Dynasty | The Chiefs have re-signed tight end Travis Kelce. Dynasty Analysis: Kelce gets a one-year deal worth $12 million that has incentives that could bring it closer to $15 million in the end. Regardless, the important thing to note here is the veteran tight end has decided not to retire and should remain a solid TE1, though far from the elite game changer he once was. He remains a solid target for contending teams as he finishes his career on a year-to-year basis.

Mar 9 6:00pm ET

Eleven-time Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs have officially agreed to terms on a new deal on Monday, sources told Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. Kelce will be back for a 14th NFL season in 2026, but the terms of the deal are undisclosed. The 36-year-old future Hall of Famer contemplated retirement for the second straight offseason, but all signs had been pointing toward him returning to play for the Chiefs this fall. He will be hoping to get KC back to the postseason after they fell short in 2025 following three straight Super Bowl appearances. Kelce is no longer in his prime -- he hasn't reached 1,000 receiving yards since 2022 -- but the four-time All-Pro was still a top-five fantasy football tight end last year with 76 catches, 851 yards, and five touchdowns in 17 games played. He's more injury-prone near the end of his career, but his strong connection with quarterback Patrick Mahomes makes up for it. Kelce will be a midrange TE1 in fantasy drafts this fall.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce agreed to terms on a new one-year contract with the Chiefs Monday, March 9, worth $12 million, according to a source. The deal can be worth as much as $15 million with incentives.

Fantasy Spin: Kelce is not posting the same numbers he did earlier in his career but is still a main part of the Chiefs passing game. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce is expected to return to the Chiefs for a 14th season in 2026, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The 36-year-old made his 11th Pro Bowl in 2025 and will stay loyal and return to KC despite having the opportunity to test the open market this offseason. The four-time All-Pro hasn't reached the 1,000-yard receiving mark since 2022 and is a much bigger injury risk for fantasy football purposes, but he still has enough in the tank to be in the TE1 picture for his 14th NFL season. Kelce caught 76 of his 108 targets last year for 851 yards and five touchdowns, ranking as the TE4 in half-PPR scoring. He's no longer at his peak, obviously, but he will return to a Chiefs offense with quarterback Patrick Mahomes still at the helm and with future Hall of Fame head coach Andy Reid running the offense.

Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent TE Travis Kelce has decided to return in 2026, and his goal is to return to the Chiefs.

Fantasy Spin: Kelce was the TE3 in fantasy with a 76-851-5 campaign. At 36, he'll be a midrange TE1 option with a boost in PPR formats.

Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent tight end Travis Kelce appears "motivated to return" for a 14th NFL season, based on conversations that The Athletic's Dianna Russini has had with several teams. The Chiefs are "very much" in the mix to re-sign the three-time Super Bowl champion and four-time All-Pro tight end. The 36-year-old veteran has contemplated retirement for the second straight offseason, and although nothing is official, all signs have pointed towards Kelce returning in 2026, most likely back in KC. The 11-time Pro Bowler was the TE4 in half-PPR scoring in his 13th NFL season last year with 76 receptions on 108 targets for 851 yards and five touchdowns in 17 starts. Kelce has not had 1,000 receiving yards since 2022, but he proved last year that he can still be very valuable for fantasy football purposes, even if his ceiling isn't as an elite high-end TE1 anymore.

Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent TE Travis Kelce is expected to play a 14th NFL season, and his representation is indicating they are expected to talk to multiple teams about their client. It was assumed he could either retire or re-sign with the Chiefs, especially once the team brought back offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, and Kelce was said to be excited.

Fantasy Spin: It sure would be strange to see Kelce in another uniform, and it could simply be a smoke screen from his representation. We'll see. Wherever he lands, assuming he doesn't retire, Kelce would still be a legit low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues in 2026.

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said on Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine that the team is hoping that impending free-agent tight end Travis Kelce returns for a 14th NFL season, according to Nate Taylor of ESPN. At the same time, Veach said the Chiefs are "prepared for either scenario" when discussing Kelce's future. The 36-year-old future Hall of Famer is contemplating retirement for the second straight offseason, but the general feeling is that he will return in 2026. Kelce was still plenty productive last year despite the Chiefs not making the playoffs for the first time in a decade. He finished as the TE4 in half-PPR scoring with 76 receptions on 108 targets for 851 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games played. If Kelce does come back for a 14th season, it will likely be in KC. Durability will continue to be a concern for Kelce near the end of his career, but if he's back next season, he should still be firmly on the TE1 radar in fantasy drafts.

Feb 22 5:33pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has yet to decide upon retirement or his future plans, but he is excited about the return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to the organization. 'It's great,' he said recently on his podcast. 'I can't wait to see him back in the building. He's one of my favorite coaches of all time. I've had so many unbelievable growing moments under him as a player.'

