New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson said he wants to be the team's featured back in 2024 as he gets set to enter the final year of his rookie deal. In his third year in the NFL, a high-ankle sprain limited the 25-year-old to just 12 games. In 156 rushing attempts, he averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry for 619 yards and four touchdowns, adding 38 receptions on 51 targets for 238 yards through the air. He was essentially New England's lead back before getting hurt, albeit in an offense that was among the worst in the league because of quarterback issues. Stevenson should be able to bounce back with better health in 2024 after accumulating 1,400 scrimmage yards in 2022, but what the Patriots do at QB will have a big effect on his fantasy upside.

The New England Patriots placed running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday to make room for cornerback Marco Wilson, according to a source. Stevenson missed practice on Wednesday, hasn't played the last three games due to an ankle sprain and will now miss the final two regular season games for the Patriots. The 25-year-old third-year back was limited by New England's poor offense in 2023, but he still carried plenty of fantasy appeal as the team's lead back when he was healthy. Stevenson finishes 2023 with 156 carries for 619 yards (career-low 4.0 yards per carry) and four rushing touchdowns, adding 38 receptions for 238 yards through the air in 12 games played. Ezekiel Elliott will remain a volume-based, touchdown-dependent RB3/flex as the Pats' primary back in the last two games of the season.

Dec 27 3:00pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) remains sidelined at practice on Wednesday. Stevenson is dealing with an ankle sprain and has not played in any of the team's last three games. A missed practice to kick off the week isn't a good sign, but Stevenson still has two more days to get back on the field. As things stand now, though, it's looking like Ezekiel Elliott will continue on as New England's primary running back for a Week 17 contest against the Bills in Buffalo this Sunday. Zeke hasn't been very efficient on the ground in his last three starts -- he's averaging 2.67 yards per attempt on 45 carries -- but he's salvaged his fantasy value with more volume on 21 receptions (25 targets) for an additional 126 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Dec 22 5:50pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) has been ruled out for the upcoming Week 16 matchup against the Denver Broncos. As expected, Stevenson will miss this game after sitting out practice all week. He continues to work his way back from a high-ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 13. Given where the Patriots sit in the standings, it's unclear if Stevenson will play again this season. Ezekiel Elliott should remain the lead back and has seen a heavy workload during time as the starter. He should rank as a RB2 for this upcoming matchup versus Denver.

Dec 21 8:40pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson ankle) remained absent once again during Thursday's practice session. This isn't too surprising given the Patriots said back in Week 13 that Stevenson would miss several weeks. Now, the Pats have nothing to play for, so it's possible they sit Stevenson for the rest of the season. His absence would mean that Ezekiel Elliott would continue to start in the backfield. He's not the same player he used to be, but Elliott is still a possible RB2 against the shaky Denver Broncos defense in Week 16.

Dec 21 2:00pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) is missing a second consecutive day of practice leading up to their Sunday night game against the Denver Broncos. Stevenson suffered an ankle sprain in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers and has missed the following two games. A second DNP in a row does not offer much hope that fantasy managers will see him back in Week 16. Should Stevenson sit out his third consecutive game, Ezekiel Elliott will be the Patriots' top option out of the backfield. Elliott was the top-scoring running back in Week 14, accumulating 140 scrimmage yards and a score. He only logged 46 yards on 16 touches in Week 15, making him a volatile option against a Denver Broncos in Week 16.

Dec 20 2:40pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) remained absent from practice to kick off preparations on Wednesday for a Week 16 Sunday night battle against the Denver Broncos. Stevenson sprained his ankle on Dec. 3 and hasn't practiced or played since. A DNP to begin the practice week isn't a great sign that he'll be able to return this weekend, but he still has two more days to get back on the practice field. As of right now, fantasy managers shouldn't expect to have the 25-year-old available for the fantasy semifinals in most leagues. Ezekiel Elliott has served as New England's primary RB the last two games with Stevenson out, so that should continue if Stevenson misses a third straight game. Zeke has underwhelmed on the ground with 33 carries for 93 yards (2.82 yards per carry) in the last two games, but he has salvaged things with 12 receptions for 93 yards and a score.

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) remained absent from practice on Friday and has officially been ruled out for Week 15 versus the Kansas City Chiefs. While this is tough news for managers in the fantasy playoffs, it wasn't unexpected. The workhorse back continues to battle a high-ankle sprain, which is usually a multi-week injury. Until he can return, Ezekiel Elliott will operate as the Patriots' lead back. He looked great as a dual-purpose option against the Steelers last week but will face a tougher test in the heavily favored Chiefs. The veteran is a low-end fantasy RB2.

Dec 14 1:00pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) is missing from practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Stevenson sprained his ankle in the Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and did not play in last Thursday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's most likely to miss his second straight game in Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs, so fantasy managers should keep him on their benches heading into this weekend. Ezekiel Elliott went off last Thursday against the Steelers as New England's lead back with Stevenson sidelined, carrying the ball a season-high 22 times for 68 yards and catching a season-high seven passes for 72 yards and his first receiving score of the year. It's unreasonable to expect Zeke to have a repeat performance against the Chiefs this weekend, but he will be a volume-based RB2 for fantasy managers.

