Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) will miss his third straight game as he will not suit up this weekend when the Browns face the Las Vegas Raiders. The tight end suffered a high-ankle sprain in the season-opener against the Dallas Cowboys and has remained sidelined since. However, the 28-year-old returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday but is still not cleared to return to game action. Fantasy managers should monitor Njoku's status before their Week 5 match against the Washington Commanders. Fantasy managers should expect Jordan Akins to serve as the lead tight end again on Sunday. He could be a viable play in deeper formats, as he caught four of his seven targets last week.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) was ruled out for the Week 4 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Kevin Stefanski said Friday, Sept. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku was able to return to practice, but the Browns are clearly taking a cautious approach with the tight end. Maybe he can return in Week 5, but managers will need another pivot option this week.

From TheHuddle

Sep 26 9:00pm CT

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) was back on the practice field on Thursday. This is a welcoming sight as this was Njoku's first practice since September 6. It still remains unclear if Njoku will suit up for the Week 4 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Friday's practice session should go a long way to determining whether or not Njoku plays. There's a chance that Njoku is on a snap count considering he hasn't played since Week 1. If healthy, Njoku should be a low-end TE1 against a Raiders defense that has struggled to slow down the tight end this season.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) was limited at practice on Thursday, Sept. 26, after not taking part the day before.

Fantasy Spin: This is the first practice Njoku has taken part in since he got hurt and it gives him a shot to play in Week 4. He can be deployed as a TE1 if he suits up.

Cleveland Browns OT Jack Conklin (hamstring), LB Jordan Hicks (ribs, elbow), RB Pierre Strong (hamstring), DT Dalvin Tomlinson (rest) and OT Jedrick Wills (knee) did not practice on Thursday, Sept. 26. Also, OG Joel Bitonio (knee), OG Javion Cohen (back), RB Jerome Ford (knee), DB Mike Ford (knee), DE Myles Garrett (foot, Achilles, thigh), OT James Hudson (shoulder), OT Dawand Jones (knee), TE David Njoku (ankle) and DE Alex Wright (triceps) were limited and WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (hand) and CB Denzel Ward (shoulder) practiced in full.

Sep 26 1:53pm CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) was spotted at practice on Thursday, Sept. 26.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku will almost certainly be listed as limited when the team releases its practice report in an hour or two, but it is a great sign for the tight end's ability to play soon, perhaps as early as Week 5. A Week 4 return seems unlikely since this was his first practice since Sept. 6. Jordan Akins will likely draw another start if Njoku sits this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders.

From TheHuddle

Sep 25 5:23pm CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku has not played since Week 1 and could miss another game if he does not practice at some point this week. Fantasy players can monitor the situation but probably will have to use another option in their lineup.

From TheHuddle

Sep 25 12:20pm CT

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) remains out of the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Njoku suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and has missed the last two games as a result. With a DNP to open the week, he's off on the wrong foot in terms of returning to play in Week 4 versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Njoku will need to get on the practice field later this week to at least give himself a chance to return. As things stand right now, fantasy managers should be planning to go in another direction for their starting TE spot. In the last two contests with Njoku sidelined, Jordan Akins has been Cleveland's top pass-catching TE but has produced just five receptions on eight targets for 39 receiving yards. If Njoku misses his third straight game, Akins will be a TE2 sleeper play, at best.

From RotoBaller

Sep 25 11:23am CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) will not practice once again on Wednesday, Sept. 25, head coach Kevin Stefanski said.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku hasn't played since Week 1 and it doesn't look like he's going to return this week. Fantasy owners need to have another solution for their tight end spot yet again, and that solution isn't on Cleveland's roster.

From TheHuddle

Sep 23 7:43pm CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku's (ankle) status for Week 4 is uncertain at this point, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Stefanski said the team will have a better idea later in the week.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor Njoku's practice participation during the week to see if he will be able to play against the Las Vegas Raiders. He is a big part of the passing game when healthy and can be a No. 1 tight end if he plays in Week 4.

