Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase finished the Week 18 win over the Browns by catching four of six targets for 19 yards. The Bengals had nothing to play for but pride on Sunday, and with Chase battling a shoulder injury over the last few weeks, the team didn't want to take any chances with their superstar wideout. Nonetheless, the 23-year-old capped off another strong year, finishing with 100 catches for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns. But with Chase entering his fourth season in the league, contract rumblings will run rampant until he signs a new deal. Yet, regardless of how talks pan out moving forward, he'll remain a first-round fantasy option heading into the 2024-25 campaign. He'll need Joe Burrow (wrist) to stay healthy if he hopes to come close to capturing the magic he had on the offensive end as a rookie.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) logged a full practice on Friday and was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 18 matchup with the Browns. The wideout had a monster performance in the Week 13 win over Jacksonville, catching 11 of 12 targets for 149 yards and a touchdown. However, he's fizzed since then, amassing just 10 grabs for 134 yards and no touchdowns. Chase also has battled a shoulder injury, keeping him out of the lineup for the Week 16 AFC North clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But all things considered, the former LSU Tiger can always have a productive fantasy showing whenever he's on the field. Unfortunately, the Bengals were eliminated from postseason contention after losing to the Chiefs in Week 17, so there's a chance Chase won't play a full 60 minutes.

Jan 4 6:50pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) was upgraded to a full practice participant on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Chase missed Week 16 with a separated shoulder but returned for the Week 17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and caught only three of his seven targets for 41 yards. Even though the Bengals have nothing to play for in Week 18 against the Cleveland Browns, Chase plans to play on Sunday, and he could see even more looks from quarterback Jake Browning with Tee Higgins (hamstring) looking unlikely to play. The 23-year-old will likely cost a pretty penny in DFS with the Browns resting key players as he looks to bounce back from a 10-134-0 line the last two weeks. In the Week 1 meeting against the Browns, Chase underwhelmed to the tune of five catches for 39 yards on nine targets.

Jan 3 6:30pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) had his repetitions limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Chase separated his shoulder in Week 15 and sat out the Week 16 game before returning to last week's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. In his return, Chase was targeted seven times and only caught three passes for 41 yards in a game where the Bengals couldn't get much going offensively on the road. The 23-year-old should be fine to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against a Cleveland Browns defense that could be resting key starters as they head into the playoffs. Chase should be started in all fantasy lineups this weekend, and he should be able to bounce back from last week's performance, especially if Tee Higgins (hamstring) doesn't play.

Jan 1 1:10am ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) finished with three catches for 41 yards in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. The former LSU Tiger was questionable entering this contest after missing the Week 16 meeting with the Steelers because of a shoulder injury. However, his return didn't benefit fantasy managers, considering he had one of his worst performances of the year. Nonetheless, with the Bengals eliminated from playoff contention, Chase may not play in Week 18 against the Browns. If that's the case, he'll end the 2023-24 campaign with 96 catches, a career-high, for 1,197 yards and seven touchdowns. Hopefully, with some adjustments, the 23-year-old can return to an elite level next season by posting numbers similar to what he had as a rookie.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the right direction ahead of kickoff. Indeed, his availability was confirmed after he underwent his normal pregame routine. Returning after a mere one-game absence, Chase will look to build on another strong season in which he has caught 93 passes for 1,156 yards and seven touchdowns. The former first-round pick ranks as a strong WR1 option in fantasy leagues this week.

Dec 31 8:30am ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) has been listed as questionable but is "likely" to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. If confirmed as active pregame, the star pass-catcher will have missed just one game due to the injury he suffered in Week 15 versus Minnesota. Chase has survived the Bengals' quarterback change from Joe Burrow (wrist) to Jake Browning, ultimately catching 93 passes for 1,156 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of 14 games. He remains a strong WR1 option in fantasy football.

Dec 29 2:50pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) was limited in practice on Friday for the second straight day and is now questionable to play in Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Chase separated his right shoulder and sprained his AC joint in Week 15 and did not play in last week's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 23-year-old is fighting to return this weekend and will be a must-start option for fantasy managers trying to win a championship this week. However, the fact that the Bengals play in the later slate of games on Sunday will put fantasy managers in a difficult position if they bank on him playing and then he turns out to be inactive. Hopefully we'll have a better idea of whether he'll actually play in Week 17 by Saturday evening/Sunday morning. Chase's return would be good news for quarterback Jake Browning and bad news for receivers Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.

Dec 28 3:30pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) was dressed in uniform for practice on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session due to a separated shoulder that kept him out of the Week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's looking like the Pro Bowl receiver has a good chance of returning in Week 17 to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Kelsey Conway. The 23-year-old likely only put in a limited practice on Thursday and still isn't a lock to play this weekend against the Chiefs. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier on Thursday that he'd be surprised if Chase was able to play in Week 17. How much he does on Friday could be the deciding factor in whether he'll play on Sunday. If Chase misses another game, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will be in line for expanded roles yet again.

Dec 28 12:50pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) did not practice with the team on Wednesday as he continues to deal with a separated right shoulder that he suffered in the Week 15 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings. Chase's injury has a two- to four-week timetable, so NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said he'd be surprised if Chase is ready to play in Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 23-year-old All-Pro pass-catcher is making some progress with his shoulder, but fantasy managers shouldn't hold out hope that they'll have him available for championship matchups this weekend. If Chase misses another game this Sunday, which seems more likely than not, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will continue to operate as quarterback Jake Browning's top two targets in the passing game against an underrated Chiefs defense on the road.

