New York Giants QB Russell Wilson recently held a workout with WR Darius Slayton, WR Wan'Dale Robinson and TE Theo Johnson.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson likely will be the leading candidate for the starting quarterback entering training camp based on the contract he signed this offseason. He had some productive outings in 2024 but struggled at the end of the season. Wilson likely will be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

New York Giants QB Russell Wilson will work with the first-team offense during offseason workouts, according to general manager Joe Schoen.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson received a good contract from the Giants, so he should be the leading candidate for the starting job even if the team selects a quarterback in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Wilson played well at times this past season but should only be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Mar 26 9:40pm CT

New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson said he expects to be the team's starting QB in 2025 after agreeing to a one-year deal worth $10.5 million guaranteed on Tuesday. Wilson joins veteran Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito in the G-Men's quarterback room, although they could still add a rookie signal-caller in April's draft. The 36-year-old underwhelmed in his two seasons in Denver in 2022 and 2023 and then completed 63.7% of his 336 pass attempts for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 regular-season starts for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. The 10-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl champion is clearly past his prime, but he'll have some decent weapons in New York, most notably second-year wideout Malik Nabers. However, given how he's looked the last three years, Wilson is unlikely to be much more than a midrange QB2 in fantasy in 2025, at best.

New York Giants QB Russell Wilson said he expects to open the 2025 season as the starting quarterback.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson probably will enter training camp as the significant favorite for the starting job even if the team selects a quarterback in the first round because of the contract he signed. Fantasy players can monitor the situation over the next few months but should consider Wilson a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Dynasty | The Giants have signed free agent quarterback Russell Wilson. Dynasty Analysis: One of the last big quarterback dominoes has now fallen as Wilson has a new home. While he hasn't been able to produce near the magic he did in Seattle with Denver or Pittsburgh, he was more than competent last season with the Steelers, posting 2,482 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He'll give the Giants another veteran presence as he joins Jameis Winston on the depth chart. This move clearly won't step the Giants from drafting a rookie quarterback but also won't force their hand. Should Wilson enter the season as a starter, he'll be a decent QB2 for as long as he holds the job. He just isn't going to be a long-term answer anywhere at this point in his career, however.

Free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New York Giants Tuesday, March 25, worth as much as $21 million, according to sources. The deal includes $10.5 million in guaranteed money.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson appears to be on track to start for the Giants based on the money he will be receiving. He had some success with the Steelers last season but did struggle at the end of the season. He can be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues next season if he starts for the Giants.

Mar 25 6:00pm CT

The New York Giants and Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $21 million on Tuesday, including $10.5 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 10-time Pro Bowler had been in talks with the Giants, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers but has chosen the G-Men, where he will be their projected starter heading into the 2025 season. The 36-year-old veteran had two underwhelming seasons for the Denver Broncos in 2022-23 before throwing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 regular-season starts for Pittsburgh in 2024. Wilson got a late start last year due to a nagging calf injury. He initially gave the Steelers offense a spark but overall was mostly underwhelming. Russ will have one of the best young wideouts in the game to throw deep balls to in Malik Nabers, but he's unlikely to suddenly become an every-week QB1 in fantasy at this stage of his career. The Giants also added veteran Jameis Winston last week and could still take a QB with the third overall pick of April's NFL draft.

Mar 23 12:10pm CT

Free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson remains on the New York Giants' radar despite the fact that the team signed veteran QB Jameis Winston this week, according to multiple sources. Winston was specifically signed to be the backup signal-caller in New York (he received $4 million per year), so Wilson should not be ruled out. The sources also said the Giants technically are also still in the mix for free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers, but that it currently "seems unlikely" he'll go there. Even if the G-Men also sign Wilson, it won't rule them out from taking a rookie quarterback in this year's NFL draft -- the Giants have the No. 3 overall pick and have been rumored to be keen on trading up to No. 1 overall. The 36-year-old Wilson has visited both the Giants and Browns, and he could still be an option to re-sign with the Steelers if Rodgers decides to retire. Wilson could mesh nicely with Malik Nabers in New York, but he'd be a low-end QB2 in fantasy if he signs with the Giants.

Free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) appears to be the Cleveland Browns' top choice amongst available quarterbacks, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, although there is still a chance that he could return to the Pittsburgh Steelers if free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) decides not to sign there. As a contingency plan, the Browns have also maintained interest in free-agent QB Carson Wentz (Eagles).

Mar 22 10:03am CT

The New York Giants' signing of QB Jameis Winston earlier this week would not necessarily preclude them from signing another free-agent quarterback, such as QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) or QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets), according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Fantasy Spin: Winston is likely to open the 2025 season as the Giants' starter, even if the team drafts a quarterback, unless they also sign Wilson or Rodgers. If he plays, Winston should be viewed as a QB2 option for fantasy leagues.

ESPN's Adam Schefter says that with the Cleveland Browns being limited financially in what they can do since they have so much money tied up in quarterback Deshaun Watson (Achilles), they probably can't offer free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson what the Pittsburgh Steelers or New York Giants can. As a result, the Steelers and Giants sound a bit more plausible as landing spots for Wilson for the time being, per Schefter. There's currently no urgency for the Steelers and Giants to sign Wilson, especially as they wait to see whether the Minnesota Vikings will get involved with Aaron Rodgers. The best-case scenario for the 36-year-old Wilson from fantasy perspective would be a return to Pittsburgh, but that would mean Rodgers would have land in Minnesota or New York. Regardless of where Wilson is playing in 2025, the declining veteran will most likely be a low-end QB2 in fantasy if he's the starter.