From TheHuddle

Sep 23 12:20pm CT

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said "we'll see" whether tight end David Njoku (ankle) will be available to play in a Week 4 tilt against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. The Browns and fantasy managers will have a better idea of Njoku's status when they resume practicing on Wednesday. Njoku suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and has missed the last two games as a result. With Njoku sidelined the last two games, Jordan Akins has stepped in as the primary pass-catching TE but has gone for just five receptions on eight targets for 39 yards and no touchdowns. Quarterback Deshaun Watson relied heavily on receiver Amari Cooper in the Week 3 loss to the New York Giants, targeting him 12 times, leading to seven catches, 86 yards and two touchdowns. Njoku will be in play as a low-end TE1 option for fantasy managers if he returns to play in Week 4.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) and RB Pierre Strong (hamstring) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 3 against the New York Giants. OT Jack Conklin (knee) and OT Jedrick Wills (knee) were limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 20, and are listed as questionable. DE Za'Darius Smith (back), CB Denzel Ward (shoulder, toe), LS Charley Hughlett (foot), DE Alex Wright (triceps, elbow), DE Myles Garrett (foot) and OT Dawand Jones (knee) were limited in practice on Friday but no longer appear on the injury report. CB Martin Emerson (ankle, shoulder), WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (hand), DE Dalvin Tomlinson (rest) and WR Jamari Thrash (illness) practiced in full on Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 1:03pm CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 3 versus the New York Giants.

Fantasy Spin: This news should come as no surprise to fantasy managers, as Njoku is only about two weeks out from recovering from an injury that usually sidelines players four to six weeks. Jordan Akins will likely get the nod again, but he would only be a consideration for managers in deep tight end premium leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 12:40pm CT

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) and running back Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) have both been ruled out for the Week 3 contest this Sunday in Tennessee against the Titans. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said earlier this week that it was unlikely that Njoku would return this weekend after spraining his ankle in the Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Fantasy managers will need to keep the 28-year-old on their benches for at least another week. Jordan Akins caught his only target for a 10-yard gain in last week's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fantasy managers should be able to find better TE2 streamers in Week 3. Strong pulled his hammy against the Jaguars and missed practice all week. With the 25-year-old sidelined, D'Onta Foreman could have a bigger role again as the change-of-pace back behind starter Jerome Ford.

From RotoBaller

Sep 19 6:30pm CT

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) missed practice for the second straight day this week. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said already this week that it's unlikely that Njoku will return in Week 3 to face the New York Giants, so it's not much of a surprise that Njoku has yet to practice this week. Fantasy managers should be fully prepared to be without Njoku against this weekend. The 28-year-old suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and could ended up missing more time beyond this weekend. Still, he deserves to be stashed in all fantasy formats for now. In the Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars without Njoku, Jordan Akins was only targeted once and caught it for a 10-yard gain. Meanwhile, receiver Elijah Moore drew a team-high eight targets and came away with six receptions for 44 yards. Akins is, at best, a touchdown-dependent TE2 sleeper this week.

From RotoBaller

Sep 19 3:43pm CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 19.

Fantasy Spin: It seems like Njoku will be sidelined for another game, so fantasy players will need to find other options for their starting lineups.

From TheHuddle

Sep 19 1:53pm CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) and RB Pierre Strong (hamstring) did not practice for a second straight day on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku's absence is a much bigger deal than Strong's, although neither DNP is overly surprising. It would be a surprise if either one played in Week 3 against the New York Giants. Jordan Akins will likely draw another start if Njoku is sidelined, although it is more likely that his targets will be spread among Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and Jerry Jeudy.

From TheHuddle

Sep 18 3:33pm CT

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku is not expected to play in Week 3, but fantasy players can check later in the week to see if he has a better chance to play. Players should have another option ready because of his injury.