Dec 13 2:30pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) was absent for the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Stevenson tweaked his ankle in Week 13 and was unable to play on a short week last Thursday in the win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's currently off to a bad start this week and could certainly miss a second straight game this Sunday versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Fantasy managers would be wise to keep him on their benches for now. Ezekiel Elliott flourished as the lead back last week, seeing a season-high 22 carries for 68 yards while catching a season-high seven passes for an additional 72 yards and his first receiving TD of the year. Zeke would have RB2 upside once again against KC in Week 15 if Stevenson is unable to make progress towards playing by Sunday.

Dec 6 4:20pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) has officially been ruled out for the Week 14 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. Stevenson suffered the dreaded high-ankle sprain in Sunday's Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Not only will the 25-year-old sit out this week, but he's expected to miss more time as well. It's bad news for fantasy managers counting on New England's lead back to help them get into the playoffs in their leagues. An already terrible offense that was shut out last week will now turn to veteran Ezekiel Elliott as their backfield leader, with Ty Montgomery and JaMycal Hasty chipping in as backups. In this low-scoring offense, Zeke will be a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex in a bad matchup against Pittsburgh.

Dec 5 11:10am CT

Tests revealed that New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) suffered a right high-ankle sprain in the Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and is now expected to miss "a few weeks," according to a source. High-ankle sprains usually keep players out anywhere from three to five weeks, so fantasy managers realistically may not get Stevenson back before the end of their fantasy season. With the 25-year-old sidelined, Ezekiel Elliott (thigh) should operate as the team's primary back, beginning this Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ty Montgomery and JaMycal Hasty will battle for change-of-pace duties behind him. Given New England's terrible offense and tough matchup against Pittsburgh, Elliott will merely be a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex with the added volume.

Dec 4 5:30pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report. Stevenson reportedly suffered a sprained ankle early in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and never returned. The 25-year-old was undergoing more tests on Monday, but he's in line to miss some time, especially on a short week with the team facing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. Ezekiel Elliott (thigh) is also on the injury report, but he should be able to play this Thursday and would have added value as New England's primary backfield option if Stevenson is ruled out. The Patriots also have Ty Montgomery and JaMycal Hasty as backfield options.

According to ESPN's Jeff Howe, New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) is expected to "miss time." The 25-year-old injured his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Chargers, ending the day with 39 yards off nine carries. X-rays were negative, and there's a belief he suffered a sprain. But with the Patriots not looking like a playoff team, Stevenson could be done for the year. If that's the case, Ezekiel Elliott, who has 112 touches for 429 yards and two scores in 12 appearances this season, should be in line for more work. However, New England has struggled to get anything going offensively, so Elliott's value for fantasy managers could be minimal.

Dynasty | Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson left the loss against the Chargers with an ankle injury, Dynasty Analysis: Stevenson suffered what looked to be a serous injury in the game but X-rays have reportedly come back negative. He's going to undergo further testing but the expectation is he has suffered some kind of sprain. While that's good news, it's unlikely we see Stevenson for a bit as the Patriots sit at 2-10 and have a short week. In the end, this looks like a lost season for every member of the New England roster, Stevenson included.

X-rays came back negative on New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle), according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic. Stevenson exited in the first half of Sunday's game versus the Chargers and did not return, finishing the week with 39 rushing yards and a lost fumble. Howe notes that Stevenson likely suffered a sprain but will undergo an MRI to confirm the diagnosis. Regardless, it looks like there's a real chance Stevenson misses Thursday's game against the Steelers. If so, Ezekiel Elliott would lead the backfield, ranking as an RB3 in fantasy football.

Dec 3 2:10pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He finishes Week 13 with nine rushes for 39 yards, plus a reception for no gain. This is tough news for the Patriots whose recent struggles in the passing game have led to more attempts for the running backs. For the time being, Ezekiel Elliott will lead the backfield and could become a fantasy-relevant option if Stevenson misses extended time. He'll have very little time to recover before the Patriots face the Steelers on Thursday.

Dec 3 12:40pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson suffered a right ankle injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Stevenson was off to a solid start before going down, carrying the ball nine times for 40 yards. He fumbled on the play in which he was injured and went to the locker room afterward. He is currently questionable to return and the team should provide another update on him soon.

From RotoBaller

Dec 1 2:50pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson should be started in most fantasy leagues this week versus the Los Angeles Chargers. As the Patriots' passing offense proves to be unreliable, Stevenson has seen an increase in carries and short-yardage receptions. Over his last three contests, he has 273 rushing yards, 65 receiving yards, and two touchdowns. Even as Ezekiel Elliott maintains a role out of the backfield, Stevenson finds himself firmly in the RB2 tier ahead of Sunday's clash with a very suspect Los Angeles run defense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 26 3:10pm CT

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed 21 times for 98 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. He also caught all five of his targets for an additional nine yards through the air. The 25-year-old aided fantasy managers by eclipsing 100 scrimmage yards and adding a touchdown, and he further boosted his value in PPR leagues with the five catches. As the Patriots endure turmoil at quarterback, Stevenson will continue to see heavy usage on the ground and in the short-yardage passing game. He should be treated as a steady RB2 option in fantasy football.
