Free-agent QB Mitchell Trubisky (Steelers) agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills Wednesday, March 6, according to sources. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The Buffalo Bills and former quarterback Mitch Trubisky are in talks to reunite, according to a source. Trubisky was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, so he's free to sign with any team before free agency officially starts next week. The 29-year-old former second overall pick by the Chicago Bears in 2017 out of North Carolina made five appearances for the Steelers last year, including two starts, and looked miserable, going 67-for-107 for 632 yards, four touchdowns and five touchdowns before the Steelers quickly went to Mason Rudolph for the rest of the year when Kenny Pickett was hurt. He played in Buffalo in 2021 and attempted just eight passes in parts of six games. If he returns to the Bills, he'd just be QB insurance behind starter Josh Allen.

Dynasty | The Steelers have been mentioned as a possible trade suitor for Justin Fields. Dynasty Analysis: It makes sense on paper as Pittsburgh has not been impressed with Kenny Pickett, likely don't see Mason Rudolph as a long-term answer and let Mitchell Trubisky go this week. Without a high first round pick this season, the Steelers may need to get creative in order to find a solid solution. Fields would make sense as Mike Tomlin is reportedly a fan and the Bears are likely open for business and very apt to use the #1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on Fields' replacement. There will be a ton of rumors and speculation over the next couple of months but this one makes some sense. Fields is a fringe QB1 who could be a valuable trade chip in coming weeks.

Dynasty | The Steelers have parted ways with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Dynasty Analysis: Famously drafted by the Bears with the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft over players like Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey and Deshaun Watson, Trubisky will again be looking for a new home. There was renewed hope for the "Truth Biscuit" when he signed on with the Steelers a couple of years ago but he again proved to be a backup-caliber player at best. He'll look to latch on elsewhere as a backup looking for one more shot. Dynasty managers have cut bait long ago.

Feb 12 5:40pm ET

The Pittsburgh Steelers are releasing quarterback Mitch Trubisky after two seasons with the organization, the team announced on Monday. The 29-year-old appeared in five games (two starts) for the Steelers in 2023, completing 67 of his 107 passing attempts for 632 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions. Originally drafted by the Chicago Bears with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, he has failed to live up to expectations and will likely be nothing more than a backup moving forward. The Steelers have an interesting offseason ahead as they look to settle on a starting QB.

In an interview with KDKA TV's Bob Pompeani, Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II did not dismiss the idea of the organization trading for a veteran quarterback this offseason. "As we sit here in early February, we're not closing the door on anything," Rooney said. "We have a lot of evaluations to go through, and we'll go through all of the options and do what we need to do to be better this coming season." 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett has been underwhelming, throwing for just 4,474 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 25 career games. The 25-year-old dealt with a knee injury late in the season, forcing Mitchell Trubisky and Mason Rudolph into action. Even when Pickett was cleared to play, the Steelers opted to roll with Rudolph into the playoffs. The Steelers have remained a competitive team since the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger, but the quarterback spot has seemingly been the main thing holding the team back. With players like Russell Wilson and Justin Fields potentially being available via trade this offseason, the Steelers could be in the market.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph will start over QB Mitchell Trubisky in Week 16, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Fantasy Spin: It's a solid matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, but it's really a desperation move to start him even in two-QB leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 17 12:30am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed 16 of his 23 pass attempts for 169 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the team's 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He also added a one-yard rushing touchdown. Trubisky and the Steelers' offense struggled mightily, especially during the second half in which they failed to score a point. After tossing his second interception of the contest, Trubisky was benched in favor of Mason Rudolph, who took over for Pittsburgh's last two drives. Although head coach Mike Tomlin did not name a Week 16 starter following the loss, Kenny Pickett (ankle) is reportedly pushing to return next Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky completed 16-for-23 passing for 169 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. Trubisky rushed twice for one yard and scored on the ground. He was sacked three times and was benched late in the fourth quarter after throwing his second pick.

From TheHuddle

Dec 15 8:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky is set to make a second consecutive start in relief of the injured Kenny Pickett (ankle). Trubisky struggled in a loss to the New England Patriots last week but will look to take advantage of a favorable matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. The Colts have given up the fourth-most points to opposing offenses while surrendering the 14th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. While it's possible that Trubisky turns in a solid showing, fantasy managers cannot have much confidence in the Steelers' offense right now. The 29-year-old should be considered a last-resort QB2 option in superflex leagues this week.

Dec 8 1:33am ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky completed 22 of his 35 passes for 190 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the New England Patriots on Thursday, Dec. 7. Trubisky also ran eight times for a team-high 30 yards and a touchdown.

From TheHuddle

Dec 7 11:40pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed 21 of his 34 pass attempts for 169 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 21-18 loss to the New England Patriots. He added 30 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown on eight carries. Filling in for the injured Kenny Pickett (ankle), Trubisky struggled to lead the Steelers' offense on Thursday night. Although he connected with Diontae Johnson on a nice deep ball for a 25-yard score, the 29-year-old missed open receivers and made questionable decisions on multiple occasions. If Pickett is ruled out again in Week 15, Trubisky would likely be in line to make a second consecutive start against the Indianapolis Colts.

Dec 3 7:23pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky completed 11-of-17 passes for 117 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals, while running three times for five yards in relief of the injured QB Kenny Pickett (ankle).

Dec 3 7:20pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed 11 of 17 pass attempts for 117 yards and a touchdown in a 24-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He also lost a fumble. Trubisky entered the contest late in the second quarter to relieve the injured Kenny Pickett (ankle). Pittsburgh struggled to do much offensively on Sunday but Trubisky managed to find Diontae Johnson for a 2-yard score in the fourth quarter. If Pickett cannot suit up on Thursday night against the New England Patriots, Trubisky would likely be in line to make his first start of the season.

From RotoBaller

Oct 29 8:03pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mitchell Trubisky completed 15-of-27 passes for 138 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in relief of the injured QB Kenny Pickett (rib).

Fantasy Spin: Trubisky could be in line to start Thursday's Week 9 game against the visiting Tennessee Titans with the quick turnaround, but he isn't a recommended fantasy option outside of the deepest leagues which require two starting signal callers.
