Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr.'s 325 touches last year were third-most in the NFL for a RB, but head coach Doug Pederson said that Etienne as a workhorse back "is not the recipe" he prefers. Pederson mentioned that D'Ernest Johnson was injured in 2023, and Tank Bigsby was learning as a rookie. The head coach said he'd consider knocking some of Etienne's reps down next season in order to keep him healthy over the course of the year. All in all, the 25-year-old topped 1,000 rushing yards for the second time in his two NFL seasons, and he also improved as a pass-catcher with 58 catches for 476 yards. Etienne will remain the Jaguars' lead back and will be an RB1 target for fantasy managers, but you'll need to keep in mind that if the team has it their way, Etienne's total touches will be managed more.

Jan 7 7:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. finished Sunday's loss to the Titans with 57 yards off 16 carries. He added five catches for 30 yards. The Jaguars didn't make the postseason. However, Etienne can't take much of the blame, considering he was a top fantasy back all year. The 24-year-old will finish the 2023-24 campaign with 12 touchdowns (11 rushing, one receiving). He also surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the second straight season. Etienne will draw plenty of interest from fantasy managers in drafts heading into next season, and he may even get taken in the first round in many of them.

Jan 6 2:00pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. heads into a crucial Week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Without his QB1 last week, Etienne was fed early and often against one of the NFL's worst run defenses. The former first-round pick was actually having a modest game until he broke free down the right sideline that resulted in a 62-yard touchdown. He then capped the day with a one-yard score late in the fourth to give the Jaguars a dominant 26-0 victory. Etienne should be fired up once again at Tennessee who ranks middle-of-the-pack against opposing backs. In what is a "win and in" playoff scenario for the Jaguars, there's no doubt that Etienne will once again be a heavily featured weapon in this offensive attack, especially if QB Trevor Lawrence is ruled out.

Jan 2 1:00pm ET

Jaguars' RB Travis Etienne scored 25.80 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 17 win against the Panthers. Etienne ran for 102 yards and caught two passes for 16 yards with two touchdowns. It's the 3rd time this season Etienne scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Jan 1 1:00am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. had 102 yards and two touchdowns off 16 carries in Sunday's win over the Carolina Panthers. He added two catches for 16 yards. Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) didn't play, resulting in C.J. Beathard getting the start. Beathard didn't throw a touchdown. However, he didn't need to do much, as Etienne was a big reason the Jags snapped a four-game skid. The 24-year-old has found the end zone 12 times this season. There's also a good chance he'll surpass the 1,000-yard rushing mark in Week 18 versus the Titans. Keep him starting in all fantasy formats.

Dec 30 2:20pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. gets a soft Carolina run defense for the fantasy championship in Week 17. It's been tough sledding the former first-round pick of late, with zero top-10 performances in the past seven games after hitting that mark from weeks 5-8. Etienne let managers down in a big way with his lowest output of the season last week in the fantasy semifinals, but he should be trusted for the most important matchup of the year. The Panthers are an atrocious run-stopping unit, ranking 29th to opposing backs and dead last in touchdowns conceded. With starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence ruled out, Etienne will be heavily relied upon to move the chains against Carolina and should put up some gaudy numbers in the fantasy championship. Start him with confidence.

Dec 24 8:10pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. rushed six times for only 12 yards, adding 3 receptions for 19 yards in the loss to Tampa Bay. The 32 scrimmage yards and nine opportunities both marked season-lows for Etienne, who was completely shut down by the stout Bucs run defense. Nothing appeared to be working on offense for the Jaguars in this one, who found themselves down by 20 points at the half. This is the fourth straight loss for Jacksonville and second consecutive game they have failed to reach 13 points. Things should get much easier for Etienne and the offense next week when the Panthers and their bottom-tier rush defense come to town.

Dec 23 4:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. faces the stout Tampa Bay Buccaneers run defense on Sunday in a pivotal cross-conference showdown. While Etienne currently ranks as the RB3 on the year, his efficiency has been very poor with a YPC of 3.7, tied for 39th. Touchdowns have been aplenty for Etienne this season, ranking fourth league-wide with 10, but he has his work cut out for him yet again this Sunday when he faces the Bucs who rank in the top-10 in both YPC and total rush yards allowed. With multiple weapons out on offense, Etienne will likely need to be relied upon more than he already is, so he still projects as a solid RB2 with a safe floor. Just don't except top-end numbers in the fantasy semifinals for the former Clemson star.

Dec 18 12:40am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. rushed 10 times for 31 yards, adding four catches on five targets for 28 yards against the Ravens. Jacksonville struggled moving the ball all night with Etienne being effectively shut down by this elite Baltimore front. His 59 yards tied the third lowest output of the season, and 14 total touches tied for his second fewest. With a long run of just seven yards, the Ravens defense truly did a spectacular job stopping the dynamic back, who was held to only 7.9 half PPR fantasy points. Next week brings another tough matchup in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but the Jaguars offense should be able to find their rhythm in that one.