Mar 16 9:13am CT

Free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) is reportedly ready to sign a new contract with an NFL team but likely won't do so until after free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) has signed a deal first, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Fantasy Spin: At this point, it appears as though Rodgers will sign with either the New York Giants or the Pittsburgh Steelers, with Wilson believed to be the top option for whichever team doesn't wind up with Rodgers. Regardless of where either player lands next season, they should both be viewed as QB2 options in fantasy leagues.

Free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) visited the New York Giants Thursday, March 14 for dinner, continuing into Friday, March 15 with a meeting with team owners in the office.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson also has met with the Cleveland Browns. Wherever he lands, Wilson would enter the 2025 season as a QB2 in all fantasy leagues. New York is an intriguing landing spot, as he would have WR Malik Nabers to work with, as well as up-and-coming RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. and newly re-signed WR Darius Slayton.

Mar 12 10:50pm CT

Following a visit with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson will visit with the New York Giants on Friday, a source told The Cleveland Plain Dealer's May Kay Cabot. Wilson is making the rounds but is essentially waiting for free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers to make his decision. Rodgers is deciding between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Giants, although the Minnesota Vikings could also jump into the fray. The 36-year-old veteran is still in the mix to re-sign with the Steelers after Justin Fields agreed to a two-year deal with the New York Jets, but a reunion will only be on the table if Rodgers doesn't choose Pittsburgh. If Rodgers doesn't land in Pittsburgh, a return to the Steel City would make the most sense for Wilson, especially after they acquired Pro Bowl receiver DK Metcalf last weekend. Wilson could pair nicely with receiver Malik Nabers in New York, but he wouldn't be much more than a midrange QB2, at best, in fantasy.

Dynasty | The Browns are hosting quarterback Russell Wilson on a free agent visit. Dynasty Analysis: Well, the plot thickens. Cleveland has a premium draft pick (#2 overall) and could use it on a signal caller this year. They also just traded for Kenny Pickett. Bringing in Wilson could indicate they really don't intend to have Pickett call the shots year and signing Wilson could indicate they're leaning away from taking Cam Ward or Sheduer Sanders at #2. After all, having a rookie and two veterans under contract doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. We'll see what materializes here but it's clear we have some raised eyebrows at the moment.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Mar 12 3:53pm CT

Updating a previous report, free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) is reportedly scheduled to meet with the New York Giants this week after he visits the Cleveland Browns, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: New York would be an odd but somewhat interesting fit for Wilson. While Wilson has been able to make at least one pass-catcher on his team viable in fantasy just about every year of his career, he is not a quarterback a team wants to be throwing 40 times per game either - which might be the case with New York in 2025. Regardless of the landing spot, Wilson should not be considered anything more than a low-end QB2 this season.

From TheHuddle

Mar 12 3:23pm CT

Free-agent QB Russell Wilson (Steelers) is planning to visit with the Cleveland Browns later in the week, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson would undoubtedly represent an upgrade over what Deshaun Watson has provided during his time in Cleveland, but is he much of an upgrade on Jameis Winston? For his part, Wilson has posted a touchdown-to-interception ratio over 3:1 over the last two seasons. What has been lacking is the overwhelming touchdown efficiency he enjoyed earlier in his career and two of his lowest yards per attempt marks. If Wilson ends up in Cleveland, he should be viewed as little more than a back-end QB2.

From TheHuddle

Mar 12 3:20pm CT

Free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson is scheduled to fly to Cleveland on Wednesday night to visit with the Browns on Thursday, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. Wilson will then fly to New York on Thursday night to visit with the Giants on Friday. The Steelers were unable to re-sign Justin Fields -- he landed a two-year deal with the New York Jets -- but it appears Pittsburgh is now more interested in signing Aaron Rodgers than running it back with Wilson. That leaves the Browns and Giants as the most likely landing spots for the 36-year-old signal-caller, who threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 starts for the Steelers in 2024. He's become more of a low-end QB2 in fantasy at this point in his career, but a move to Cleveland, where he'd competing with Kenny Pickett for the starting job, would be the least attractive from a fantasy perspective.

From RotoBaller

Mar 10 10:10pm CT

While the Tennessee Titans have Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson on their radar, Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson writes that he gets the sense that the Titans don't have strong interest in him. Robinson believes Wilson's market beyond the New York Giants is pretty flat at the moment, and University of Miami QB Cam Ward remains in play for the team if they keep the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft. The Cleveland Browns traded for Kenny Pickett on Monday, but it's not out of the question that they'd add Wilson as competition under center for 2025 with Deshaun Watson (Achilles) unlikely to play at all. The Steelers seem intent on going after future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers instead of running it back with Wilson after he lost the final five games of the year. The 36-year-old can still throw a great deep ball but doesn't have a lot left otherwise. Landing in New York and working with Malik Nabers would be a best-case scenario for his diminishing fantasy value.
