New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave is still waiting for his first big game of the year. He opened the season with a dud and then followed it with a modest four-catch, 81-yard effort in Week 2 that would have looked much better had he not been stopped just short of the end zone. To be fair to Olave, game scripts have not been conducive to a voluminous passing attack as each of the Saints' first two games have been blowout victories. Things can change as soon as this week when the Philadelphia Eagles head to New Orleans. The matchup has one of the highest expected point totals on Sunday's slate and if the game does devolve into a shootout, then Olave should see more, and more lucrative, opportunities. The Eagles, who are giving up 16.7 yards per catch to opposing wide receivers, will have to work hard to contain Olave, who has the third-best average separation score in the league. Lock Olave into starting lineups in Week 3.

New Orleans Saints receiver Chris Olave had a promising Week 2 performance after a disappointing Week 1 showing. Olave was targeted six times, securing four receptions for 81 yards. His 37.5% target share was the most exciting part of the showing, as he saw just two targets in last week's win. Olave connected with quarterback Derek Carr on a 39-yard reception early in the game as the offense got rolling. Game script hasn't favored the passing game with the Saints winning in two blowouts so far, so Olave should only see better days ahead.

New Orleans Saints receiver Chris Olave was seldom used in Week 1's rout of Carolina, totaling just two targets on the day. He will likely be more involved this week in what projects as a closer game against Dallas on the road. The Cowboys' pass defense looked strong in Week 1's win over Cleveland, which drops Olave into low-end WR2 range this week. The third-year receiver has a low floor, as evidenced by last week's game, and could be sat if you have better options. Game script should allow for more opportunity for the former first-round pick this week.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave had a disappointing outing in Week 1's 47-10 win over Carolina. Olave was only targeted twice, catching both passes for 11 yards. Derek Carr only attempted 23 passes due to the fact that New Orleans was up big early, but the performance was still discouraging for fantasy owners. Olave still projects as the Saints' top receiver and should remain in lineups despite a bad Week 2 matchup with Dallas.

New Orleans Saints receiver Chris Olave should once again be set to lead the receiving room in 2024 after the departure of the oft-injured Michael Thomas. Olave was commonly selected in Round 2 of fantasy drafts this draft season, making it likely that he will be thrust into starting lineups in Week 1. Expectations should be tempered, as Carolina offers a strong matchup on the ground but a weaker matchup for receivers. Olave is in WR2 territory entering his season debut, and is the favorite to lead the team in targets.

New Orleans Saints' receiver Chris Olave started in the preseason loss to the San Francisco 49ers, drawing targets early on from quarterback Derek Carr. On four targets, Olave caught three balls for 26 yards. The third-year professional appears set for a massive target share this season as evidenced through the first two preseason games along with the lack of talent around him. While his ceiling this season is only as high as Klint Kubiak can take the New Orleans offense, Olave should have a safe floor week-to-week.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave drew four targets in Saturday's win over Arizona, but only caught one for 10 yards. Olave was the target of Derek Carr's first three pass attempts, indicating that he will be targeted early and often this season. With Rashid Shaheed (hamstring) sitting out, Olave was by far the most trusted receiver on the field with the starters for New Orleans. It remains unclear whether the third-year receiver will see any more preseason action prior to Week 1's matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave is 'going to give out problems' in the team's new offense, according to DE Cameron Jordan.

The New Orleans Saints signed wide receiver Samson Nacua on Friday, the team announced on X. The brother of 2023 breakout star Puka Nacua spent four seasons at Utah before one year at BYU in 2021 and tallied 103 receptions for 1,344 yards and 14 touchdowns in 58 collegiate games. He went undrafted and last played for the Michigan Panthers of the UFL this spring, catching 11 passes for 125 yards. The 26-year-old is unlikely to be a fantasy football contributor in 2024, but he has an outside chance of making the team's roster given the lack of depth behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.

After leaving practice on Tuesday following a training camp scare where New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (hip) landed on his hip, Olave returned to practice on Wednesday. Hopefully, this is more of a minor bump than anything that will linger throughout camp, but it's excellent news that the 24-year-old Olave returned to the field just 24 hours later. The bulk of the passing game targets should go directly to Olave in 2024, as Olave and Alvin Kamara are the only two members of the Saints' roster who have earned 75 or more targets in a season. For fantasy purposes, Olave is a low-end WR1 with big-time upside at wide receiver in 2024.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (hip) left Tuesday's practice early after landing on his hip, head coach Dennis Allen said. Allen had no further updates when addressing the media shortly after the session had ended. Fantasy managers should deem Olave day-to-day until more information is available, but there's a chance his exit was a precautionary measure at this stage of the season. Although the 24-year-old star wideout struggled for efficiency last season with the Saints and quarterback Derek Carr, as evidenced by his unimpressive 8.1 yards per target over 138 targets, his 32 deep targets in 16 games and role as New Orleans' undisputed top target gives him a strong floor and ceiling combination in the early rounds of drafts this summer. Olive's ADP as a WR1 option should not be adjusted for this situation.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave is set to practice on Wednesday, albeit in a limited fashion. Olave (back) was put on the active/non-football injury list last week as he's been dealing with some minor back tightness but will be good to go to put in some practice work for the team on Wednesday. Olave has put up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and is the unquestioned top receiver in the New Orleans offense. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable selecting Olave in the early rounds of fantasy drafts yet again this season.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (back) has been placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. Fantasy managers don't need to panic with fantasy draft season quickly approaching. According to Nick Underhill, Olave is dealing with minor back tightness and should be fine soon. The former first-round pick should serve as the team's primary offensive option once again. He has been a stud since entering the league with two straight 1,000-plus yard campaigns. Fantasy managers shouldn't need to monitor this situation with the young stud only dealing with a minor back issue.

Jun 6 10:10am CT

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (shoulder) is wearing a non-contact jersey at summer practices due to a shoulder injury he suffered in the weight room a few weeks ago. However, head coach Dennis Allen said the former first-round pick has been going through full practices anyway, so this minor ailment shouldn't cause much concern. The 23-year-old has been fantastic through his first two NFL seasons, securing 159 of his 257 targets for 2,165 yards and nine touchdowns in 31 games. While Derek Carr isn't viewed as a high-level quarterback, he's been good enough to support fantasy WR1s throughout his career. New Orleans failed to add significant target competition this offseason, meaning Olave remains a WR1 candidate in his third NFL campaign.