Dec 16 11:20am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. heads into a matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15. The young running back has been dealing with a nagging rib injury but does not carry an injury designation heading into the weekend for the first time in three weeks. Etienne has been one of the bigger value grabs in fantasy this year, currently slotting as the PPR RB3 against an RB10 ADP. The speedster hasn't eclipsed 56 rushing yards since Week 8, but has one of the safest floors in fantasy given his enormous workload each week. Even against a Ravens front that ranks No. 8 against fantasy running backs on the year, Etienne is still in the mix as an RB1 with his involvement in the passing game. Expect another 15-20 point outing from the former Clemson star in this pivotal AFC Sunday Night Football matchup.

Dec 14 9:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (ribs) was once again a limited participant during practice. This is now back-to-back days that Etienne has been limited. The young back has been playing through a ribs issue lately. Possibly, the Jags are just limiting his reps in order to keep him fresh for Sunday's game. Etienne struggled on the ground last week, but has too much upside to be ignored. He should be able to provide low-end RB1 value against the Ravens in Week 15, assuming he plays. Otherwise, D'Ernest Johnson (knee) would be asked to take on a bigger role. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Friday for another update.

From RotoBaller

Dec 13 5:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Travis Etienne Jr. (ribs) and D'Ernest Johnson (knee) were both listed as limited on Wednesday's injury report. Etienne and Johnson were also on the injury report last week with their respective injuries but played through them in the Week 14 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Johnson has become the team's No. 2 back over Tank Bigsby and has been more involved in recent weeks, but Etienne is Jacksonville's clear lead back and will continue to be so. Etienne dominated the backfield touch share last Sunday. He had 14 carries for 35 yards and his ninth touchdown of the year while adding four catches for 37 yards. Expect that to continue this Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. It's not an ideal matchup for the Jags offense, but Etienne will be in the low-end RB1 conversation in fantasy.

Dec 10 9:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. rushed 14 times for 35 yards and a touchdown, adding four receptions for 37 yards in a loss at Cleveland. With Etienne receiving next to no room on the ground all day, it was promising to see him continue his involvement in the passing game as a trusted target of quarterback Trevor Lawrence. His 72 scrimmage yards tied for his fourth-lowest output of the season, but Etienne rewarded fantasy managers with a one-yard touchdown in the third that gave him another top-15 RB performance, his eighth such effort on the year. Etienne's volume makes him a must-start no matter the matchup, but he will have his work cut out for him next week against the Ravens top-five rush defense.

Dec 10 11:40am ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Travis Etienne Jr. (ribs) and D'Ernest Johnson (knee) are both active for Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday despite being listed as questionable on the final injury report. Etienne and Johnson were expected to play despite their questionable tags. The Jags will also surprisingly have quarterback Trevor Lawrence (ankle) under center for this one just six days after he suffered a high-ankle sprain on Monday night. With Lawrence's mobility likely pretty limited, the Jags could lean more on their backfield in Etienne and Johnson. However, the matchup against Cleveland's strong run defense isn't ideal. Fantasy managers should fade Etienne in DFS and consider him more of an RB2 in season-long leagues.

Dec 10 1:40am ET

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (ribs) will likely play versus the Browns. The 24-year-old has dealt with a rib injury for a few weeks. Yet, he still played relatively well in the loss to the Bengals on Monday night, gaining 45 yards and a touchdown off 11 carries while catching all four targets for 34 yards. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Etienne could have a rough time getting things moving on the ground against a quality Browns defense. However, Etienne is still a must-start in all formats, especially since the team may lean on him more if Trevor Lawrence (ankle) doesn't suit up.

From RotoBaller

Dec 9 10:40pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. takes on a stout Cleveland front in Week 14. Etienne is listed as questionable on the final injury report with a nagging rib injury limiting him to partial practices all week. The dynamic back was headed to another mediocre performance last week until two big plays late pushed him to an RB12 finish. Etienne was able to eclipse the 4.0 YPC mark for the first time since Week 5, but this week brings an entirely new challenge, as Myles Garrett and the Browns are one of the better run-stopping units in the league. Given the weather conditions and the injury to quarterback Trevor Lawrence though, Etienne may see even more volume than usual, giving him a solid RB1 floor in this one.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 6:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Travis Etienne Jr. (ribs) and D'Ernest Johnson (knee) are both listed as questionable for the Week 14 contest versus the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Etienne was also questionable for Monday night's overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, but he ended up suiting up and saw 15 touches for 79 yards and a touchdown. How Jacksonville's offense fares against a strong Browns defense this weekend will all hinge on whether quarterback Trevor Lawrence (ankle) is able to play through his injury. Etienne will have less upside as an RB2 if Lawrence sits out, but the Jaguars could also lean more heavily on their ground game if backup C.J. Beathard is forced to start. Either way, the 24-year-old Etienne should be downgraded in Week 14.

From RotoBaller

Dec 7 6:30pm ET

Jacksonville Jaguars running backs Travis Etienne Jr. (ribs) and D'Ernest Johnson (knee) were both limited in practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Etienne was also listed with a rib injury leading up to the Week 13 overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, but he managed to play and rack up 79 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 15 total touches. Both Etienne and Johnson should be fine to play in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns in a tough matchup. Not only is the matchup not ideal for Etienne and the Jags' running game, but there's a good chance they'll be without starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who suffered a high-ankle sprain on Monday night. If C.J. Beathard is running the offense this weekend, Etienne will be more of a low-end RB2 in fantasy.
