Veteran free-agent center Bradley Bozeman is signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The former National Champion at Alabama was a sixth-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2018 and has 96 games (77 starts) of NFL experience under his belt with Baltimore and the Carolina Panthers. All-Pro center Corey Linsley was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list with a non-emergent heart-related issue last September and is likely to retire, meaning Bozeman has a path to the starting job in 2024. However, he struggled mightily to protect Bryce Young last season in Carolina, so L.A. might look to find a different starter at center in next month's NFL Draft.

Free-agent offensive guard Damien Lewis plans to sign with the Carolina Panthers in free agency this week for four years and $53 million, according to sources. The deal includes $26.2 million guaranteed. The Panthers made a serious effort to improve their offensive line in front of young quarterback Bryce Young on Monday by adding both Lewis and guard Robert Hunt, who signed a whopping five-year, $100 million contract. Lewis, who turns 27 on March 21, ranked 41st among all guards in the NFL in pass-block win rate in 2023 with the Seattle Seahawks while starting all but one game. Lewis is 32nd in the league in the same statistic among all guards over his four NFL seasons after he was taken in the third round by Seattle in 2020 out of LSU. He started at left guard the last three seasons for Seattle and has started 61 of a possible 67 regular-season games in his career, so he'll provide needed stability on the O-line for Carolina.

The Carolina Panthers agreed to terms with free-agent offensive guard Robert Hunt on a five-year, $100 million deal on Monday, according to a source. The deal includes $63 million guaranteed. It's a huge free-agent contract for Hunt, who was taken by the Miami Dolphins in the second round in 2020 out of LSU. The 27-year-old offensive lineman started 55 of the 61 games that he played in in his four seasons in South Beach, although he missed six games in 2023 due to a hamstring injury. In addition to being reliable, Hunt had at least one snap at every position on the Dolphins' offensive line except left guard during his four years with the team. He has primarily played right tackle and right guard and will head to Carolina to provide quarterback Bryce Young with more interior protection after the top pick in the 2023 draft was sacked 62 times, second-most in the NFL.

The Carolina Panthers are releasing veteran center Bradley Bozeman ahead of free agency. The former two-time National Champion at Alabama spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before signing a deal to join the Panthers in 2022. He has struggled in pass protection, and the Panthers are looking to improve its offensive line after rookie Bryce Young was sacked 62 times (second-most). The Panthers save $4.36 million by making this move.

The Carolina Panthers went 2-15 last year and fired both their head coach and general manager. They have all kinds of needs this offseason, but The Athletic's Joe Person thinks that their biggest priority should be getting young quarterback Bryce Young some help in the passing game. DJ Chark Jr. ranked in the bottom 10 in the league in average separation and catch percentage, while Jonathan Mingo had the fifth-worst catch percentage (50.6) in his rookie campaign. Adam Thielen had a 1,000-yard season, but the 33-year-old can no longer stretch defenses at his age. It all caused Young to stand in the pocket waiting for someone to get open before eventually getting enveloped by the pass rush. Young has plenty to work on himself, but helping him take the next step in Year 2 will start with surrounding him with better playmakers.

Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown is meeting with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday to interview for their vacant offensive-coordinator job, according to league sources. Brown is also scheduled to interview this week for the Tennessee Titans head-coaching opening. The Bears are looking to replace Luke Getsy, who ran their offense the last two seasons. Brown went back and forth as Carolina's play-caller in his first year with the team, and they finished 2-15 as rookie quarterback Bryce Young struggled mightily. The 37-year-old Brown has had his career fast-tracked after serving as the running backs and tight ends coach under head coach Sean McVay with the Los Angeles Rams. He interviewed for the Houston Texans' head-coaching job last offseason before the job was given to DeMeco Ryans.

Dynasty | Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 11-of-18 passes for just 94 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Panthers loss against Tampa Bay. Dynasty Analysis: Young ends the season leading the Panthers to exactly zero points the pats two games and finishes his rookie season with just 2,877 passing yards, with 11 touchdowns and ten interceptions, despite starting every game. While it's way too early to call Young a bust, his rookie year wasn't far from a disaster. With just one 300-yard game and a record of 1-16 on his resume, Young will need to show a lot more next season to cement his place as the long-term answer for Carolina. The fact they gave up the farm for him certainly works in his favor but he's going to be a QB2/3 option in dynasty start-up drafts this off-season as a player who simply didn't show much this year.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Jan 7 5:00pm ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 11 of his 18 passes for 94 yards and added two carries for 24 yards and a lost fumble in a 9-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. Young capped off a disappointing rookie season by failing to throw for a touchdown for the sixth time in the past eight games. The signal-caller finishes the year with 2,877 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 16 games. He will hope to bounce back in his sophomore season next year, although he is looking like a low-end QB2/high-end Qb3 for fantasy purposes heading into the offseason.

