An MRI confirmed that free-agent running back Tarik Cohen (Achilles), who hasn't played in the NFL since he tore his ACL in Week 3 of the 2020 season, ruptured his Achilles while live streaming a training session, according to a source. It's a tough break for the 26-year-old, who will most likely miss most, if not all, of the 2022 season. Cohen was a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2018 with the Chicago Bears in his second NFL season, and he caught a career-high 79 passes for 456 yards and three touchdowns on 104 targets in 2019, but his career has been derailed by injuries since 2020.

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Tarik Cohen (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles' tendon during his workout Tuesday, May 17.

Free-agent RB Tarik Cohen (Bears) appeared to suffer a significant lower leg injury while training Tuesday, May 17. There has been some speculation from training video posted on social media that he may have torn his right Achilles.

Former Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen (leg) appeared to suffer a significant lower leg injury while training on Tuesday. It's a tough blow for Cohen, who was finally recovered from a torn ACL in 2020. His latest injury is speculated to be a torn Achilles. The 26-year-old running back was released by the Bears with an injury designation back in March. If it's indeed a torn Achilles, he's unlikely to sign with a team or play at all in 2022. In his last full season in 2019, Cohen carried the ball 64 times for 213 yards while also catching a career-high 79 passes for 456 yards and three touchdowns on 104 targets in 16 games (11 starts) for the Bears.

Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen (knee) was released with an injury designation Friday, March 11. He hopes to be ready for the start of 2022.
Fantasy Spin: Cohen has been the ultimate Darren Sproles-esque receiving back and will be an RB5 to watch in PPR leagues when he lands on another team.
From TheHuddle
The Chicago Bears are releasing running back Tarik Cohen (knee) on Friday with an injury designation, according to a source. Cohen hasn't been able to pass a physical stemming from his knee injury in 2020, but his goal is to be ready for the upcoming season after he missed all of 2021. The 26-year-old is unlikely to be selected in most fantasy drafts this fall, but it will be interesting to see where the pass-catching running back will land. Cohen will first need to prove he's past his knee injury. He was a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro for the Bears in 2018, when he had 444 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 99 carries, adding 71 receptions for 725 yards and five additional TDs on 91 targets in 16 games (seven starts).
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen and WR Dazz Newsome likely will be candidate for the punt returner job next season if the team does not re-sign impending free-agent WR Jakeem Grant.
From TheHuddle
Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen, who missed all of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL in his knee, could be in danger of being cut this offseason. The Bears would only have $3.5 million in dead money if they were to cut Cohen, while he'd save the team $2.25 million against the salary cap. The dead-money hit is obviously not prohibitive, and wide receiver Jakeem Grant could handle Cohen's punt-return and gadget roles if he's re-signed. Cohen was a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro in 2018, but he came back down to Earth in 2019, and there's no guarantee he'll be that effective in a pass-catching role in 2022 coming off a lost season. If Cohen returns, he might find playing time hard to come by while battling Khalil Herbert for touches behind David Montgomery.
