Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Fantasy Spin: If there is good news, it is that Thielen is reportedly expected to be ready to play "sooner than later." It is unfortunate timing for Thielen in that Andy Dalton was dealing in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders and Thielen was one of the primary beneficiaries. Jonathan Mingo has played a few more snaps than rookie Xavier Legette so far and should make for a slightly better waiver wire pickup, although neither player should be started in most leagues for now.

The Carolina Panthers are placing wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday due to the right-hamstring injury he suffered in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, according to a source. There is no timetable on Thielen, but he's expected back sooner than later. Thielen will now be required to miss at least four games, so the earliest he could return would be in Week 8 versus the Denver Broncos. It's a tough blow for fantasy managers that held onto Thielen after a rough first two weeks. The 34-year-old veteran had three catches for 40 yards and his first touchdown of the year in Week 3, though, with quarterback Andy Dalton taking over for the struggling Bryce Young. Thielen isn't a must-stash by any means while he's out, and while he's sidelined, Diontae Johnson, rookie Xavier Legette and Jonathan Mingo will all see a boost in targets.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) is expected to miss some time with a hamstring injury that he suffered in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, according to sources. An exact timetable for Thielen's return is unclear at the moment, but he will miss time. The veteran wideout had three receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown from veteran quarterback Andy Dalton before leaving Sunday's contest with his injury. The news comes after the 34-year-old had an MRI exam on Monday. It's tough news for Thielen, who was becoming interesting again in fantasy with quarterback Bryce Young on the bench. As long as Dalton remains under center, Thielen should have a higher fantasy ceiling, although it's hard to recommend stashing him in shallow leagues since he has no timeline for a return. Rookie Xavier Legette could be worth waiver consideration in deeper leagues with Thielen out.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) left the Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders due a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury making a sliding catch in the end zone.

Fantasy Spin: Thielen finally had a decent stat line, as the Carolina offense looked functional with QB Andy Dalton under center instead of QB Bryce Young. Thielen is well on the downside of 30, but he could be a decent PPR fantasy option when healthy, especially if Dalton continues to start.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Monday, he told David Newton of ESPN.com. Thielen exited in the second half of Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders after suffering an apparent hamstring injury while making a diving touchdown catch. The veteran flashed a strong rapport with Andy Dalton in their limited time together on Sunday afternoon, catching three passes for 40 yards and the touchdown. Thielen noted that he and the team will know more about his injury after Monday's MRI. If he's cleared to play in Week 4, he'd rank as a solid WR3/FLEX play in an offense that has suddenly shown signs of life with Dalton under center.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen finished with three receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sep 22 5:40pm CT

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) won't return to Sunday's meeting with the Raiders. The veteran was playing well. However, he injured his hamstring after securing a touchdown pass. He'll finish Week 3 by amassing three catches for 40 yards and a score. Xavier Legette, Diontae Johnson, and Tommy Tremble will likely see more looks from Andy Dalton for the remainder of the contest.

Sep 22 5:10pm CT

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Raiders. The Panthers offense was efficient in the first half, with Andy Dalton throwing for three touchdown passes. Thielen was the recipient of one of them. Although he injured his hamstring while coming down for the 31-yard score. If he doesn't return for the remainder of Week 3, he'll finish with three receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown. At any rate, Xavier Legette, Diontae Johnson, and Tommy Tremble could benefit for the rest of the game.

Sep 19 9:10am CT

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen will look for more production in Week 3 with Andy Dalton under center as the veteran takes over for Bryce Young. Thielen has been limited in the first two weeks totaling five catches for 69 yards. The veteran receiver can still make plays on the outside and Dalton could be a better option in getting the ball out to him. In Week 3 against the Raiders, Thielen should be looked at as a WR4 option until he proves more productive. Young was not impressive in the first two weeks, but it might not be all on him. Diontae Johnson should lead the team in targets against the Raiders in Week 3 but Thielen is a bit more of a threat for big plays even as the veteran in the wide receiver room. This week will be a big indicator for Thielen's future prospects with Dalton as the starter.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen caught two passes for 20 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2. He was targeted three times during the game.

