams has gone over 75 rushing yards during Denver's three-game win streak. He needs to be locked into starting fantasy lineups for a Week 11 contest against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night.

From RotoBaller

Nov 11 1:20pm ET

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had a slow first half of his 2023 campaign while returning from a season-ending knee injury he suffered last year. After nine weeks, he ranks as the RB40 with only 8.3 half-PPR fantasy points per game. But since missing Week 5 due to injury, Williams' workload has steadily increased, culminating in a 30-touch, 95-yard, one-TD performance in the Week 8 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. It was his second straight week nearly totaling 100 scrimmage yards. Rookie Jaleel McLaughlin will continue to remain involved, but Williams appears to be getting his legs under him at the midway point of the season. He'll operate as Denver's clear lead back on Monday night against a Buffalo Bills defense that has been vulnerable on the ground in 2023. Williams is a strong RB2 play in a primetime game in Week 10.
