New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (chest) is officially active for Week 18 against the Atlanta Falcons. He'll suit up for the regular-season finale despite being listed as questionable. The 27-year-old has looked great lately, catching 14 passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns over his last three games. He had one of the best games of his career last week, commanding 12 targets while amassing 90 yards. Although he hasn't been a consistent performer this season, his recent success makes him a worthwhile option in fantasy football. Managers should view him as a fringe TE1 option given his low floor and high ceiling.

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (chest) will play in Week 18 despite being listed as questionable, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported. The 27-year-old has made major strides lately, catching 14 passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns over his last three games. He had one of the best games of his career last week, commanding 12 targets while amassing 90 yards. Fantasy managers should view him as a low-end TE1 option in fantasy football given his low floor and high ceiling.

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (chest) is listed as questionable for the Week 18 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Johnson sat out practice to open the week, but was able to get in two limited practice sessions after that. The assumption is that the Saints are just being cautious with Johnson and that he'll be good to go for Sunday. Johnson has been heavily utilized in this offense recently. He has seen 19 targets over the last two games. DFS players might want to look his way as a possible cheap option for this weekend.

Jan 4 10:30pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (chest) returned to a limited practice on Thursday after he picked up a DNP on Wednesday. Johnson has another day to get up to speed, but the fact that he was able to return to practice on Thursday is a good sign for his availability in a must-win Week 18 contest against the visiting Atlanta Falcons. His stock as a low-cost DFS play will be on the rise if running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) is unable to play this weekend. The 27-year-old has plenty of bust potential like most of the tight ends in the league, but he's also found the end zone in three straight games and had season-highs in catches (eight), targets (12) and receiving yards (90) in last week's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 12 against Atlanta, he had four catches for 45 yards.

Jan 3 4:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (shoulder) was not seen on the practice field with the rest of the team on Wednesday. Apparently Johnson picked up a shoulder injury in the Week 17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Aside from his injury, the 27-year-old had his best performance of the year, catching eight of his 12 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown. Although Johnson has been an inconsistent, touchdown-dependent fantasy streamer at the tight end position this year, he's on the rise after finding the end zone in each of the last three games for the Saints. Johnson's status for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Atlanta Falcons is in question, but if he can return to practice this week and play on Sunday, he'll be in play as a low-end, touchdown-dependent TE1 for fantasy managers.

Jan 1 11:10am ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson was heavily used in Week 17's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Johnson led the team in receiving on a season-high 12 targets, grabbing eight receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Derek Carr took advantage of Tampa Bay's inability to cover tight ends, picking the defense apart through Johnson. Johnson has now caught a touchdown in three straight games, extending a streak after scoring just once prior to Week 15. He has paid off for fantasy managers who took a gamble on him throughout the fantasy playoffs.

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (shoulder) has returned to action on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Johnson hurt his shoulder earlier in the contest and was questionable to return but has re-entered the contest. That's big news for the Saints offense as Johnson is having himself a huge day (4-51-1).

Dec 31 2:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (shoulder) is questionable to return for Sunday's Week 17 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Johnson injured his shoulder on a long reception during the second quarter of Sunday's contest. He was on his way to a big game as he already scored earlier in the contest but he is now questionable to return. Expect veteran Taysom Hill to pick up some of the slack at the tight end position if Johnson can't make it back.

Dec 29 12:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson has had a disappointing season rattled by injuries but has heated up as of late with touchdowns in back-to-back games. Johnson saw a season-high seven targets last week and appears to be the third option in the passing game behind Chris Olave (ankle) and Rashid Shaheed. The 27-year-old tight end draws a favorable matchup against a Tampa Bay defense that surrenders the third-most fantasy points to tight ends, but New Orleans' committee approach to the tight end position makes Johnson a scary start. He grades as a high-end TE2 this week.

Dec 22 9:10am ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson got more involved in the passing game on Thursday night in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams, tying his season-high in targets and surpassing his season-high in receiving yards. Johnson was targeted seven times, hauling in four receptions for 48 yards and a score. The tight end has now scored a touchdown in back-to-back games and will look to make it three straight as the Saints take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a must-win Week 17 game next Sunday.

Dec 20 4:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson is coming off of a Week 15 match where he caught just his second touchdown of the season, but only saw two targets. Due to the tight-end-by-committee approach deployed by the Saints, Johnson has ceded red zone snaps to Jimmy Graham and also splits time with Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill. He just has not had the volume to be a trustworthy option for fantasy purposes this season. Johnson and the Saints take on the Los Angeles Rams, who have surrendered the fifth-most points to the tight end position this season, on Thursday night. That being said, Johnson cannot be trusted in lineups this week.

