The New York Jets are re-signing veteran kicker Greg Zuerlein to a two-year $8.4 million deal. The 36-year-old made 35 of his 38 field goal attempts and 13 of his 14 extra-point tries in 2023. With Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) out of action, the Jets' offense sputtered, leading to a ton of stalled-out drives and field goal attempts. If Rodgers is good to go for 2024 and is playing at a high level, more drives could be converted into touchdowns. That said, Zuerlein has a wide range of outcomes in fantasy football next season.

New York Jets impending free-agent PK Greg Zuerlein and P Thomas Morstead are players the Jets want to re-sign this offseason.

Jan 6 12:50am CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein made two of his three field goal attempts and converted on both of his extra-point tries in last week's loss to the Cleveland Browns. The 36-year-old's final showing of the season will come against the New England Patriots in Week 18. Although New England has been vulnerable to fantasy kickers this year, Sunday's contest is projected to be the lowest-scoring affair of the week. Back in Week 3, these division rivals combined for just 25 total points with Zuerlein attempting only one field goal and one extra point. Fantasy managers in need of a starting kicker this week should search for one in a better game environment than Zuerlein.

Dec 28 6:30pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein (quadriceps), who was listed as questionable to play in Week 17, is officially active for the Thursday night game against the Cleveland Browns. Zuerlein already wasn't much of a fantasy option to begin with coming into this game, and fantasy managers should really be avoiding him in championship matchups now that he's unlikely to be 100 percent healthy on Thursday evening. Greg the Leg currently ranks tied for 19th in overall fantasy points this year in a lackluster Jets offense. The 36-year-old has only missed one field goal on the year on 31 attempts, but he's also attempted only 14 extra points in 14 games, which ranks 31st in the NFL. Zuerlein should not be trusted in starting fantasy lineups, especially while going up against a strong Cleveland defense.

Dec 27 8:20pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein (quad) got in a limited practice on Wednesday as his team gears up to face off against the Cleveland Browns in Week 17's Thursday night game. Zuerlein missed practice on Tuesday but his ability to get back on the field on a limited basis on Wednesday is a positive sign for the veteran kicker. The Jets did add kicker Austin Seibert to their practice squad on Wednesday, giving them a fallback plan in case Zuerlein is unable to give it a go on Thursday. Fantasy gamers rostering Zuerlein will want to have a backup plan in place, as well, in case he is inactive.

Dec 27 3:23pm CT

New York Jets OT Duane Brown (back) and TE Jeremy Ruckert (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 27, and have been ruled out for Week 17. WR Allen Lazard (illness) did not practice and is listed as questionable. RB Israel Abanikanda (ankle) and PK Greg Zuerlein (quadriceps) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. S Ashtyn Davis (abdomen), DE John Franklin-Myers (ankle, groin) and S Justin Hardee (foot) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Dec 26 8:40pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein is reportedly dealing with soreness in his right quad coming out of his team's Week 16 win over the Washington Commanders. With the Jets slated to face off against the Cleveland Browns in the Week 17 Thursday night game, Zuerlein's status is in jeopardy. The team is expected to see how he is feeling over the next few days as kickoff approaches. It would be a bad sign for Zuerlein's potential availability if the Jets make a move to sign another kicker on Wednesday.

Dec 26 3:23pm CT

New York Jets OT Duane Brown (back), QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), TE Jeremy Ruckert (concussion), QB Zach Wilson (concussion) and PK Greg Zuerlein (quad) did not practice on Tuesday, Dec. 26. RB Israel Abanikanda (ankle) was limited. S Ashtyn Davis (abdominal), DL John Franklin-Myers (ankle, groin), DB Justin Hardee (foot) and QB Trevor Siemian (elbow) practiced in full. The Jets held a walk-through on Tuesday, so the report is an estimation.

Dec 26 2:03pm CT

New York Jets PK Greg Zuerlein (quad) appears to be in some question for the team's Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns after injuring his quad in Week 16 versus the Washington Commanders, according to head coach Robert Saleh.