Jan 6 2:50pm ET

Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper already fired head coach Frank Reich midway through the season and some of his assistant coaches, and many people now expect general manager Scott Fitterer to be next on the chopping block, according to league sources. Should he fire Fitterer, Tepper would then have a clean slate to offer a prospective head coach and new GM, although current assistant GM Dan Morgan has support within the organization. This team clearly has issues after trading its 2024 first-round pick to the Chicago Bears last year to draft quarterback Bryce Young first overall. Young has endured a difficult rookie season, and the Panthers are missing other offensive playmakers and have a shaky offensive line that needs rebuilding.

Jan 6 7:40am ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (back) is listed without an injury designation after injuring his back during a Week 17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Young practiced fully throughout the week and should be fine to start in the regular-season finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers have been a favorable matchup for quarterbacks this season as they are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to the position. That being said, Young has underwhelmed in his rookie season and is hard to trust as anything more than a high-end QB3 in Week 18.

From RotoBaller

Jan 3 2:50pm ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (back) was banged up in the Week 17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and entered the medical tent for a brief check-up. However, he did not miss a snap and was a full participant in the first practice leading up to Week 18. The Panthers will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are looking to clinch the NFC South on Sunday. It's good news that Young's back is fine, and he doesn't appear at risk of missing Week 18, but he should not be on the fantasy or DFS radar in the last week of the regular season. Young has failed to produce double-digit fantasy points in seven of his last eight starts. With Jonathan Mingo (foot) on Injured Reserve, he's not likely to end that trend in this spot.

Dec 31 9:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 19 of his 32 passes for 112 yards and an interception while adding a two-yard rush in a 26-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17. He spent a short time in the medical tent tending to a back issue following a first-quarter sack but was cleared to return and ultimately didn't miss any time. Young struggled to capitalize on what was a favorable matchup against a leaky Jacksonville pass defense as he failed to throw a touchdown for the fifth time in his past six contests. The signal-caller will cap a disappointing rookie season in Week 18's home matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

From RotoBaller

Dec 30 7:00am ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is coming off his best game of the season as he passed for 312 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the Green Bay Packers. Young will look to build on that promising performance in a road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17. The Jaguars represent a plus matchup for Young as they are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Despite the encouraging matchup, Young hasn't shown much upside this season and should be treated as a high-end QB3 in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 26 1:00pm ET

Panthers' QB Bryce Young scored 25.30 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 16 loss against the Packers. Young threw for 312 yards on 23-of-35 with two touchdowns.

Dec 24 4:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 23 of his 36 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns while adding four carries for 17 yards in a 33-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Young's multi-touchdown game broke a streak of four straight games without a touchdown pass while the 300-yard game was the first of his young career. Both of Young's touchdown passes went to D.J. Chark Jr. in the contest. Young's solid game is a sliver of hope for the future in what has been a trying season for the Panthers. He will look to build on his Week 16 performance next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Dec 24 4:30pm ET

Panthers' QB Bryce Young passed for 312 yards on 23-of-36 with two touchdowns in Sunday's loss against the Packers.

Dec 23 6:30am ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has now failed to throw a touchdown pass in four straight games and has just nine touchdown passes on the season. He will look to get things going at home against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. The Packers have been decent against quarterbacks in 2023, allowing the 18th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Young hasn't shown much of a fantasy ceiling in his rookie season, leaving him as a QB3 as gamers head into the semifinals in the fantasy playoffs.

Dec 17 4:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 18 of his 24 passes for 167 scoreless yards while adding nine yards on four carries in a 9-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. Despite leading the Panthers to just their second win of the season, Young has now gone four straight games without a passing touchdown. On the bright side, Young did manage to avoid turning the ball over in the contest. Young will look to find the end zone for the first time since November 19 in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers.

From RotoBaller

Dec 16 6:50am ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed just 36.1% of his passes last week and has gone three straight games without a touchdown pass. The rookie will look to turn things around in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons have been generous to opposing quarterbacks this season as they are allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game thus far. This game has an extremely low 33.5-point over/under and there isn't likely to be much scoring against the run-first Falcons. Young has not shown enough upside to be trusted in starting lineups this weekend, except as a desperation QB2 in superflex formats.

Dec 10 4:50pm ET

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 13 of his 36 passes for 137 yards and no touchdowns in a 28-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 14. He added three carries for 40 yards and a lost fumble in the lopsided loss. Young's struggles continued as he has now gone three consecutive games without throwing a touchdown while completing just 36% of his passes. The rookie signal-caller also continues to take too many hits as he was sacked four times. Young will look to regroup heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