Dec 17 7:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson stepped up in the absence of Chris Olave (ankle) in Week 15's win over the New York Giants. While Johnson was part of a tight-end-by-committee approach along with Foster Moreau, Jimmy Graham, and Taysom Hill, he was still able to churn out a solid fantasy day due to his touchdown. Johnson was only targeted twice, showing he still cannot be trusted in lineups going forward, but he caught both targets for 38 yards and a score. He should be left on waivers heading into Thursday night's upcoming game with the Los Angeles Rams unless Olave remains unable to play.

Dec 15 10:40am ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson has had a disappointing season, as he missed four games with injuries and has only scored one touchdown so far this year. Johnson's role has varied on a week-by-week basis but typically the Saints have rolled with a tight-end-by-committee approach. Foster Moreau, Jimmy Graham, and Taysom Hill (foot, left hand) have all mixed in alongside Johnson at the tight end position. With Chris Olave (ankle) trending towards missing Week 15's matchup with the New York Giants, there will be plenty of volume to spread around. Johnson cannot be trusted in lineups due to his inconsistencies in target share this season, but in absolutely desperate situations he can be started as long as Olave is ruled out.

Dec 10 8:00am ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (quad) is expected to play in Week 14 despite being listed as questionable, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 27-year-old has 10 catches, 76 yards, and one touchdown over his last four games. While Taysom Hill (foot, left hand), who is listed as a tight end, will be inactive Sunday, his absence likely won't impact Johnson's production. The Oregon product remains a low-end fantasy TE2 versus the Carolina Panthers.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 5:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight ends Taysom Hill (foot, left hand) and Juwan Johnson (quadriceps) are questionable to play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Hill didn't practice at all this week and it seems as though he faces an uphill battle to suit up. Nevertheless, the Saints are leaving the door open for him to play. Johnson, on the other hand, was a limited participant and could be a game-time decision. Of the two, Hill is the only one who should be started with confidence in fantasy football (if he plays, of course). The added benefit of starting him is that he could also log some reps at quarterback.

From RotoBaller

Dec 7 7:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (quadriceps) stayed limited at practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Johnson could end up with a questionable tag on Friday's final Week 14 injury report, but all signs point to him playing in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers. There aren't going to be many fantasy managers trying to use Johnson as a tight end streamer after he put up a donut in the Week 13 loss to the Detroit Lions, even if Taysom Hill (foot, hand) is unable to play. On top of it, backup quarterback Jameis Winston might have to make the start for Derek Carr (concussion, rib, shoulder), who was beat up again last Sunday. The 27-year-old Johnson offers very little upside with an 18-142-1 line in eight games played this season.

From RotoBaller

Dec 6 8:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (quadriceps) was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a quadriceps injury. Johnson played a season-low 57 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 13 loss to the Detroit Lions and couldn't haul in any of his three targets. His first target early in Sunday's game clanked off his hands and to a Lions defender for an interception. Taysom Hill (foot, hand) is also injured and could be in danger of sitting out this weekend's game against the Carolina Panthers. It could lead to more work for Foster Moreau and veteran Jimmy Graham, who caught his second touchdown of the year in Week 13. When healthy, Johnson hasn't been much more than a low-upside TE2 streamer, as he's caught 18 of his 32 targets for 142 yards and one touchdown on the year.

From RotoBaller

Dec 4 12:40pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson was a popular streaming target for Week 13 action with six teams on bye. Fantasy managers that went that route came away pretty upset, though, as Johnson failed to haul in all three of his targets in the 33-28 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. His first target of the game on the team's first offensive possession clanked off his hands and to a Lions defender for an interception. It was an early sign of how Johnson's day was going to go. It was the 27-year-old's first zero-point day of the season. Johnson will have better days ahead, but he has failed to top 50 receiving yards in all eight of his games this year and has found the end zone just once (back in Week 9). At best, he'll be a touchdown-dependent TE2 in the Week 14 contest versus the Carolina Panthers.

Dec 1 10:40am ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson has battled injuries for most of the 2023 season, but is now one of the lone healthy pass catchers in New Orleans. Chris Olave (concussion), Rashid Shaheed (thigh), and Michael Thomas (ankle) are all banged up, with Olave looking like the only one of the trio with a chance of suiting up on Sunday. Detroit surrenders the fourth-most points per game to opposing tight ends and with so many pass catchers banged up, the opportunity arises for Johnson to break onto the scene at a thin position fantasy-wise. If he is not rostered in your league, scoop him up and don't hesitate to start him on a week with stars like T.J. Hockenson and Dalton Kincaid on bye.

From RotoBaller

Nov 26 4:50pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson briefly left Sunday's loss to Atlanta but returned and was needed after Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (thigh) did not return after suffering their own injuries. Johnson was targeted a season-high seven times, hauling in four receptions for 45 yards. Olave and Shaheed's injuries should be monitored throughout the week, as Johnson will be a top tight end option against Detroit next Sunday should both receivers not play. The fourth-year tight end should be a hot commodity on the waiver wire this week at a thin position.
