The Cleveland Browns have received interest on tight end David Njoku but they are "highly unlikely" to trade him by Tuesday's deadline, according to sources. The Browns view Njoku as part of their long-term future. Njoku wasn't as impressive in the Week 9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers as he was in quarterback Jameis Winston's first start in the Week 8 win over the division-rival Baltimore Ravens, but the 28-year-old tight end should maintain a higher fantasy ceiling and floor the rest of the way in 2024 with receiver Amari Cooper now in Buffalo. Njoku has had at least five catches in four straight games and has caught 10 of his 14 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown the last two games with Winston starting. Consider Njoku to be on the TE1 radar for a much better matchup in Week 11 against the floundering New Orleans Saints after Cleveland's Week 10 bye.

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku is receiving interest from other teams leading up to the trade deadline, but the Browns are considered highly unlikely to trade him, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku has played well over the last few seasons but has struggled with some injuries in 2024. He will still see a good amount of targets if he stays with the Browns and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end most weeks.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 5:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught five of his seven targets for 29 yards in a 27-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. Njoku was quiet in the lopsided loss just a week after going for 61 yards and a touchdown. That being said, Njoku has now drawn 28 targets over his past three games and should continue to return solid TE1 numbers with Jameis Winston under center. The Browns are on bye in Week 10 before they take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Nov 3 5:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku had five receptions for 29 yards on seven targets in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fantasy Spin: The catch total was good, but the yardage total certainly wasn't great. His modest two-game touchdown streak came to a conclusion, too, and the yardage total was his lowest since Week 5 in his first game back from a multi-week injury. Still, he can be trusted as a low-end TE1 most weeks in fantasy football, but you'll need to make alternate plans in Week 10 with the team on a bye.

Nov 1 4:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns LB Jordan Hicks (elbow, triceps) and LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (neck) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 9 versus the Los Angeles Chargers. LB Khaleke Hudson (ankle) and CB Denzel Ward (concussion) were limited in practice on Friday, Nov. 1, and are listed as questionable. OG Joel Bitonio (foot), WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), TE David Njoku (ankle, hand), C Ethan Pocic (back) and DE Za'Darius Smith (illness) were limited in practice on Friday but have been removed from the injury report. S Grant Delpit (groin), LB Mohamoud Diabate (thigh, groin), RB Jerome Ford (hamstring), DE Myles Garrett (Achilles), DT Shelby Harris (hamstring), S Ronnie Hickman (ankle), DE Ogbo Okoronkwo (knee), QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (finger), S Juan Thornhill (shoulder) and OT Jedrick Wills (knee) practiced in full on Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.

Nov 1 4:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle, hand) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 1, but is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku was added to the injury report during the week but appears to be on track to play this week. He should see a handful of targets against the Los Angeles Chargers and can be a No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 1 1:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers. Njoku was sidelined during Thursday's practice but was able to return on Friday. As a result, this could have simply been a scheduled day off for the tight end as he missed three games earlier in the season with the same injury. The 28-year-old has enjoyed the two best of games of his season over the past two weeks averaging an excellent 20.4 PPR points in each of them. Fantasy managers should view Njoku as a solid TE1 in all formats facing the Los Angeles Chargers who have allowed the 21st-most PPR points to opposing wideouts this season.

Nov 1 1:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) was seen at Friday's practice according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Njoku popped up on the injury report on Thursday with an ankle injury. This is a great sign to see the tight end back at practice which suggests the injury was minor. Fantasy managers should monitor Friday's injury report in case the 28-year-old will carry an injury designation into the weekend. Njoku is coming off the best game of his season as he brought in five passes for 61 yards and a score. If Njoku is able to suit up, he should be viewed as a solid TE1 in all formats.

Oct 31 4:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) did not practice on Thursday according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Njoku was a full participant on Wednesday but seeing him pop up on the injury report on Thursday could put him in danger of missing this weekend's game. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to the 28-year-old's status during Friday's practice as it may provide clarity on his availability for Sunday. Njoku has already missed time earlier this season with an ankle injury. If Njoku is unable to suit up this weekend, fantasy managers should expect Jordan Akins to operate as the lead option.