Fantasy Spin: Kelce led the team with 76 receptions, 851 receiving yards, 108 targets, five receiving touchdowns and 45 receiving first downs, so he has plenty left in the tank. Could the return of Bieniemy make it easier for Kelce to decide to run it back for one more season? The organization certainly hopes he can play at least one more season, and that could have been part of the reason to bring back Bieniemy. If Kelce plays again in 2026, he would certainly be a low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Friday that the team has been communicating with impending free-agent tight end Travis Kelce, according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic. "There is communication. That's the main thing. That means people want to move forward. I [think] that's where Travis is," Reid said. The 36-year-old 11-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro is contemplating retirement for the second straight offseason, but if he decides to return for a 14th season in the NFL, he'll most likely re-sign with KC. The Chiefs have made it clear that they want Kelce back if he doesn't hang up his cleats. Despite his age, Kelce remained productive for fantasy managers in 2025, finishing as the TE4 in half-PPR scoring with 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns on 108 targets. If Kelce comes back, he'll be a midrange TE1 target in fantasy with more risk of injury because of his age.

Feb 20 2:13pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has had 'communication' with himself and the team, according to head coach Andy Reid. He adds there is no update on his decision to play in the 2026 NFL season.

Fantasy Spin: While Kelce is mauling retirement, his fantasy continues to shrink. He is long past his prime years, and the late-season ACL tear to QB Patrick Mahomes complicates matters further. Fantasy players could start to make their post-Kelce plans regardless of his decision.

Feb 9 3:30pm ET

The Kansas City Chiefs want impending free-agent tight end Travis Kelce back in 2026 if he decides to play for another season, sources told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Kelce has not made a firm decision on his playing future, but reports over the weekend suggest that he could be leaning toward playing another season. The 36-year-old 11-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro caught 76 of his 108 targets for 851 yards and five touchdowns in his 17 starts in 2025 in his 13th year in the league. Although Kelce finished under 1,000 receiving yards for the third straight season, he still managed to finish as the TE4 in half-PPR scoring, and he should remain a favorite target of quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee) in 2026 if he comes back. Kelce is long in the tooth, but he should stay in TE1 territory in fantasy football next season if he returns, especially considering the team has multiple receivers that will hit the free-agent market.

Feb 8 10:53am ET

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce plans to get in touch with the team after the Super Bowl to discuss his future plans, according to multiple sources. The 36-year-old had reportedly been contemplating retirement but the Chiefs would like him to return for at least one more season.

Fantasy Spin: Although Kelce has not announced an official decision regarding playing in 2026, he made a comment on his podcast celebrating the recent return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to the Chiefs' coaching staff which hinted that he could come back for the 2026 campaign. If Kelce's playing career continues, he will continue to play an important role in the Kansas City offense and could be viewed as a low-end TE1 in fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has not made an official decision on his playing future, but people close to him believe he could play again in 2026, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation during the offseason to see if Kelce retires or continues playing. He will continue to be a solid part in the Chiefs passing game if he plays in 2026 and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in leagues.

From TheHuddle

Feb 7 10:20am ET

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has yet to decide whether he will return to the NFL in 2026, but that "many close to him believe he could return" and a "14th season is looking more real than ever." Kelce will turn 37 years old in October. While he's not the same player he was at his peak, the veteran tight end remained productive in 2025. Across 17 games, Kelce hauled in 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns on 108 targets. If Kelce does indeed decide to suit up in 2026, he will likely still be one of the top pass-catchers in Kansas City, particularly given the potential of a suspension for Chiefs wideout Rashee Rice. However, Kelce may be without Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee) for the early part of the year as Mahomes recovers from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season.

Feb 2 10:10pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce could hang up his cleats after 13 seasons in the NFL. It's still unclear if he'll return for a 14th campaign with the Chiefs after playing out the two-year, $34.25 million deal he signed with KC in April of 2024. The 36-year-old future Hall of Famer was slightly better in 2025 than he was in 2024, but he still finished with fewer than 1,000 yards receiving for the third straight season. Kelce hauled in 76 of his 108 targets for 851 yards and five touchdowns in 17 starts. He became the third TE in history to reach 13,000 receiving yards, and he also had at least 75 catches for the 10th straight season. Kelce clearly is no longer in his prime, but he was still a top-five fantasy TE in half-PPR scoring in a season in which the Chiefs didn't even make the postseason. If Kelce returns to the Chiefs for one more run at it in 2026, he'll still be a top-10 fantasy target at the TE position, albeit one with more injury risk than ever before.

Jan 4 9:13pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce hauled in three of his six targets for 12 yards in Week 18 versus the Las Vegas Raiders.

Fantasy Spin: In what might have been the final game of his storied career, Kelce can be excused for having such a poor performance since he was catching passes from Shane Buechele and Chris Oladokun. Kelce has said previously that he intends to decide about his playing future before the start of free agency. Until then, prospecting dynasty managers should consider stashing Noah Gray if they still can.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 2:20am ET

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will look to finish out the season on a high note in a Week 18 matchup against a middle-of-the-road Las Vegas Raiders' defense. While Kelce hasn't been the fantasy superstar we've grown accustomed to for quite some time now, even at 36 years old, he's enjoying a productive season. Chris Oladokun's inexperience undoubtedly caps some of Kelce's ceiling, although the former didn't look totally overmatched in Week 17's loss to Denver. Moreover, Kelce led the team in yards (36), targets (six), and receptions (five) in that contest. This Sunday, he'll face a Raiders' defense that's been roughly league average. They'll also be without star defensive end Maxx Crosby (knee). With the veteran still a focal point, fantasy managers can rely on Kelce as a back-end TE1 for the matchup. He'll officially land as RotoBaller's PPR TE12 for his meeting with Las Vegas.