Dec 27 3:30pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) was working off on a side field with trainers at practice on Wednesday. Chase is being considered day-to-day with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. He suffered the injury in Week 15 and sat out of the Week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Saturday. It sounds as though Chase is making progress, but it doesn't guarantee that he'll play this Sunday versus the Kansas City Chiefs. When healthy, Chase is a must-start in starting fantasy lineups, even with quarterback Jake Browning running the offense. Tee Higgins has a much higher fantasy ceiling and floor when Chase isn't playing. Tyler Boyd and rookie Andrei Iosivas would have expanded roles again as well this weekend if Chase is forced to miss more time.

Dec 20 12:10pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) will not play in Week 16 on Saturday against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a source. Chase suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in Saturday's overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings, although the Bengals are optimistic about his prognosis moving forward. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is calling Chase more "week-to-week" than anything, so there's a chance he also has to miss the Week 17 showdown in Kansas City against the Chiefs. The 23-year-old did not practice on Tuesday and probably won't practice the rest of the week. It's a tough break for fantasy managers still competing for a championship this week. With Chase out this weekend, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will see more targets, but Chase's absence is bad news for the upside of quarterback Jake Browning as a streamer.

Dec 19 7:40pm ET

The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to proceed cautiously with star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder), and sources say that Chase is likely to miss at "least one week," putting his status for Saturday's Week 16 contest against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers and potentially the Week 17 game against the Kansas City Chiefs in jeopardy. Chase didn't practice on Tuesday, and fantasy managers should move him to their benches for now in expectation of him sitting out this Saturday. The 23-year-old suffered an AC joint sprain in Saturday's overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings, but the Bengals are optimistic about his prognosis moving forward. It's terrible timing for fantasy managers that advanced to the semifinal matchup in their league this week. Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are going to see more targets for however long Chase is out.

Dec 19 1:40pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said the team is taking it day to day with wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) and he won't practice on Tuesday. "We'll see as the week goes," Taylor said. A report surfaced on Monday night that Chase is likely to miss some time after spraining the AC joint in his right shoulder in Saturday's overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings. The Bengals prefer to take things day-to-day with the 23-year-old Pro Bowl pass-catcher, but fantasy managers should be preparing for their semifinal matchups now as though Chase won't be available to them. If Chase is out in Week 16, Tee Higgins, who had two touchdowns in Week 15, and Tyler Boyd would see more targets against the Pittsburgh Steelers this Saturday. Rookie running back Chase Brown is also likely to continue having a bigger role as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.

Dec 18 10:30pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) is likely to miss some time after undergoing an MRI exam on his separated shoulder on Monday, according to sources. Chase is expected to be sidelined for this Saturday's game against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16, and his absence could extend beyond that, too. It's pretty bad news for the Bengals as they chase a playoff spot in the AFC and Chase's fantasy managers with the semifinals in finals upcoming in most leagues. The 23-year-old suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in Saturday's overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings. Fantasy managers should plan to be without him for at least this week. If Chase is ultimately ruled out, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will see more targets, while rookie running back Chase Brown should remain heavily involved in the short passing game.

Dec 17 3:40pm ET

According to Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) is considered "day-to-day." The superstar wideout had four catches for 64 yards in the Week 15 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings. However, he didn't make it to the end of the contest, getting ruled out with an AC shoulder joint sprain. At any rate, fantasy managers appreciate Taylor's optimism regarding Chase's availability moving ahead. Still, there's a good chance he won't be available in Week 16 versus the Steelers. Fortunately, Tee Higgins got his act together against the Vikings, scoring two touchdowns, meaning he should continue to benefit if Chase misses time. Guys like Tyler Boyd and Trenton Irwin could also see more targets, with Joe Mixon and Chase Brown potentially seeing more attention out of the backfield.

Dec 17 11:10am ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) has been diagnosed with an AC joint sprain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The star pass-catcher will undergo additional testing to determine the severity of the injury, but Rapoport notes that there is a chance he'll be ready to play in time for Week 16. In the event that he doesn't play, though, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd would see more opportunities in a Bengals offense that continues to trend upward. The Bengals face the Steelers next Saturday at 4:30 p.m. EST.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) exited during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Minnesota Vikings and is officially questionable to return, according to an official announcement from the team. The star pass-catcher was taken to the locker room, leaving Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd as quarterback Jake Browning's top healthy targets. At the time of his departure, Chase had caught four passes for 64 yards.

Dec 16 4:10pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) has been downgraded to out for the remainder of Week 15 versus the Minnesota Vikings. He went to the locker room near the end of the fourth quarter and was initially listed as questionable. However, Chase found his way back to the sideline in street clothes, making it clear he wouldn't return on Saturday. At the time of his departure, the star pass-catcher had caught four passes for 64 yards. Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will serve as the top targets for quarterback Jake Browning until Chase can return.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 8:20pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (ankle) appeared on the injury report during the week. Fortunately, after practicing in a limited capacity on Tuesday and Wednesday, he logged a full session on Thursday. That said, after accumulating 11 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown in the overtime win over Jacksonville in Week 13, the former LSU Tiger had just three receptions for 29 yards versus the Colts. Without question, Chase isn't as imposing with Jake Browning under center. But he's still one of the best wideouts in the National Football League, so he should be included in all fantasy lineups for Saturday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings.
