San Francisco 49ers All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams said he plans to return for another season with the team in 2024. The 35-year-old is still one of the best overall players in the NFL, and retirement has not been a consideration. Williams was originally selected by the Washington Redskins with the fourth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Since then, he has been named to four All-Pro teams are 11 Pro Bowl rosters. His decision to keep playing is obviously great news for quarterback Brock Purdy and the rest of the Niners offense. He is scheduled to have a base salary of $20.05 million in 2024.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy's best efforts failed to bring the team's first championship in 29 years in Sunday's Super Bowl matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. As the Chiefs sealed the second overtime victory in Super Bowl history, Purdy's night ended at 23 completions of 38 attempts for 255 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions against a tough pass defense. It's hard to say that Purdy had a bad game, but it may be tough to shake his "game manager" tag after this one. He kept his team in the game throughout and led an overtime drive to a field goal, but there were times when his inexperience showed, standing in contrast to Patrick Mahomes' clean game-winning touchdown drive in response. Purdy will look to get his team back for another shot and will most likely be on the QB1/QB2 border this fall in fantasy drafts.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy faces his toughest playoff matchup this year when he leads his team into Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on Sunday to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII. In the NFC Championship Game against Detroit, the former seventh-round pick led a historic second-half comeback but posted mediocre fantasy numbers, finishing with 267 yards passing, one touchdown, and one interception. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has the Kansas City pass defense playing their best football of the season lately, holding some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL to an average of 219 yards passing and one touchdown per game during their playoff run. In the regular season, Purdy has struggled against top pass defenses, getting intercepted four times with no touchdowns against Baltimore and being held to 125 passing yards and one touchdown back in Week 6 at Cleveland. Patrick Mahomes is the better fantasy option at quarterback in the Super Bowl, but there's a chance Purdy's DFS price drops low enough to be worth serious consideration.

Dynasty | 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy completed 20-of-31 passes for 267 yards with one touchdown and one interception in an NFC Championship win against the Lions. Dynasty Analysis: The stat line doesn't tell the whole story here. Purdy rallied the 49ers from 17 points down in the second half and didn't panic, despite the Lions looking destined to win. While his stats haven't been dominant all season, Purdy is about as steady as they come and has a chance to move from QB14 all the way up to a true QB1 this off-season.

Jan 28 11:30pm CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy led the team to a 34-31 comeback victory in the NFC Championship Game over the Detroit Lions at Levi's Stadium on Sunday. The 17-point halftime deficit Purdy and the 49ers erased in the second half was the largest comeback in NFC Championship Game history. He finished the day 20-for-31 for 267 yards passing, one touchdown, and one interception plus five scrambles for 48 yards rushing. While Purdy's fantasy total may have disappointed DFS and playoff pool gamers, he continues to throw cold water on the narrative that he is a mere "game manager". Purdy is indeed surrounded by offensive talent -- see receiver Brandon Aiyuk bailing him out on a too-deep shot off a defender's face mask, for example -- but he made several impressive, clutch plays, including with his legs. Catch him in two weeks when tries to bring the first Super Bowl Championship to the Bay in nearly 30 years against the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas.

Jan 27 1:30am CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy had an uneven performance in last week's Divisional Round comeback win versus the Green Bay Packers, throwing multiple inaccurate passes in the rain while mixing in a handful of brilliant ones. He'll look to sharpen up on Sunday when the team hosts the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game at Levi's Stadium. Detroit's defense has been vulnerable to the pass in both seasonlong and recent metrics. They finished the regular season ranking second-worst in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks as well as over the last five games of the season. In their two playoff games, the Lions allowed an average of 358 yards through the air. Purdy's accuracy issues should dissipate with no rain in the forecast this week. For DFS players unwilling to spend for Lamar Jackson, Purdy is arguably the next best option of the quarterbacks still standing this week in the Championship Round.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy completed a fourth-quarter 24-21 comeback win in Saturday night's Divisional Round matchup against the Green Bay Packers. At times, Purdy appeared to struggle with accuracy in the rainy conditions but made enough crucial throws to earn the victory. He finished 23-for-39 for 252 yards and one touchdown. Purdy didn't throw an interception in this one, though a poor decision in the first quarter led to an easy pick bouncing off a Green Bay defender's hands. Later, trailing in the fourth quarter Purdy skillfully led the 49ers on a 12-play, 69-yard game-winning drive, a box he had failed to check off in each of his late comeback attempts this season. Next week, Purdy will either face the Detroit Lions or Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home in the NFC Championship Game.

