Player Notes

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan caught both of his targets for 19 yards and one touchdown during a win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 17. Despite operating behind Dalton Schultz, Jordan was able to contribute offensively with Houston's lone receiving touchdown. On that note, Jordan doesn't see much volume when Schultz is healthy and has never been a consistent touchdown scorer. As long as he remains in a depth role, Jordan can be left off the fantasy radar.

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan led the team in receiving yards in their 30-6 loss against the New York Jets in Week 14. With Dalton Schultz (hamstring) out for the contest, Jordan filled in as the Texans TE1 for the second straight week. In Week 14, he caught all three of his targets for 35 yards. Houston's passing offense had trouble on Sunday in the rain as quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for just 91 yards. If Schultz can't play next week on the road against the Tennessee Titans, Jordan would see another start.

Dec 9 5:30pm CT

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan will step up once again as the team's top tight end option in Week 14 against the New York Jets. With Dalton Schultz (hamstring) already ruled out for the contest, Jordan should see more opportunities in Houston's passing game. Last week, the 23-year-old tight end played 75% of the team's offensive snaps while catching three passes (on five targets) for 64 yards. New York is middle of the pack against fantasy tight ends this season. But with rain and heavy winds expected in this matchup, Jordan is more of a TE2 option in Week 14.

Dec 3 7:30am CT

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan could operate as the team's No. 1 tight end in Week 13 versus the Denver Broncos. With teammate Dalton Schultz (hamstring) ruled out for the first time this season, Jordan and Eric Saubert are expected to receive more snaps. So far, Jordan has the advantage in the passing attack. While Saubert has played in just three games and has not been targeted this season, Jordan has logged seven appearances with six catches, 60 yards, and one touchdown. As fantasy managers navigate injuries and bye weeks, Jordan carries some streaming appeal at the tight end position in deeper formats.

Dec 2 2:00pm CT

Houston Texans tight ends Brevin Jordan and Eric Saubert will see bigger roles in Week 13 against the Denver Broncos with Dalton Schultz (hamstring) already ruled out for the contest. Jordan will likely fill in as Schultz's replacement on Sunday, while Saubert will act as the TE2 for Houston. Both tight ends have a great matchup in Week 13 against a Broncos secondary that is giving up the most fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. Jordan should have more of an impact in this game but should only be started in deep formats or tight end premium leagues.

Nov 17 8:20pm CT

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan (foot) should be good to go for the Week 11 matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals. The third-year tight end was able to log in a full practice on Friday after not practicing to begin the week. It appears Jordan is on track to play after missing each of the last three games due to a foot issue. However, Jordan has played a minimal role on this Texans offense to begin the season. He has five receptions for 51 yards and one touchdown this season. Fellow tight end Dalton Schultz appears healthy heading into the weekend, so Jordan will probably go back to having a minimal role in this offense.

Nov 10 3:40pm CT

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan (foot) has been ruled out for Week 10 versus the Cincinnati Bengals. This is hardly a surprise considering Jordan missed all three practices this week. The 23-year-old has just five catches for 51 yards and one touchdown through six games this year, so his absence isn't particularly crushing for the Texans or fantasy managers. Expect Eric Saubert to operate as the No. 2 tight end behind Dalton Schultz until Jordan can return.

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods (foot) and tight end Brevin Jordan (foot) will both miss the Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Woods also missed the Week 8 loss to the Carolina Panthers and hasn't practiced at all with the team since their Week 7 bye. The 31-year-old's foot injury could keep him out beyond this week as well, so he belongs on the waiver wire in most 12-team leagues for now. With Woods set to miss another game this weekend, Nico Collins, rookie Tank Dell and Noah Brown will continue to operate as Houston's top three receivers for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Jordan is dealing with plantar fasciitis and also missed Week 8. Dalton Schultz remains the team's top pass-catching TE, and Eric Saubert could back him up in Week 9.

Oct 31 11:30pm CT

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan (foot) did not play in the team's 15-13 loss against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8, and it looks like he will miss more time with the injury. The 23-year-old is dealing with a plantar fasciitis issue in his foot. It's unclear when Jordan picked up the foot issue. But he was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday following the team's Week 7 bye last week before being a non-participant in Friday's practice. How much time the tight end will miss remains unseen. However, he could be an injured reserve candidate.
