The Kansas City Chiefs re-signed wide receiver Josh Gordon to a Reserve/Futures contract on Wednesday. The Chiefs picked Gordon up early last season when his indefinite suspension was lifted by the league, and he played in 12 games for Kansas City, catching only five of his 14 targets for 32 yards and one touchdown in the regular season. Head coach Andy Reid said that the team was looking to get the 30-year-old receiver more involved in the offense, but it just never came to be, and Gordon was stuck behind Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle and Demarcus Robinson in the receiving pecking order. Gordon will have a full offseason to better learn the offense, and he could have a bigger role in 2022, depending on whether Pringle and Robinson return in free agency.
Free-agent WR Josh Gordon signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Kansas City Chiefs Wednesday, Feb. 2. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The Kansas City Chiefs did not promote wide receiver Josh Gordon to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He will miss the AFC Championship Game and be inactive for a third consecutive contest. The 30-year-old has caught five passes for 32 yards and a touchdown over 12 games for the Chiefs in 2021. Tyreek Hill, Byron Pringle, Mecole Hardman, and Demarcus Robinson will be Kansas City's top wideouts for the AFC Championship Game while Gordon is out. His next chance to play will be in the Super Bowl if the Chiefs advance past the Bengals on Sunday.
Free-agent WR Josh Gordon was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad Wednesday, Jan. 26.
Free-agent wide receiver Josh Gordon went unclaimed after being waived by the Kansas Chiefs on Monday. He is expected to sign with the Chiefs practice squad. The 30-year-old has caught five passes for 32 yards and a touchdown over 12 games in 2021. The Baylor product was buried on Kansas City's wide receiver depth chart behind Tyreek Hill, Byron Pringle, Mecole Hardman, and Demarcus Robinson. Gordon is not on the fantasy radar and, if promoted to the main roster, is a long shot to be productive if any of Kansas City's wide receivers were to miss time.
The Kansas City Chiefs waived wide receiver Josh Gordon on Monday. He's been inactive the last two postseason games and has been a non-factor since signing with the Chiefs in early October. Gordon could be re-signed to the Chiefs practice squad if he clears waivers but hasn't been fantasy relevant despite being on a loaded Kansas City offense.
Free-agent WR Josh Gordon (Chiefs) is expected to join the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad if he clears waivers.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Josh Gordon was waived Monday, Jan. 24.
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared OT Prince Tega Wanogho, CB Rashad Fenton, RB Darrel Williams, QB Shane Buechele, WR Josh Gordon and DE Joshua Kaindoh inactive for Divisional Playoffs.
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared OT Prince Tega Wanogho, RB Darwin Thompson, CB Rashad Fenton, QB Shane Buechele, WR Josh Gordon, DE Joshua Kaindoh and RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire inactive for Wild Card Weekend.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed that wide receiver Josh Gordon and linebacker Willie Gay Jr. have been activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Gordon was able to return to practice on Wednesday. The 30-year-old pass-catcher hasn't been fantasy relevant on a loaded Chiefs offense, but his status is notable this week with both Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce in the COVID protocols. Of course, Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle and Demarcus Robinson would all be involved as well if both Hill and Kelce aren't cleared for Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Gordon has just four receptions for 27 yards and one touchdown on nine targets in nine games played for KC, so he still feels like a long shot for fantasy relevant production if both Hill and Kelce are out.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Josh Gordon and LB Willie Gay were activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Dec. 22.
The Kansas City Chiefs placed defensive tackle Chris Jones on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. It comes on the heels of the Chiefs placing wide receiver Josh Gordon on the list on Monday. Jones could come off the list if he's fully vaccinated, he's asymptomatic and returns two negatives tests 24 hours apart, but that's increasingly unlikely to happen with the Chiefs playing the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night in Week 15. Not having Jones on the field this week would be a big loss for the Chiefs defense, as he's been one of their best defenders with seven sacks, six tackles for loss, 14 QB hits and five passes defensed this year. KC's defense has been much improved in the second half of the season, but they'll be a shaky fantasy defensive unit against the strong offense of the Chargers this week, especially if Jones is out.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon has been placed on the COVID-19 list. Gordon is COVID positive, but he is also vaccinated. That being said, it's uncertain if he'll get cleared in time for Thursday's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. Regardless, Gordon should be able to suit up in Week 16. He hasn't been much of a fantasy option when he plays anyway. Gordon has four receptions for 27 yards and one touchdown this season. He'll remain off the fantasy radar for Week 15.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Josh Gordon was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Dec. 13.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Josh Gordon caught two balls for nine yards and a touchdown in a Week 14 victory versus the Las Vegas Raiders. The touchdown came on a one-yard pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and it would be the first time Gordon has seen the end zone since 2019. Gordon entered the contest with just two receptions for 18 yards on the year and hasn't warranted the attention that he has previously throughout his career. Even in a high-powered offense, Gordon just hasn't done much this season and managers can safely leave him on the waiver wire for a Week 15 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