Jan 19 9:50pm CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will look to take care of business at home in Saturday night's Divisional Round contest against the upstart Green Bay Packers. The second-year pro out of Iowa State enjoyed a breakout season in the regular season, finishing as the QB6 in total fantasy points. Green Bay's pass defense was decent in the regular season, finishing as the 12th-toughest defense against quarterbacks in fantasy. Last week in Dallas, they allowed Dak Prescott to post 403 yards passing and three touchdowns, though they did collect two interceptions, and it took Prescott a whopping 60 attempts to get there. Purdy is right up there with the top QB options in DFS and playoff pools this week, though he'll probably have a tough time outproducing Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who are more likely to contribute rushing numbers. Low-intensity rain and wind are expected during the game, which could lead to fewer passes, but Purdy hasn't needed large attempt totals this year to do damage.

Jan 7 2:00pm CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (coach's decision) is inactive for Week 18 versus the Los Angeles Rams. This was widely expected given that San Francisco has already secured the NFC's No. 1 seed and home-field advantage through the conference championship. Sam Darnold should start in place of Purdy, who will be joined on the sideline by star running back Christian McCaffrey (calf). As of now, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle are expected to play but could have limited roles in order to preserve their health.

From RotoBaller

Jan 3 2:40pm CT

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that quarterback Brock Purdy will not play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. As a result, Sam Darnold will make his first start of the season in a meaningless game for the Niners, as they are already locked into the top seed in the NFC and will have a first-round bye in the playoffs. In addition to Purdy, the Niners ruled out star running back Christian McCaffrey (calf) already after he strained his calf in the Week 17 win over the Washington Commanders. San Francisco could choose to limit other key offensive weapons this weekend, making all Niners players risky in fantasy lineups in Week 18. Darnold will be in play as a low-end QB2 option for fantasy managers in leagues that start two QBs.

Jan 1 11:30pm CT

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says he has not yet made decisions on quarterback Brock Purdy and other key veterans for Week 18's regular-season finale versus the Los Angeles Rams. Shanahan also says those choices will be made on a case-by-case basis as the week goes on. It leaves the game statuses up in the air for not only Purdy, but also the likes of Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle. Christian McCaffrey (calf) will use the week to recover from the strained right calf that he suffered in Week 17's win over the Washington Commanders, since the Niners secured the top seed in the NFC with the victory. There could be plenty of DFS value plays to go around on Sunday if some mix of San Fran's stars are rested, and season-long fantasy managers whose leagues are still running will need to stay tuned throughout the course of the practice week for a clearer picture on who might be active.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy took care of business in Sunday's 27-10 victory over the Commanders in Landover. Less than a week after throwing four interceptions to Baltimore, Purdy rebounded by completing 22 of 28 attempts for 230 yards and two touchdowns. In the fourth quarter, the second-year pro surpassed Jeff Garcia as the all-time single-season passing yardage leader. Purdy will bring his 4,280 yards into Week 18 against the Los Angeles Rams. However, San Francisco will likely choose to start backup Sam Darnold in that one since they locked up the No. 1 playoff seed with the win and Sunday's Philadelphia Eagles loss to Arizona.

Dec 30 1:10am CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will look to put last week's four-interception performance against Baltimore behind him when the team goes to Washington to take on the Commanders in Week 17. It's of little consolation to fantasy managers who got a near goose egg from Purdy in their playoff games last week, but his performance wasn't necessarily as bad as it seems on paper. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan called the first interception "a big mistake" but characterized the other three -- which came off of deflections -- as "pretty unfortunate". Purdy (shoulder) left the game with a stinger midway through the fourth quarter but has logged full practices each day this week. He remains a solid QB1 versus a Washington defense that is leading the world in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks at 22 per game.

