Dynasty | The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed running back Rico Dowdle. Dynasty Analysis: As expected. The Cowboys lost Tony Pollard to Tennessee and needed to start replenishing their depth chart, so bringing Dowdle back was always likely. At this point, he looks like a potential starter, though it's highly likely the Cowboys either draft someone or make another move to move him into a backup role. At this point, Dowdle is a solid hold in dynasty leagues as we wait to see how this whole thing shakes out.

Dynasty | The Titans have signed running back Tony Pollard. Dynasty Analysis: Pollard was handed the starting job in Dallas and failed miserably last year so it's a little surprising to see him land a three-year, $24 million deal. This spells the end for the Derrick Henry era in Tennessee and spoils a lot of the appeal for Tajae Spears as well. It seems likely Spears and Pollard will now form some kind of committee for the Titans. While that looks great on paper and in real life, it's not great for the dynasty value of either.

Mar 11 12:00pm CT

Updating a previous report, the Tennessee Titans are set to give free-agent running back Tony Pollard a three-year deal worth $24 million, according to a source. The deal won't become official until Wednesday, but this officially signals that the Titans are moving on from Derrick Henry, which was expected all along. Pollard brings a completely different dynamic than King Henry in the backfield. While Pollard should be expected to see most of the backfield touches in Tennessee, second-year back Tyjae Spears should also be heavily involved, which will hurt Pollard's overall fantasy ceiling. The 26-year-old has gone over 1,000 yards rushing in each of the last two seasons for the Dallas Cowboys, but he averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry in 2023 and is moving to a much less explosive offense in Tennessee with an unproven second-year QB in Will Levis.

The Tennessee Titans are expected to sign free-agent running back Tony Pollard, according to a league source. Nothing is official and teams cannot announce free-agent signings until Wednesday, but it looks like Pollard is going to leave the Dallas Cowboys for the Titans to replace Derrick Henry in Tennessee. The 26-year-old should be in line for lead-back duties in Tennessee, although second-year back Tyjae Spears earned more playing time after an impressive rookie campaign in 2023. Even though Pollard eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight season in 2024 with Dallas, he averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry and didn't look the same after suffering a serious leg injury the previous postseason. He could be more efficient another year removed from the injury, but the move to the Titans is a big offensive downgrade behind an offensive line with plenty of question marks.

The Dallas Cowboys are not expected to use the franchise tag on impending free-agent running back Tony Pollard this year at a cost of $12.109 million, according to sources. The Cowboys gave Pollard lead-back duties in 2023, and he responded with 1,005 rushing yards on 252 attempts (career-low 4.0 yards per carry) with six touchdowns while adding a career-high 55 receptions for 311 yards and no TDs through the air in 17 regular-season contests. Pollard looked better late in the season and wasn't really himself for most of the year after recovering from a significant leg injury in 2022. The 26-year-old's fantasy value for the 2024 season will depend on where he's playing, but Pollard didn't do much to show other clubs that he can be trusted as a workhorse back.

Feb 26 5:13pm CT

Dynasty | Cowboys running back Tony Pollard will likely not receive the franchise tag from Dallas. Dynasty Analysis: This really isn't a shock considering Pollard rushed for just two more yards in 2023 than in 2022 but also had 59 more carries to do it. His yards per carry averaged took a nosedive from 5.2 to 4.0 and Pollard simply didn't look like a running back capable of being a true three-down option. While he'll find a healthy market out there, the chance of him landing a job as a true bell cow seem pretty slim. Pollard's value will likely come out of the wash as that of a RB2 instead of a RB1 when all is said and done and the "sell high" window has likely closed as a result.

Feb 14 5:10pm CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard's production plummeted as the team's lead back in 2023, but The Athletic's Saad Yousuf thinks the Cowboys don't need to rule out the possibility of bringing Pollard back in 2024 in free agency. Despite his disappointing season as a whole, Pollard was also coming back from a serious leg injury last year. However, he may have proved that he can't be relied on to be a workhorse. If a bidding war breaks out for the 26-year-old, though, the Cowboys won't be expected to consider bringing him back. After earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2022, Pollard averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry on a career-high 252 rushing attempts for 1,005 yards and six touchdowns in 2023, adding a career-high 55 catches for 311 yards through the air. Pollard may not have been back to full health until December. Where he ends up in 2024 will ultimately determine his fantasy value.

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard scored a rushing touchdown in the first week of the playoffs against the Green Bay Packers. Pollard ran the ball 15 times, picking up 56 yards and scoring a touchdown on a one-yard run in the third quarter. He also saw nine targets in the passing game, gaining 29 yards on seven catches. It was a very up-and-down season for Pollard in his first season as the Cowboys lead back, where he was widely drafted as a surefire RB1 but ended up disappearing often even in good matchups. The Dallas backfield will be interesting to follow throughout the offseason.

Jan 11 10:50am CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard has a good matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Wild Card Weekend. Pollard ended his first regular season as the Cowboys lead back with 1,005 rushing yards and six touchdowns, wrapping up with a 16 fantasy point performance in Week 18, good for an RB12 finish. Pollard had an up-and-down season, finishing as a fantasy RB1 six times, but outside of the top-30 six times as well. In what should be a high-scoring game, Pollard is one of the safer options in the first round of the playoffs.

