Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger announced his retirement Thursday, Jan. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Big Ben will be remembered for this size, athletic ability and big arm. He was different and will surely be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. The Steelers will pivot to Mason Rudolph, for now, but there will be a number of options in free agency. Rudolph will be a QB2 in fantasy if he's the starter.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is expected to move on from the Steelers as head coach Mike Tomlin said they're proceeding with the assumption he's done in Pittsburgh.

Fantasy Spin: Big Ben is expected to retire, and the team may pivot to Mason Rudolph. Rudolph would be a QB2 in fantasy if he were to land the starting gig.

Jan 18 12:50pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has likely taken his last snap in the NFL. The organization is under the assumption that the 40-year-old quarterback won't return in 2022. That being said, Mason Rudolph would be the next option in line. He is currently signed through the 2022 season. It appears Rudolph is in line to start next season unless the Steelers make a move in free agency or the NFL Draft. It's uncertain what direction the Steelers plan to go next year. Although, it seems possible that they let Rudolph play quarterback for one season and attempt to secure a high draft pick for a QB in 2023. There are plenty of options on the table for Pittsburgh, but it appears Big Ben will not be one of them.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) practiced in full the last two days and will play on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card clash, which could be the final game of his storied career. The 39-year-old just doesn't have a whole lot left in the tank, as he ranked 15th in the NFL with 3,740 passing yards this year, throwing only 22 touchdown passes in 16 games. He also averaged a career-low 6.2 yards per attempt during the regular season and went over 300 yards in a game just twice. Roethlisberger has been a low-upside QB2 all season, but he's cheap in DFS as a contrarian play this weekend and will be facing a Chiefs defense that allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing QBs this year.

Jan 14 4:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) fully participated Friday, Jan. 14, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger has thrown for three touchdowns and three interceptions over the last three games and has been held to under 250 yards in all three games. He may have to throw a lot against the Kansa s City Chiefs this week but can be avoided inn fantasy leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris (elbow) was upgraded to a full practice Friday, Jan. 14, and is listed as questionable for the Wild Card Round versus the Kansas City Chiefs. QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder), CB Arthur Maulet (concussion), OT Dan Moore (ankle) and OG Trai Turner (knee) also practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Jan 13 10:00pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) returned to a full practice on Thursday, a day after he was listed as a limited practice participant. Roethlisberger has been managing pectoral and shoulder injuries for most of the year, but they won't keep him from playing in Sunday's wild-card playoff contest against the Kansas City Chiefs in what could be the final game of his career. The good news for Big Ben is that he will be getting receiver James Washington back from the COVID-19 list and potentially JuJu Smith-Schuster(shoulder) from Injured Reserve, but the bad news is the 39-year-old QB has been a low-ceiling, dink-and-dunk QB2 all year for fantasy purposes. He's merely a low-cost contrarian play in DFS at his $5,200 DraftKings salary for this weekend. Roethlisberger threw for only 159 yards with a TD and a pick back in Week 16 against the Chiefs.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris (elbow) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 12. QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) and S Arthur Maulet (concussion) were limited during practice, while OT Dan Moore Jr. (ankle) fully participated in practice.

From TheHuddle

Jan 12 4:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) was a limited practice participant on Wednesday. Roethlisberger has been managing these two injuries mostly all season long, so he'll be fine to play in what could be the final game of his storied career this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs on wild-card weekend. There's a reason why Big Ben is the lowest-salaried starting QB at DraftKings for this weekend's games. The 39-year-old future Hall of Famer continues to dink and dunk underneath and is averaging a career-low 6.2 yards per attempt in 16 games this year with 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 16 games. Roethlisberger will be lightly owned in DFS, but he will come cheap, and the Chiefs defense has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to QBs this season.

Jan 7 7:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger has been held to under 200 yards in each of his last three games and has been held to one touchdown or less in four of the last six games. He posted decent numbers the last time he played the Baltimore Ravens but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

P Pressley Harvin III (personal, illness) also did not practice all week but is listed as questionable. From TheHuddle

Jan 6 5:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 6.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger has played well at times this season but has not posted great numbers over the last month. He can be considered a low-end No. 2 quarterback in two-quarterback leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 5 4:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 5.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger threw for only 123 yards in the last game and has been held to under 160 yards passing in each of the last three games. He can be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 12:53am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 24-of-46 passes for 123 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns in what was expected to be the final home game of his career.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger's storied career is winding down, with the Steelers still possessing an outside chance of the playoffs with a win in Baltimore in Week 18 and some help. It was like a Hollywood finish with Big Ben walking off the field, joined by his family, but he isn't quite done yet.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 12:20am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 24 of 46 passes for 123 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 26-14 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 17. In what he himself called his final regular-season game at Heinz Field Roethlisberger threw plenty, although his anemic 2.7 yards per attempt was painful to watch. His lone touchdown pass was a quick five-yard slant to Diontae Johnson in the second quarter. Roethlisberger will be a low-end QB2 against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18 to finish out the regular season.

From RotoBaller

Jan 1 3:43pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) fully participated in practice Saturday, Jan. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger has been disappointing recently with only 309 yards, one touchdown and one interception over the last two games. He should be avoided in most fantasy leagues but could be a possible low-end No. 2 quarterback in two-quarterback leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 31 5:33pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral, shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger is on track to play in what appears to be his final home game and has not been playing very well this season. He can be avoided in most leagues but would be a possible low-end No. 2 quarterback in two-quarterback leagues.