Dec 29 4:10pm CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) and wide receiver Deebo Samuel (neck) have been removed from the final injury report and will play against the Washington Commanders in Week 17. This development does not come as a surprise given that both players were able to practice this week. With a very favorable matchup on tap, look for Purdy to rank as a QB1 and Samuel as a WR1 in fantasy football. George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, and Brandon Aiyuk are all must-starts, too.

Dec 27 9:50pm CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) was a full participant in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Purdy has suffered stingers in his left (non-throwing) shoulder in each of the last two games, so he's definitely hurting, but it's not going to keep the MVP candidate from playing in Week 17 against the Commanders in Washington D.C. The 24-year-old had a rough go of it in Monday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, throwing for 255 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions on 32 attempts. Although Purdy didn't return to Monday night's game, all signs are pointing toward him playing this weekend in what is as good of a bounce-back matchup as he can get. Consider him a strong midrange QB1 in fantasy in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 26 11:20am CT

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told the media that he thinks quarterback Brock Purdy (stinger) will be alright for Week 17 versus the Washington Commanders. The MVP candidate initially suffered his injury during the second half of Monday's loss to the Ravens. The team initially listed him as questionable to return, but he remained on the sideline as a matter of precaution. He finished the contest having completed 18 of 32 passes for 255 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions. Sam Darnold finished the game under center. Shanahan did note that stingers can worsen the day after they are suffered, so it's too early to confirm his status for Sunday's game. Nevertheless, it sounds like he should be okay, putting him back in the QB1 range for fantasy football ahead of a very favorable matchup.

Dec 25 10:30pm CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (stinger) exited during the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Baltimore Ravens and is officially questionable to return. The MVP candidate was taken to the blue medical tent and replaced by Sam Darnold. Late in the quarter, Purdy emerged from the tent but remained on the sideline with his helmet on. At the time of his departure, he had completed 18 of 32 passes for 255 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions. Fantasy managers invested in Purdy's production will hope he is healthy enough to play in a very favorable matchup against the Washington Commanders next week.

Dec 24 1:40am CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will host the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas night in a potential Super Bowl preview. The former seventh-rounder has been excellent lately, outscoring his projections in five of his last six games and coming off his second four-touchdown performance in his last three contests. Baltimore has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks in 2023 but Purdy has earned the benefit of the doubt with an MVP-type campaign. Since the bye, he has a 17/2 touchdown to interception ratio, and his 9.9 yards per attempt would be the highest number since the 1950s if the season ended today. Purdy may be single-handedly ruining the phrase "Mr. Irrelevant" for everyone as he enters his Week 16 matchup in the thick of the QB1 conversation.

Dec 19 3:05pm CT

San Francisco 49ers' QB Brock Purdy scored 28.10 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 15 win in Arizona. Purdy threw for 242 yards on 16-of-25 with four touchdowns. It's the 6th time this season Purdy scored at least 25 fantasy points in a game.

Dec 17 11:20pm CT

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy completed 16 of 25 attempts for 242 yards passing with four touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 45-29 rout of the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. Since San Francisco's Week 9 bye, Purdy has been surgical, with a 17/2 TD/INT ratio. The NFL's statistical leaderboard for quarterbacks is littered with Purdy's name. He's first in completion percentage, yards per pass attempt, QBR, and touchdown percentage, to name a few. Purdy's four touchdowns on Sunday included two to Christian McCaffrey and two to Deebo Samuel. The second TD throw to Samuel was probably his most impressive of the day, putting a perfect back-shoulder ball low in the front corner of the end zone where the defensive back had no chance, even in good coverage. The leader of one of the scariest offenses in football has them hitting on all cylinders ahead of a Week 16 marquee matchup versus the Baltimore Ravens next Monday night. Purdy will again be a QB1.