From TheHuddle

Dec 25 7:50pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein (right quad) was estimated as a limited participant on Monday. With the Jets in the midst of a short week, any sort of injury is worth monitoring. However, the fact that the Jets marked him as limited rather than a non-participant suggests he has a good chance to play on Thursday night versus the Cleveland Browns. The veteran has converted field goals at an impressive 30-for-31 clip this year, making him a solid fantasy option in most leagues.

New York Jets OT Duane Brown (back), CB Justin Hardee (foot), QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) and TE Jeremy Ruckert (concussion) did not participate in practice Monday, Dec. 25. RB Israel Abanikanda (ankle), S Ashtyn Davis (abdomen), DE John Franklin-Myers (ankle, groin) and PK Greg Zuerlein (quadriceps) were limited during practice. The Jets did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.

From TheHuddle

Dec 22 8:40pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein was not asked to do anything in Week 15 as the team failed to score a point against the Miami Dolphins in a blowout loss. He'll hope to get involved in an extremely favorable matchup with the Washington Commanders this week. Washington's defense surrenders the most points in the NFL, so it is no surprise that the Commanders have allowed the second-most fantasy points to kickers this season. There is potential for Zuerlein to have a busy afternoon on Sunday, but New York's offense simply can't be trusted to move the ball effectively, especially not with quarterback Trevor Siemian making his first start of the campaign.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 9:50pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein was excellent in Week 14, drilling three field goals and going three-for-three on extra-point tries. Unfortunately, he may not see as many opportunities on the road in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins' defense has been rather stout at home this season, limiting opponents to just over 19 points per contest. Additionally, Miami has surrendered the fifth-fewest fantasy points to kickers. Although the Jets looked much improved last week with Zach Wilson under center, fantasy managers should not be targeting Zuerlein in this matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 9:00pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein drilled both of his field goal attempts last week and will hope to have similar success against the Houston Texans in Week 14. The Jets' offense could be improved on Sunday with Zach Wilson back under center but still does not instill much confidence for fantasy purposes. With the Texans limiting opponents to fewer than 21 points per contest this season, Zuerlein should remain on waiver wires in most redraft leagues.

From RotoBaller

Dec 1 7:20pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein converted on just one of his two extra-point tries in a Week 12 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The 35-year-old will look to bounce back against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Although Atlanta has given up a fair amount of production to kickers this season, New York's offense cannot be trusted to move the ball effectively with Tim Boyle under center. Even with multiple teams on bye this week, fantasy managers should be able to find more reliable options than Zuerlein on waivers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 23 7:10pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein did not attempt a single field goal or extra point in a blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills last week. The 35-year-old will look to be more involved in a Week 12 bout with the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are surrendering plenty of points to opposing offenses, but New York is struggling to score and will be starting Tim Boyle at quarterback on Friday. Boyle has shown very little in his 18 career appearances, so Zuerlein cannot be expected to have many opportunities. Fantasy managers should be able to find better options available on waiver wires.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 10:10pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein was excellent in Week 10, drilling all four of his field goal attempts, including three of at least 40 yards. He will hope to keep rolling in a Week 11 road matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Zuerlein could be busy once again if the Jets are able to move the ball without finding the end zone, but it's difficult to project New York for much success with the Bills surrendering just over 16 points per game at home. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for production this week as Zuerlein can't be trusted in a potentially low-scoring affair.

From RotoBaller

Nov 12 10:53pm CT

New York Jets PK Greg Zuerlein converted all four of his field goal chances (47, 53, 30, 45) in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders, accounting for all of the team's scoring on Sunday Night Football.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 9:00pm CT

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein connected on both of his field goal attempts in a Week 9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He'll be hoping to see the field more against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night. Unfortunately, this contest has the lowest-projected point total of the week, and Las Vegas has surrendered the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to kickers this season. With New York's offense struggling to move the ball, Zuerlein should remain out of starting fantasy lineups in Week 10.
