Dynasty | The New York Giants trade back into the first round to select Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart at No. 25. Dynasty Analysis: Immediately after the pick, head coach Brian Daboll was quoted saying, "Russ will be our starter in the spring as they get started." Which is sort of like naming Wilson the starter, but we have a long way to go. In Dynasty value, Winston can be safely dropped in all but the very deepest of SuperFlex leagues, while Wilson's value will continue to stagnate in the QB32 range.
The New York Giants traded back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to take Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with the No. 25 overall pick. It was thought that the Giants might make a move into the first round to select a QB. However, it was presumed that Colorado signal-caller Shedeur Sanders would be the pick. Dart had improved in each of his seasons in college, culminating in a solid 2024 in which he tossed 4,279 yards and 29 TDs on a 69.3% completion percentage. Although Dart was not initially considered a first-round prospect, he had gained steam over the last few months of the process. It's an interesting situation in New York, as he'll have some time to learn behind Giants' off-season acquisitions Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson for the foreseeable future. The 21-year-old possesses a bit of dual-threat ability, making him a more tantalizing option than Wilson or Winston for fantasy. Still, when he may hit the field is unclear.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe is hearing from teams that wouldn't be shocked if Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is the second QB off the board after Miami's Cam Ward goes to the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 overall. There will be a potential race at the quarterback position later in the first round on Thursday night, and the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers have been showing interest in Dart. The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the Giants are trying to acquire a second first-round pick at the back end of the round for the very purpose of landing a signal-caller. The belief is that teams trying to trade back into the first round for a QB will need to jump the Steelers at No. 21. The G-Men signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, but they are fully expected to draft a QB this week to potentially compete with Wilson for the starting gig in training camp.

The Cleveland Browns and New York Giants both like Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart heading into the first round of the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night, multiple sources told ESPN's Jordan Raanan over the last couple days. Cleveland holds the No. 2 overall pick, while the G-Men have the No. 3 pick. Neither team is going to select Dart that early if they hold onto their early picks in the first round. However, if Dart remains available near the end of the first round, both teams could be looking to trade back into the first round to take Dart as their future franchise signal-caller. The Denver Broncos have reportedly been fielding offers for the No. 20 overall pick, which could be right in the wheelhouse for a team like the Browns or Giants to trade back up into the first round. The Pittsburgh Steelers, who are just as desperate for a QB, sit at No. 21 overall.

The New Orleans Saints have a shaky quarterback position after the report of Derek Carr's shoulder injury and have been rumored to be interested in Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders or Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Dianna Russini reports that New Orleans is open to taking the best player available (likely on defense) and selecting a quarterback later in the draft. Potential candidates for that pick include one of the Georgia edge rushers, Jalon Walker or Mykel Williams. Many mock drafts around the industry have slotted a quarterback for the Saints with that selection, but it sounds like that is far from a certainty, and it might even be unlikely.

SNY's Connor Hughes writes that Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is a name to watch for the New York Giants as a trade-up option near the end of the first round of Thursday night's 2025 NFL draft. Sources are saying that head coach Brian Daboll is high on Dart as one of the top QB prospects in this year's class behind Miami's Cam Ward. Dart's toughness is something that Daboll values when he looks for a signal-caller. Other NFL teams are in on Dart, too, which is why the Giants may want to trade back into the first round if they really like him. At No. 3 overall, Hughes writes that there's not much out there connecting Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders to New York, and the hype has cooled dramatically from where it was in December. If the Giants were to land Dart late in the first round or early in the second round, he could push veteran Russell Wilson for the starting job in training camp this summer.

