Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce recently said that he was never seriously close to retirement during the offseason and did not rule out playing beyond the 2025 season. 'I don't really think I thought about it much,' Kelce said following minicamp Wednesday, June 18. ' ... I love coming in to work every single day. It wasn't a very tough one for me. I know I'm getting older, but at the same time I still feel like I've got a lot I can prove in this league. With that being said, it really wasn't that hard of a decision for me.'
Fantasy Spin: The 35-year-old Kelce had a down season by his standards in 2024, with 97 catches for 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns over 16 regular-season games. That being said, he should still be viewed as a starting option in all fantasy formats.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is set to turn 36 years old in October, but head coach Andy Reid told reporters on Thursday, June 19, that he has no intention to limit Kelce's snaps this season. 'I'm not feeling that. It would be similar to last year, I would imagine. ... So, he's in great shape right now, so I think he's looking forward to getting going. 'I always watch him. I always keep an eye on him. I know he's getting older. He doesn't know he is getting older, but I do so I can be the bad guy in some cases there and if I think it's catching up to him a little bit, I'll pull off and put him where he needs to be. Other than that, he hasn't shown me any of that yet. He's done real well,' Reid said.
Fantasy Spin: Outside of a three-week window in October during which he barely missed the threshold, Kelce played at least 80% of the team's offensive snaps in all but one regular-season game. While 2024 was a bit of a disappointment from a fantasy perspective - mostly due to a career-low three touchdowns - Kelce posted his seventh straight season of at least 90 receptions. That streak figures to end this year with the Chiefs having a multitude of weapons at Patrick Mahomes' disposal now, but fantasy managers should not be surprised if he remains a strong mid-level TE1.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he's not inclined to limit tight end Travis Kelce's snaps this year or make concessions to his age (35) after he briefly contemplated retirement in the offseason. "I'm not feeling that," Reid said. "It would be similar to last year I would imagine as it goes. So, he's in great shape right now, so I think he's looking forward to getting going." However, Reid said he will continue to monitor Kelce as training camp and the regular season progress and makes changes if necessary. Kelce had the third-highest snap count and ran the fourth-most routes of his career in 2024, which bodes well for him staying heavily involved in the offense in 2025. However, the 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro's numbers took another dip (97-823-3 line in 16 regular-season starts), making it clear that his ceiling probably is no longer as an elite, high-end fantasy TE1.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who skipped voluntary organized team activities, is expected to return for mandatory minicamp this week, a source told Chiefs Digest's Matt Derrick. Kelce briefly considered retirement this offseason after the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but he ultimately will return for a 13th season. The 35-year-old 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro has slimmed down this offseason and is fully bought in, per quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 2024 campaign was one of his weakest as a pro, catching 97 of his 133 targets for 823 yards and only three touchdowns in 16 regular-season starts. Kelce's three TDs were his fewest since his rookie year in 2013. He's still a top-10 fantasy tight end going into the 2025 season, but Kelce is no longer the elite, high-end option at the position that we've become accustomed to.
From RotoBaller
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will "debut a bit of a slimmer look" at training camp. The multi-time All-Pro wasn't happy with his conditioning last season, so he lost 25 pounds in an attempt to improve his productivity. He is coming off one of his worst years since entering the National Football League in 2013, finishing the 2024 campaign with 97 receptions while amassing career-lows in yards (823) and touchdowns (three). The Chiefs are stacked on the offensive side of the ball. However, there is no denying the chemistry between Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Only time will tell if the weight loss will help Kelce get back on track, although it appears his stock is starting to trend up heading toward training camp.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce did not participate in optional organized team activities earlier this week but he will be in attendance for mandatory minicamp next week. He has told people close to him that he lost approximately 25 pounds this offseason, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Fantasy Spin: The 35-year-old Kelce had played at a heavier weight in 2024 and experienced a slight decline in production, with 97 catches for 823 yards and three touchdowns over 16 regular-season games. However, a down year for him would be a great year for most other tight ends, so he can still be considered as a solid TE1 option in all fantasy formats.
From TheHuddle
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce looks like he feels better than he did at the start of last season, according to QB Patrick Mahomes. 'He's in here,' Mahomes said. 'He's working. I know his body feels good. I think he feels better than even last year before going into last season. I think he's motivated to go out there and have an even better year than he had this last.' 'If it's the last ride, you would never know,' Mahomes said. 'The way he's talking about football. The way he's talking about working and trying to be even better this year than he was last year. He doesn't seem like a guy like it's his last ride, like he's tired of the job.'
Fantasy Spin: Kelce was the TE10 in non-PPR leagues and the TE5 in PPR formats. He looked devoid of a burst last season, but he's still going to get his counting numbers. Just don't expect him to be north of that TE5 range.

Dynasty | Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is reportedly coming back for the 2025 season. Dynasty Analysis: Pat McAfee is reporting this on his own, so it's far from official. However, it seems his "source" is none other than Kelce himself, who seemingly has a bad taste in his mouth after being blown out in the Super Bowl. Kelce is also apparently saying he's committed to being in the best shape of his life after a relatively unproductive season (by his standards) last year. His 97/823/3 line is far from his prime, but if Kelce does indeed come back, he'll do so as a low-end TE1 at the very least. Stay tuned.