Oct 31 3:53pm ET

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 31.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Njoku is in danger of missing the Week 9 game. He is one of the better tight ends in the NFL when healthy and should be a starting option in all leagues if active.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 9:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught five of his seven targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Njoku finished fourth on the Browns in receiving yards while hauling in a 23-yard touchdown pass from Jameis Winston in the third quarter, his second touchdown catch over his past two games. The veteran tight end is looking like a top option at the position moving forward with the Cleveland offense all of a sudden looking competent with Winston under center. Treat Njoku as a high-end TE1 heading into Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

From RotoBaller

Oct 27 5:33pm ET

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku posted five receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Spin: Chief is back as a TE1 in all fantasy leagues. He has scored in each of his past two games, and he has five or more receptions and seven or more targets in each of the past three contests. He'll look to keep it rolling in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

From TheHuddle

Oct 25 7:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku turned in a big game in a Week 7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, catching 10 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. The veteran tight end will look to keep it going in a Week 8 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens at home. Njoku should continue to operate as the team's top option moving forward, which puts him in play as a top-three option at the tight end position in fantasy this weekend. The Ravens have been generous to opposing tight ends this season, giving Njoku one of his better matchups of the season. Njoku is also as healthy as he's been for a while as he practiced fully all week after dealing with knee and ankle injuries for much of the season. He should be locked into starting lineups as a no-brainer starting option this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 10:10pm ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku caught 10 of his 14 targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in a 21-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. In his first game as one of the team's top targets after they traded Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills earlier in the week, Njoku came up big as he turned in his best game of the season. He led the Browns in targets and catches while finishing second on the team in receiving yards in the loss. Njoku can be trusted as a mid-range TE1 in fantasy moving forward as he should soak up plenty of targets in the offense. He will take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Oct 20 6:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku finished with 10 receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown on a game-high 14 targets in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Spin: Njoku recorded a late touchdown grab from QB Jameis Winston, who was the third signal caller after both Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson left with injuries. If it is Jameis Winston going forward for Cleveland, the veteran and Njoku looked to have some rapport. After 14 targets on the day, Njoku looked like a legit TE1 in all fantasy leagues again, but beware of the QB situation.

From TheHuddle

Oct 20 4:30pm ET

Browns' TE David Njoku had 10 receptions for 76 yards with one touchdown in Sunday's loss against the Bengals.

Oct 19 9:00am ET

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) is expected to serve as his team's primary target following the trade of Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills earlier in the week. The veteran tight end will look to break out in a home matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. The Bengals have struggled against tight ends this season, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to the position. Njoku has been dealing with an ankle injury for the majority of the season but he practiced fully all week and does not have an injury designation heading into the weekend. Treat Njoku as a low-end TE1 in fantasy in Week 7.

From RotoBaller

Oct 18 4:23pm ET

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) practiced in full for the third consecutive day on Friday, Oct. 18, and carries no designation into Week 7.

Fantasy Spin: The three full sessions suggests Njoku is as healthy as he has been all season. With Amari Cooper gone, the Browns figure to lean on Njoku even more, which could put him back in the TE1 conversation. However, the play of Deshaun Watson remains a concern. For now, Njoku is just a better-than-most TE2 play until we see improved production.

From TheHuddle

Oct 18 4:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford (hamstring) and S Ronnie Hickman (ankle) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 18, and were ruled out for Week 7. Also, C Ethan Pocic (knee) and S Juan Thornhill (calf) were limited and are questionable, CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) was limited but carries no designation, LB Jordan Hicks (triceps, elbow), RB Nyheim Hines (knee) and RB Nick Chubb (knee) practiced in full but are questionable, and S Grant Delpit (concussion), CB Martin Emerson (rib), RB D'Onta Foreman (groin), DE Myles Garrett (Achilles), WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), TE David Njoku (ankle), DE Za'Darius Smith (toe) and OT Jedrick Wills (shoulder, knee) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 17 6:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (ankle) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Fantasy Spin: Death, taxes and David Njoku on the injury report. But the fact that Njoku has logged two full practices suggests he's as healthy as he's been all season. The production has not been there for Njoku, who is typically a TE1. However, with Amari Cooper gone and Njoku seemingly fully healthy, there is hope yet, assuming Deshaun Watson can show some semblance of competence moving forward. Njoku remains on the higher end of the TE2 spectrum, but only because of his past.