There is skepticism that the New Orleans Saints will take Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders if he's available at their pick at No. 9 overall in this year's NFL draft on Thursday night, even with Derek Carr's (shoulder) availability in question for the start of the 2025 season this fall. The Saints are believed to be more interested in taking an offensive or defensive lineman with their first-round pick this year. However, there is a belief that they do want to select a QB this year, just maybe not at No. 9 overall. "I don't think New Orleans is taking Shedeur. I think they're hot and heavy on Jaxson Dart," a personnel executive said. Still, it would be a surprise to see New Orleans take Dart at No. 9 overall. The Ole Miss product could be squarely in the mix to be taken with the Saints' second-round pick, though, at No. 40 overall -- according to sources, the Saints have already made calls about trading up in the second round.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac said on The Rich Eisen Show that the Pittsburgh Steelers really like both Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart and Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders. "I will tell you Rich that they have a first-round grade on Jaxson Dart, and they really like Shedeur Sanders," Dulac said. "Despite whatever post was put out there that he had a terrible meeting (and) it did not go well. Nothing could be further from the truth. They like the guy. They had a great meeting with him." Pittsburgh has yet to sign future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers and have only Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson on their QB depth chart heading into the draft, so many are predicting that they will address the position with the 21st overall pick in the first round on Thursday night. However, Dulac thinks the team prefers to go with a defensive lineman with their first-round pick. There's a greater chance that Sanders is gone by pick No. 21.

Several sources told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz that Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart won't fall out of the first round, so if the New York Giants elect to take either Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter or Colorado wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter at No. 3 overall next Thursday night in the NFL draft, they might be inclined to move up from No. 34 overall in the second round to take Dart. Schultz writes that Dart's swashbuckling style and flair for the dramatic seem tailor-made for New York, and sources indicate that Giants head coach Brian Daboll likes him. Although the G-Men have done their homework on Dart, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, Alabama's Jalen Milroe and Louisville's Tyler Shough, they aren't completely desperate at the position after adding both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency.

According to Carolina Panthers general manager Dan Morgan, the team is "open to trading back" from the No. 8 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. "I think we're definitely open to trading back and acquiring more picks," Morgan said. "I think we're gonna be open for all possibilities. Let's put it that way." The Panthers have nine picks in next week's draft and are looking to build depth on both sides of the ball. The team is expected to have a defense-heavy draft after ranking last in total yards per game allowed a season ago. If a team wants to make a move for Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart or Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in Round 1, Carolina could be a team interested in doing a deal.

The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and despite the need at quarterback after the failed Deshaun Watson experience, the team is expected to take either Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with the early selection. However, ESPN's Jordan Reid speculates that Cleveland could either trade back into the first round to select or quarterback or address the position in Round 2 with the No. 33 overall selection. Colorado's Shedeur Sanders or Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart are potential targets if a trade-up occurs, while Alabama's Jalen Milroe or Louisville's Tyler Shough would make sense at the start of Day 2. For now, Kenny Pickett is penciled in as Cleveland's starter, but the team will almost certainly select a quarterback at some point in late April's draft.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart visited with the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday and will fly to Las Vegas to see the Raiders next. Schefter also noted that the 21-year-old has spent "considerable time" with the Giants, Saints, and Rams throughout the interview process. Dart's stock has risen over the past few months, and he was mocked to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of Mel Kiper Jr.'s most recent mock draft. The Kaysville, Utah, native improved steadily each of his collegiate seasons and put it all together in his final year at Ole Miss. It's unclear whether he would see the field immediately, as he currently projects as a backup per his prospect grade. Still, with quarterbacks getting pushed up boards in recent years, the trend will likely continue.

With the Pittsburgh Steelers still waiting for free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers to make a decision on who he will play with next in 2025, if at all, general manager Omar Khan said "all options are on the table through free agency, trade or draft." The Steelers still have two QB spots to fill, and Khan said it's "safe to assume" one of those spots will go to a veteran signal-caller like Rodgers. Outside of Rodgers, Joe Flacco and Carson Wentz are the best options among free agents, while Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins could be the most realistic trade target. However, Cousins' financials and his no-trade clause make him difficult to move. Although it's considered a weak draft class at the position, Pittsburgh has done their due diligence on players like Jalen Milroe, Tyler Shough, Quinn Ewers and Jaxson Dart and they aren't ruling out taking a QB in the first round at pick No. 21.