Sep 15 1:30am CT

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught three of his four targets for 49 yards in the team's Week 1 loss to the Panthers. Although he did lead the team in yards, his target share wasn't encouraging, falling behind WRs Diontae Johnson, Xavier Legette, and Jonathan Mingo in total targets. Now the Panthers gear up for a matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, a team that allowed WRs Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers less than 65 yards each in Week 1, respectively. Thielen's low-usage and Carolina's ineffective passing attack should make fantasy managers avoid him in Sunday's matchup.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen (shoulder) was added to the injury report with a shoulder issue on Friday, Sept. 13, but is expected to play in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fantasy Spin: Thielen's three catches and 49 yards receiving ranked among the best marks for Carolina during its lackluster Week 1 showing against the New Orleans Saints. Although the 34-year-old is still worthy of being a bench option in deeper leagues, the Panthers figure to lean more heavily on Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette as the season progresses than they did in the opener.

Carolina Panthers RB Raheem Blackshear (personal) did not practice for a second straight day on Friday, Sept. 13, but is listed as questionable for Week 2 versus the Los Angeles Chargers. OG Damien Lewis (groin), TE Tommy Tremble (hamstring, back) and OT Taylor Moton (back, knee) were limited in practice on Friday and are listed as questionable. P Johnny Hekker (back) practiced in full on Friday but is also listed as questionable. OG Robert Hunt (shoulder), OT Yosh Nijman (leg) and LB Josey Jewell (groin) were limited in practice on Friday but no longer appear on the injury report. LB Jadeveon Clowney (ankle) and WR Adam Thielen (shoulder) practiced in full on Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen caught three of his four targets for 49 yards in the team's loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Thielen led all Panthers pass-catchers in yards, remaining as a trusted target for quarterback Bryce Young. Carolina's offensive limitations hinder heavily on Thielen's upside, but he could be a name to keep an eye on if he remains the No. 1 option for Young. Fantasy managers can look to Thielen as a WR4/5 option when the Panthers take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen won't suit up for Saturday's preseason contest against the New York Jets. The Panthers plan to sit a majority of their starters during their second preseason contest. The 10-year wideout doesn't necessarily need preseason reps to get ready before Week 1. That being said, fantasy managers shouldn't be alarmed if Thielen sits out the entire preseason. He's coming off an excellent first year in Carolina where he recorded over 100 receptions and 1,000-plus yards in 17 games. The expectation is that Thielen will once again be a focal point in the Panthers offense this upcoming season. In his absence, Jonathan Mingo and Terrace Marshall figure to see a majority of the starting reps on Saturday.

Jul 13 8:40pm CT

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen feels he has more to prove to himself despite being in the NFL for over a decade. "I talk to the young guys about this all the time, is no matter who you are, no matter how old you are, no matter how many years you've been in the league, you have something to prove," Thielen said in an interview. "You have to have that mindset every single day." The 33-year-old is coming off a productive season, amassing his first 1,000-yard receiving campaign since 2018 while finding the end zone four times. Although the Panthers have a lot of question marks regarding the offense, it appears Thielen is not ready to stop being a reliable fantasy asset anytime soon.

Jun 26 9:03pm CT

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen is expected to play in the slot this season with WR Diontae Johnson and WR Xavier Legette starting on the outside, according to Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer.

Fantasy Spin: Thielen was a security blanket for Bryce Young last year, topping 1,000 yards and logging 103 receptions. Even if Young pushes the ball down the field more in his second season, Thielen should still have a solid role. Consider him a potential flex option in PPR formats.

From TheHuddle

Jun 26 2:00pm CT

The Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye projects Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen to remain as the team's slot receiver in 2024 despite the addition of Diontae Johnson and rookie Xavier Legette. The 33-year-old Thielen managed to stay fantasy relevant in his first year in Carolina in 2023 despite rookie quarterback Bryce Young and the offense being one of the worst in the league. Thielen caught 103 of his 137 targets for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns in 17 starts. He should continue to be a safety blanket for Young this year, but the additions of both Johnson and Legette will inevitably take valuable targets away. Fantasy managers certainly shouldn't expect another 1,000-yard campaign for Thielen in 2024. You should be targeting Thielen as merely a late-round flier for receiver depth in deeper fantasy leagues.

From RotoBaller

Jun 21 11:23am CT

Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young is getting more comfortable entering his second NFL season, according to WR Adam Thielen. ''You can tell, Bryce's demeanor in the building -- he's just more comfortable, right? And you don't realize it when you start getting to be a veteran guy, just because you forget about those times,' said Thielen.

Fantasy Spin: Young is coming off a pretty rough rookie season, but the Panthers have done a solid job adding protection and weapons around him. Even so, he's a QB2 option until he proves he has more upside.
