Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby both endorsed Rich Bisaccia retaining the head-coaching job permanently after their 26-19 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild-card game on Saturday. Bisaccia was promoted from special teams coordinator to interim head coach when Jon Gruden resigned on Oct. 11. "I think we can all think that he's the right guy," Carr said of Bisaccia. "He's proven that people listen to him. Our team listens to him. And I love him so much, I'm thankful for him." Crosby called Bisaccia a "great leader" for the Raiders. The Raiders are expected to consider Bisaccia as they search for a full-time head coach, but it might be unlikely that he'll retain head-coaching duties heading into the 2022 season.

Jan 15 9:53pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr had 16 total turnovers and 12 total touchdowns over the final 11 games of the season.

Fantasy Spin: Carr's hot start to the season gave way to mediocre performances down the stretch, and he had one touchdown or less in seven of the final eight games. He will have an occasional big game, but Carr will be a QB2 again in 2022.

He ran once for 20 yards and lost a fumble. RB Josh Jacobs rushed 13 times for 83 yards and caught four of five targets for 44 yards. WR Hunter Renfrow caught eight passes for 54 yards on 11 looks, while WR Zay Jones landed five of eight targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. TE Darren Waller paced the Raiders with 76 yards on seven catches (12 targets). LB Denzel Perryman led the team with nine tackles, including six solo stops. DE Maxx Crosby tallied three solo tackles, three assists, a sack, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr has one year left on his contract, and his future with the franchise appears directly tied to the offseason search for a new head coach. Carr publicly stated his desire to remain with the Raiders, even saying he probably would retire before playing elsewhere. He'll command a high-dollar contract extension, and it is unclear how the team will approach a new deal, especially if there is a change at general manager.

Fantasy Spin: Carr will have the attention of several franchises if he and the Raiders part ways, provided he doesn't actually hang 'em up. Regardless of where he lands, we're still looking at little more than a matchup play in fantasy circles most weeks.

Jan 15 12:00pm ET

It appears that the future of Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will be closely tied to the team's decision on what they do at head coach in the offseason. The Raiders and Carr have a mutual decision to make this offseason, and sources say the choice of the head coach will be a factor. Carr has made it clear that his preference is to stay in Vegas, but he has a year left on his five-year, $125 million deal and has earned a near top-of-the-market extension. Whether general manager Mike Mayock stays could also affect Carr's future. The 30-year-old signal-caller impressed both on and off the field during a year with extreme turmoil within the organization. Carr finished the regular season with a career-high 4,804 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, 14 interceptions and a 94 quarterback rating.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr completed 20 of 36 passes for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers. RB Josh Jacobs carried the ball 26 times for 132 yards and a touchdown; he also caught a pair of passes for 12 yards. WR Hunter Renfrow had four receptions for 13 yards and two touchdowns. WR Bryan Edwards led the team with 63 yards on four grabs. TE Darren Waller posted two catches for 22 yards. On defense, LB Denzel Perryman had a team-high nine tackles (eight solo).

Jan 2 5:53pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr went 24-for-31 for 255 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: Carr has been held one touchdown or fewer in each of the last seven games and has thrown at least 250 yards in three of those games. He will be facing the Los Angeles Chargers next week and probably will only be an option in two quarterback leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 2 4:50pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr completed 24-of-31 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against the Indianapolis Colts. The signal-caller didn't play that well, but he was able to work with his medley of lackluster receivers to craft a win against a good team to keep his team in the hunt. Carr's hot start to the season was quickly debunked, and lately, his mediocrity in fantasy has been showcased. Still, it must be recognized that Carr's top receivers consist of Hunter Renfrow and Zay Jones with tight end Darren Waller out. Therefore, if the Raiders bring in more talent in the off-season, Carr could quickly become a late-round flier and comfortable waiver wire option next season. The 30-year-old is a decent QB2 or backup in Dynasty and Superflex leagues, but he will remain relatively irrelevant in standard leagues until further notice.

