Dynasty | Tyrod Taylor is signing a two year deal with the New York Jets Dynasty Analysis: Taylor is headed to his seventh team in his NFL career, this time to back up Aaron Rodgers in New York. He should provide some insurance in case something happens to Rodgers, hoping to help them avoid a huge falloff in performance at the position like last year.He is 35 years old and likely doesn't see the field unless something drastic happens. He shouldn't be rostered in most dynasty leagues unless the rosters are extremely deep.

The New York Jets agreed to terms on an undisclosed deal with free-agent quarterback Tyrod Taylor on Monday, according to sources. The journeyman quarterback will remain in New York after spending the last two seasons with the Giants. Taylor was forced to play in 11 games (five starts) for the G-Men last year due to injuries to Daniel Jones (knee), and he completed 64.4 percent of his passes for 1,341 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in those contests behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league. With the Jets expected to trade Zach Wilson this offseason, Taylor could operate as Aaron Rodgers' primary backup in 2024. The 34-year-old won't save the Jets' offense if Rodgers gets hurt again next year, but he gives the team some veteran experience at the position after playing in 92 games (58 starts) in his 13 seasons in the NFL with six different teams.

New York Giants impending free-agent QB Tyrod Taylor will be talking with the Giants this week about a possible new contract, according to general manager Joe Schoen.

New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor completed 23 of his 32 passes for 297 yards, a touchdown and an interception and rushed for 38 yards in a 27-10 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 18.

New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson caught five passes for 85 yards in the team's 27-10 upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Robinson led the team in both categories. It was also his season-high mark for receiving yards. With Tyrod Taylor under center for these final three games, the New York passing game finally had a pulse. Robinson and Darius Slayton were the biggest beneficiaries. The second-year slot receiver finishes the 2023 campaign with 60 catches for 525 yards, nine carries for 87 yards, and two touchdowns.

New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (thumb) completed 23 passes for 297 yards and one touchdown while adding 38 yards on the ground. He also tossed one interception in an upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Taylor missed one series in the first quarter because of a thumb injury but was able to return and torch the Philadelphia secondary. Taylor would have likely topped the 300-yard mark for the second straight week without missed plays. The veteran took advantage of weak defenses in his starts to end the 2023 season and will likely be one of the more stable backup quarterbacks in the NFL again in 2024.

New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (thumb) has returned to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He had been listed as questionable after suffering an injury to the thumb on his throwing hand. The veteran signal-caller was temporarily replaced by rookie Tommy Devito but didn't miss too much time. Evidently, Taylor and the Giants' medical staff felt confident that he could return to the game without a serious risk of re-injury. It's also worth noting that DeVito was seen limping off the field, though it's unclear if his apparent lower-body injury is anything serious.

New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson is putting together better numbers with quarterback Tyrod Taylor under center. In Week 18, the slot receiver draws the Philadelphia Eagles, who are one of the worst defenses against wide receivers. The 23-year-old still doesn't provide much of a threat downfield, but the Giants are putting the football in the air more often with Taylor. That could boost Robinson's reception numbers this week. With a handful of star receivers across the league expected to sit this weekend, Robinson could end up several spots higher than his average finish.

New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) is off of the injury report for Week 18, logging limited practices throughout the week. The veteran picks up his second consecutive start and fifth overall this season. In three of those starts, he's drawn some of the weakest secondaries in the NFL (Washington, Los Angeles, and now Philadelphia). In one half of action two weeks ago against the Eagles, Taylor threw for 133 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, which came on the final play of the game. He's also connected with Darius Slayton on long touchdowns in back-to-back games. Taylor is an interesting QB2 option in fantasy football and the matchup makes him a strong candidate for DFS lineups.

New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor (back) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 5, but is not on the injury report for Week 18.

Fantasy Spin: Taylor will be the starting quarterback for the final game of the season but probably will only be an option in two-quarterback leagues.

New York Giants S Jason Pinnock (toe) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles. CB Deonte Banks (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is listed as doubtful. C John Michael Schmitz (shin) was limited in practice for a second straight day on Friday, Jan. 5, and is listed as questionable. LB Carter Coughlin (shoulder), CB Darnay Holmes (foot) and QB Tyrod Taylor (back) were limited in practice all week but have been removed from the injury report. S Dane Belton (personal) practiced in full on Friday and is also expected to play.

New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) was limited in the team's practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. It was announced earlier this week that Taylor would make his second straight start for the G-Men to close out the year in Week 18 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. We fully expect Taylor to be fine to play this weekend, but in the event the Giants play it safe and hold the veteran out, it would be rookie Tommy Devito making the start instead. For those feeling frisky in DFS, the 34-year-old Taylor could be a worthwhile, low-cost play while facing an Eagles defense that has been very generous to opposing QBs all year. On top of it, the Eagles could be resting key veterans on both sides of the ball this weekend with an eye toward getting healthier for the postseason. Taylor threw for over 300 yards with a TD and a pick in the one-point loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17.

New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 4.

New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) was a limited participant in Wednesday's team practice. Earlier on Wednesday, Giants head coach Brian Daboll named Taylor the official starter for Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles, so the back issue doesn't appear to be a serious injury. The veteran quarterback will have two more chances to upgrade his practice status before facing a pass-friendly Eagles defense. Philadelphia has allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, making Taylor an interesting DFS play this weekend.

Jan 3 2:43pm CT

New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor (back) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 3. The Giants did not hold a practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Spin: Taylor is expected to be the starter for Week 18, but fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation to make sure he does not suffer any setbacks. He should be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues but is a risky option in standard leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 3 11:10am CT

New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor will start the team's Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday versus the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. The G-Men have nothing left to play for but pride in a game in which the Eagles could be resting key starters. The 34-year-old veteran signal-caller took over for the ineffective rookie Tommy Devito in last week's one-point loss to the Los Angeles Rams and went 27-for-41 for a season-high 319 yards, one touchdown and an interception while also fumbling. In a game against a vulnerable Eagles secondary that could be resting starters, Taylor could be a decent QB2 streaming option for fantasy managers in superflex leagues that are still competing for a championship in Week 18.