Sources told Pat McAfee that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is "coming back for sure" in 2025 after briefly contemplating retirement following the 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. "I'm gonna get in the best shape of my life this offseason. I've got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and I can't go out like that!!!!" Kelce also said via sources. We haven't exactly heard it from Kelce's mouth directly, but it's a pretty good indication that the 35-year-old four-time All-Pro and 10-time Pro Bowler will be returning in 2025. By Kelce's standards, 2024 was a down year with a 97-823-3 line in 16 regular-season games. His 823 receiving yards were his fewest since his rookie year in 2013, when he played in just one game, and his three TDs were also his fewest since 2013. Kelce will still be important in KC's offense if he returns, but his days of being an elite, high-end TE1 in fantasy could be over.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce told the Pat McAfee Show that he is 'coming back for sure', going to 'get in the best shape of my life this offseason' and has 'a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game' on Thursday, Feb. 27.
Fantasy Spin: It remains to be seen how much the 35-year-old Kelce (36 in October) has left coming off his worst season as a pro (career-low 823 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns). With that said, Kelce's bad year is a great year for most tight ends, so it would not be a surprise if he remains a top-five fantasy tight end in 2025. The expectations for him need to be considerably lowered from the lofty 90-catch, 1,000-yard standard he set earlier in his career.
From TheHuddle
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is believed to be deciding on his playing future, but general manager Brett Veach said the Chiefs expect Kelce to play in 2025.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation over the next few weeks because Kelce likely will make a decision soon. He is a big part of the Chiefs passing game and will be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues if he continues playing.
From TheHuddle
Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said on Tuesday that the team anticipates tight end Travis Kelce playing in 2025. "Hopefully he has a magical season to end his magical career," Veach said. Kelce, a four-time All-Pro and 10-time Pro Bowler, has been contemplating retirement this offseason after the blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in which he had four catches for 39 yards. The 35-year-old caught 97 of his 133 targets for 823 yards and only three touchdowns in 16 regular-season starts. He's scheduled to make $17 million this year -- $4.5 million in salary, $11.5 million on a roster bonus due on March 15 and $1 million on a roster bonus due on Aug. 1. Veach said that the March 15 deadline on Kelce's bonus isn't a deadline for Kelce to make a decision, but Chiefs surely wouldn't want to pay $11.5 million to Kelce for him to walk away. Stay tuned.
From RotoBaller
Updating previous reports, the Kansas City Chiefs want TE Travis Kelce to make a decision about his status for the 2025 season by March 14, according to a source. It is uncertain if he will return for his 12th NFL season or retire.
Fantasy Spin: If Kelce is still on the Chiefs' active roster on March 15, he would automatically receive a roster bonus of $11.5 million, so the team would like a final decision before that date. This would allow Kansas City to make alternate plans if he retires, although they would be sacrificing the first few days of NFL free agency, which opens on March 10. Kelce would be considered a TE1 option in all fantasy formats if he decides to continue his playing career.
From TheHuddle
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce said he will be taking some time to decide on his playing future, but DE Charles Omenihu said he believes that Kelce will play for the Chiefs in 2025.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation over the next few weeks to see if Kelce will continue his playing career. He was a big part of the passing game again this season and will be a No. 1 fantasy tight end in 2025 if he plays.
From TheHuddle
On his New Heights podcast, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said that he is planning to take his time this offseason as he decides whether to retire from professional football following a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. "I'm gonna take some time to figure it out. And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it's gonna be a wholehearted decision and I'm not half-assing it, and I'm fully here for them," Kelce said. "I think I can play, it's just whether or not I'm motivated or it's the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility." The 35-year-old 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro managed 97 receptions in 16 regular-season games but had only three touchdowns and 823 yards, his fewest since his rookie season when he played just one game. If Kelce does return in 2025, he'll still be on the TE1 radar in fantasy, but his days of being the first TE off the board are over.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is mulling retirement. 'I'm gonna take some time to figure it out. And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it's gonna be a wholehearted decision, and I'm fully here for them,' Kelce said. 'I think I can play, it's just whether or not I'm motivated or it's the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.'
Fantasy Spin: Despite a down year, he was still the TE5 in PPR leagues last season. That's about the range to expect to take him next year if he returns.
From TheHuddle
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught four passes for 39 yards in the 22-40 Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The 35-year-old needed two touchdowns to tie Jerry Rice's playoff touchdown record, but failed to catch any in his last two games. The Eagles defense swarmed Patrick Mahomes on nearly every drop back, making it challenging to execute the passing game. Kelce was targeted six times, second on the team behind Xavier Worthy. The veteran tight end was unable to make a considerable difference in the game and his future in the league is uncertain after this loss. Kelce is a three-time Super Bowl champion and has a case to be the greatest tight end in NFL history. Whether he decides to return next season or not, Kelce is destined for the Hall of Fame.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 21 of his 32 passes for 257 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in a 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. He was also sacked six times and lost a fumble. RB Kareem Hunt and RB Isiah Pacheco combined for 16 rushing yards on six carries, and WR Xavier Worthy finished with eight receptions for 157 yards and two touchdowns. TE Travis Kelce had four receptions for 39 yards, and WR DeAndre Hopkins had two grabs for 18 yards and a score. LB Drue Tranquill had a game-high 11 tackles and a sack.