Dec 31 9:03pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr (ribs) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 31, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: Carr has posted only one touchdown or less in each of the last six games and has only one 300-yard game during that span. He will be facing a good Indianapolis Colts defense but could be an option in two-quarterback leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 31 5:03pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders DT Johnathan Hankins (back) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Week 17 versus the Indianapolis Colts. QB Derek Carr (ribs), LB Divine Deablo (shoulder, elbow), TE Daniel Helm (knee), RB Josh Jacobs (ribs), TE Foster Moreau (abdomen) and OT Brandon Parker (knee) practiced in full Friday, Dec. 31, and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr (ribs) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Spin: Carr probably will have to deal with some pain with his injured ribs but should be in uniform for the Week 17 game. He will be facing a good Indianapolis Colts defense and probably only an option in two-quarterback leagues.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr (ribs) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 29.

Fantasy Spin: Carr had a great start to the season but has been held to one passing touchdown or fewer in each of his last six games. He will be facing a good Indianapolis Colts defense this week and should only be an option in two-quarterback leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 28 8:50am ET

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (ribs) is dealing with sore ribs and not a chest contusion as reported initially, per interim head coach Rich Bisaccia. He is expected to play in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts. The 30-year-old said it hurts when he coughs, and Carr could be limited in practice this week. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation, but the sore ribs shouldn't affect his availability for Sunday's game. He's thrown for 4,363 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions over 15 games in 2021. Carr is a mid-range QB2 against a Colts defense that ranks 25th versus fantasy quarterbacks in 2021.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 4:00pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr completed 20 of 25 passes for 201 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 17-13 come-from-behind win over the Denver Broncos. Despite throwing an interception in the first half and appearing to give the Broncos room to take the game over, the 30-year-old signal-caller did a better job minimizing his mistakes in Week 16. The question now is which version of Carr will show up in Week 17 against an Indianapolis Colts team that has won three straight.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 2:30pm ET

For the second straight week, the Denver Broncos defense did more than enough to help the team get the win, but the offense failed to capitalize in the 17-13 loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. In the loss, the Broncos recovered two fumbles, picked off a pass that was nearly returned for a touchdown by defensive end Bradley Chubb, and sacked quarterback Derek Carr two times in the game. Although Denver allowed 342 total yards to the Raiders in Week 16, they held them to only 17 total points, giving fantasy managers that streamed them this week a solid showing. The Broncos defense will have a tough task in Week 17 against a Los Angeles Chargers team coming off an embarrassing loss, but they're tied for the fewest points allowed per game (17.3) this year.

From RotoBaller

Dec 26 11:43pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr completed 20-of-25 passes for 201 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos while rushing for five yards.

Fantasy Spin: Carr has passed for 4,363 yards and 20 touchdowns, but a good majority of that production was in the first half of the season. He has devolved into a low-end QB2 as the team has transitions from Jon Gruden to interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, who seems to like to run and pound it more. The Raiders are on the road in Week 17 at Indianapolis.

From TheHuddle

Dec 25 3:20pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has a tall task on his hands on Sunday against the Denver Broncos to the point it's probably safer if fantasy managers don't play him. The 30-year-old signal-caller completed 25 of 38 passes for 236 yards with one touchdown and one interception against the Cleveland Browns on Monday, and that third-quarter interception almost lost the game for Vegas. Although Carr threw for 341 yards with two touchdowns against Denver earlier in the season, he has had trouble getting into the endzone ever since Vegas came out of their bye week. Add to it that Carr likely won't have Darren Waller to throw to for a fourth straight game, and it all adds up to managers needing to look elsewhere.

From RotoBaller

Dec 20 9:00pm ET

The Cleveland Browns defense played well in a 16-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15. Cleveland forced two turnovers, one on a strip-sack of Derek Carr and later intercepting Carr in the fourth quarter. The Browns finished with two sacks but were unable to keep the Raiders from kicking a game-winning field goal as time expired. The Cleveland defense will not be a recommended fantasy option against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16.