The New Orleans Saints are expected to have many of their top people at Ole Miss's Pro Day on Friday, including head coach Kellen Moore, to watch quarterback Jaxson Dart throw. However, the most interesting prospect for the Saints on Friday at Ole Miss is likely cornerback Trey Amos, according to NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill. The Saints aren't moving on from Derek Carr just yet in 2025, but it would make a lot of sense for the team to grab their signal-caller of the future in this year's NFL draft in Moore's first season at the helm to begin grooming him. Dart should be on the board when the Saints pick at No. 9 overall in the first round, but that would be considered a pretty big reach for the Ole Miss QB, which is why Amos makes more sense with their first pick of the 2025 draft. Still, Dart threw for 4,279 yards, 29 TDs and six interceptions in 2024 and is the consensus No. 3 QB in this year's draft class.

Dynasty | The latest NFL Mock Draft on ESPN has Jaxson Dart going to the Rams with pick #26. Dynasty Analysis: It seems clear the first two quarterbacks to be drafted will be Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. However, Dart is making his case to be the third one taken and teams like to take quarterbacks late in round one to get the guaranteed fourth year on their rookie contracts. This could be the case with Dart, who would sit behind Matthew Stafford on a year-to-year basis before possibly being the future for the Rams. This could be a sneaky good pick in both fantasy and reality as Dart does have some good talent. Stay tuned.
Former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is one of the top signal-caller prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class. It has been assumed for much of the pre-draft process that Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders will be first-round picks, but momentum is building for Dart to be the third quarterback selected inside Round 1. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. projects Dart to be selected by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 9 overall pick, and DraftKings Sportsbook's current line for over 2.5 quarterbacks in Round 1 is set at -330. Dart began his college career at USC before transferring to Ole Miss ahead of the 2022 campaign. The three-year SEC starter compiled a 28-10 record behind 72 passing touchdowns and 22 interceptions. Potential QB-needy teams set to pick outside the top five include the Saints, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Indianapolis Colts.

The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that he's coming around to the idea that the Cleveland Browns' desperation for a quarterback might drive them to explore trading up to No. 1 overall to take Miami's Cam Ward or take a QB at No. 2 overall (likely Colorado's Shedeur Sanders). It's also possible the Browns trade back into the bottom part of the first round, in which they'd be targeting Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough or Jalen Milroe. Jackson believes the Browns were initially thinking they could get Kirk Cousins on the cheap if the Atlanta Falcons released him, but now that the price to acquire him in a trade will include at least one draft pick and a more significant salary than they anticipated, Cleveland is scrambling for a QB option to compete with Kenny Pickett. Outside of the draft, if a Cousins trade is off the table, Russell Wilson appears to be first on the Browns' list.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler writes that Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart looked to be more comfortable as the week progressed during Senior Bowl practices last week. Dart's draft stock could be rising after Alabama's Jalen Milroe struggled during the week. "I could see him getting pushed up in the draft, maybe not in the first round but close," a scout said. "He shouldn't be a first-rounder, but it's a weak class and that's how these things go sometimes." Fowler thinks the safer bet for Dart would be early on Day 2 of the draft, and an NFC executive said that Lane Kiffin's system at Ole Miss is a "mess" for incoming NFL quarterbacks. There's a case to be made that Dart is the QB3 of what is considered a weak QB class behind Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders. In his final season at Ole Miss, Dart threw for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns and only six interceptions.
Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart announced on his X account on Thursday that he is officially declaring for the 2025 NFL draft. Dart won't be considered one of the top QB prospects for what is generally considered a weak QB class. He initially joined USC in 2021 but transferred to Ole Miss before the 2022 season after playing in six games as a freshman for the Trojans. In three seasons at Ole Miss, Dart had a 65.7 completion percentage with 10,617 passing yards, 72 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He tacked on 1,500 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 371 rushing attempts. Dart's best season came in 2024 when he threw for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdown and only six interceptions. Although Dart almost certainly won't hear his name called in the first round of the 2025 draft, ESPN considers him a top-200 draft prospect.