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard scored a touchdown in a Week 18 blowout win over the Washington Commanders. Pollard ran the ball 17 times, gaining 70 yards and scoring his touchdown on a goal line run in the second quarter. Pollard was also targeted twice in the passing game, making two catches for 16 more yards. It was a solid game for Pollard, who ceded 12 touches to his backup, Rico Dowdle, once the game was firmly in hand. Pollard, Dowdle, and the rest of the Cowboys will host the Green Bay Packers next week for the first round of the playoffs.

Jan 4 6:10pm CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard will look for a strong end to the season in a Week 18 game against the Washington Commanders. Pollard has had some solid moments but it's been an overall disappointing season for the Cowboys lead back. Still, the Commanders run defense hasn't done much of anything lately, allowing the third-most rushing yards and fourth-most rushing touchdowns since Week 12. Despite his up-and-down season, Pollard will come in as a low-end RB1 in the regular season's final game.

Dynasty | Tony Pollard produced 49 yards on 16 carries in the Cowboys victory over the Lions in week 17 Dynasty Analysis: He also recorded only a single reception for the second time in as many weeks. It's been a disappointing season related to expectations and with his week 17 in the books, he now resides as fantasy's RB14 (PPR), but certain to fall modestly by the conclusion of this week's games. With only a single 100-yard game produced, that in week three, Pollard has been no more than a middling option as Dak Prescott and the Cowboys leaned more heavily on the passing attack in 2023. Pollard does have 53 receptions on the year but his usage in that area is in decline as well with only four over his past three games. Tony Pollard, found as DLF's RB11 and still only 26 years-of-age, possesses significant talent and upside but is set to jump into a very deep free agent pool at the position in 2024. It would seem unlikely that he re-signs with the Cowboys this offseason.

Dec 31 4:20am CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard had another nondescript game in a Week 17 win over the Detroit Lions. Pollard ran the ball 16 times for 49 scoreless yards on the ground, adding one reception on three targets, but not gaining any yardage through the air. Pollard had the volume in this one, but just couldn't find much running room. He did have a long gain of 18 yards on the ground, but in his other 15 carries, put up just 31 yards combined. He'll have a solid matchup in Week 18 to wrap up the regular season against the Washington Commanders, but Pollard has been mostly disappointing all season despite his big opportunities.

Dec 28 6:10pm CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard will look for a bounce back game in a Week 17 matchup against the Detroit Lions. Pollard has struggled for two weeks in a row after putting together several strong games before that. In his past two games, he's finished as the overall RB46 and RB34. The Lions defense has been very good against opposing running backs lately, making Pollard tough to trust in the fantasy championships, but he always has upside in this strong Cowboys offense. He's somewhere in the RB15-20 range this week.

Dec 24 7:00pm CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard ran the ball 12 times in a Week 16 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Pollard took the dozen handoffs and ran for 38 yards with a long gain of seven yards. In the passing game, he was only targeted once, making a catch for a five-yard gain. It was a disappointing game for Pollard, who saw six other Cowboys offensive players take at least one ball in the backfield. Pollard and the Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions next week on Saturday.

Dec 22 12:20am CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard (leg) said on Thursday that at the start of the season, he was still working through his January leg fracture more than he realized. "I would say it's a night and day difference. You think you're good. You think you're all the way back until you're actually out there making plays, full speed, feeling it. Once you get a feel for it and get your feet under you, then you start to realize, 'Oh, so I may have lost a little right there.' But I'm picking it back up," Pollard said. He thinks he moved past it "halfway through the season, a little bit after the bye week." Since the Week 7 bye, Pollard has averaged 4.31 yards per carry and three touchdowns after averaging 3.85 yards per carry with two TDs in the first six games in 2023. As long as the 26-year-old can stay involved in the passing attack, he'll continue to have RB1 fantasy upside, even in a somewhat weak matchup this weekend on the road against the Miami Dolphins.

From RotoBaller

Dec 21 8:20pm CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard has a tough matchup against the Miami Dolphins in a Week 16 game. Pollard has been the RB18 this season but has underperformed quite a bit, as he's all the way up to the RB7 looking at expected fantasy points per game. Pollard has been better of late though, but the matchup against the Dolphins defense is a tough one, as they've allowed the second-fewest rushing yards in the league since Week 10. Pollard is an RB2 just based on expected touches, but his upside is a little lower than usual because of the matchup.

Dec 17 7:00pm CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard had a fairly nondescript game in a Week 15 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He ran the ball 11 times, picking up 52 yards on the ground. He was targeted three times through the air, making two catches for five yards total. It was a rough game for the Cowboys offense as a whole, but Pollard did what he could with his opportunities. They'll hope for better results in Week 16 when the Cowboys face the Dolphins on Christmas Eve.

From RotoBaller

Dec 14 11:00am CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard will look to keep his momentum rolling in a Week 15 game against the Buffalo Bills. Pollard got off to a slow start this season, but he's put up at least 13 fantasy points for four weeks in a row (after only four double-digit games in Weeks 1 through 11). The Bills defense hasn't been able to do much to stop opposing running backs this season, making Pollard a low-end RB1 with some upside to be even more.

From RotoBaller

Dec 11 12:00am CT

Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard had a decent game in a Week 14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Pollard ran the ball 16 times for 59 yards and caught the ball seven times on eight targets for 37 more yards. In PPR leagues, the seven grabs made for a solid performance. Pollard played decently, but gave up 13 touches to his backup, Rico Dowdle, who scored the only Cowboys rushing touchdown in this game. Pollard looked much better than he did earlier in the season, and should remain in the RB2 conversation next week against the Buffalo Bills.
