The Tampa Bay Buccaneers want to get wide receiver Mike Evans more involved after their Week 3 loss to the visiting Denver Broncos. "We've got to get him involved more," head coach Todd Bowles said on Monday. Evans has only 15 targets through the first three games of the 2024 season, which is a 38 percent drop from his target share a year ago. The 31-year-old pass-catcher has had at least 100 targets every year of his 10-year career in Tampa, but right now he's on pace to finish with 85 targets. The five-time Pro Bowler has also had 10 straight seasons of 1,000 receiving yards, so the pace is going to need to be picked up if he wants to make it 11 straight in 2024. Sunday's game against Denver was a bit different since the Broncos had lockdown cornerback Patrick Surtain on Evans, and he caught two of three targets for 17 yards. Expect Evans to get the squeaky-wheel treatment in Week 4 against the Eagles.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans has to be involved more in the offense, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Evans has 15 targets in three games and is on pace for 85 targets. He has never had fewer than 100 targets in a season.

Fantasy Spin: Evans is the WR40 with a 10-120-2 line thus far. The problem is that Chris Godwin looks like the version that was a stud with Tom Brady throwing to him before the knee injuries. Godwin is the WR3 in PPR leagues, and while Evans should see an uptick, it should not come at Godwin's expense.

Sep 22 7:13pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans ended up with just two receptions for 17 yards on three targets in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Spin: The Denver defense made it a point to take Evans out of the mix for the Tampa Bay passing attack, and it made a huge difference, as the Bucs struggled to run the ball, too. We all know what Evans is capable of, and this game is simply an anomaly. He remains a must-start fantasy option heading into Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was held in check during Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Denver Broncos. The veteran wideout was unable to do much as he hauled in two of his three targets for 17 yards in the loss. This was expected to be a tough matchup for Evans against star defensive back Patrick Surtain. It doesn't help that quarterback Baker Mayfield was sacked seven times during this game. Evans looks to get back on the WR1 radar against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (non-injury) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 20, but is not on the injury report for Week 3.

Fantasy Spin: Evans has been targeted six times in each of the first two games of the season and should receive a similar workload this week. He will be facing a good Denver Broncos defense but can still be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Sep 20 10:20am CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is coming off a dud performance against the Detroit Lions. The veteran wideout hauled in three of his six targets for 42 yards in the win. It was a quiet game for Evans as he watched fellow wideout Chris Godwin tear up the Lions defense. Now, Evans will draw a tough matchup against Denver Broncos star defensive back Patrick Surtain. Evans always has big-play explosiveness, but could be held in check once again. Throughout the years, Evans has proven to be mostly reliable, so fantasy managers should feel comfortable with him as a WR2 for Week 3.

Sep 15 8:13pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans finished with three receptions for 42 yards on six targets in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Spin: After opening with two scores in Week 1 against Washington, Evans had a mediocre stat line for fantasy managers. The good news is that he is back home in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos. He remains a must-start fantasy option whenever he is healthy.

From TheHuddle

Sep 15 5:20pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was unable to carry his Week 1 success into Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. The veteran wideout finished with 61 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener. However, he was only able to haul in three receptions for 42 yards in the Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions. Evans and quarterback Baker Mayfield weren't on the same page here as Evans only hauled in half of his targets. Fellow wideout Chris Godwin had a much better performance with over 100 yards on Sunday. Evans should be fine and remain on the WR1 radar for a favorable matchup against the Denver Broncos next week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers OT Luke Goedeke (concussion), DB Josh Hayes (ankle), DT Calijah Kancey (calf) and S Antoine Winfield Jr. (foot) did not practice on Friday, Sept. 13, and have been ruled out for Week 2. Also, CB Zyon McCollum (concussion) and DE Logan Hall (foot) practiced in full but are questionable, S Tykee Smith (illness) did not practice and is questionable, LB Lavonte David (rest) and WR Mike Evans (rest) were limited but have no designation, and LB K.J. Britt (illness) and DT William Gholston (elbow) practiced in full and carry no designation.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (rest) was limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 13, but carries no designation into Week 2.

Fantasy Spin: It was just a veteran rest day for Evans, who still managed to practice in some capacity. He remains a borderline WR1 entering Week 2.

From TheHuddle

Sep 12 5:00pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans had seemingly no issues as he tore apart the Washington Commanders defense last week. The veteran wideout hauled in five of his six targets for 61 yards and two touchdowns in the blowout win. Evans has been one of the most reliable wideouts over the last decade and that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. He will get a tougher challenge in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions defense. However, the Lions secondary still has holes, so Evans should be able to continue producing WR1 numbers in Week 2.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans caught five of his six targets for 61 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 1.

Sep 8 8:00pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans had seemingly no issues during Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders. The veteran wideout has been one of the most consistent players throughout his career. That trend continued during Sunday's game as Evans hauled in five receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns in the win. To be fair, the Commanders secondary is shaky, but Evans took advantage of that with two fairly easy touchdowns. Fantasy managers should be able to plug Evans in as WR1 on a weekly basis going forward.

Sep 6 3:23pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (non-injury) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 6, but is not on the injury report for Week 1.

Fantasy Spin: Evans probably will receive some time off during practices this season but will be ready to play as long as he is healthy. He will continue to be a main part of the Buccaneers passing game and can be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 5 7:30pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been one of the most consistent wideouts over the last decade. The veteran wideout has finished with at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last 10 seasons. He has shown no signs of slowing down and is the clear No. 1 target on this offense. Evans will get an excellent matchup in Week 1. He'll face a Washington Commanders defense that allowed the most receiving yards and receiving touchdowns to wideouts last season. Fantasy managers can continue sliding Evans into their WR1 spot without worry heading into the season opener.

Aug 23 5:20pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles told the Buccaneers Radio Network that wide receiver Mike Evans and linebacker Lavonte David will not play in the preseason finale on Friday night against the visiting Miami Dolphins. It's not injury-related at all, with the Bucs just giving them the night off, similar to a veteran's day in practice. Many NFL teams around the league are resting their starters this weekend in their final preseason contests. The 31-year-old Evans will work again with quarterback Baker Mayfield in 2024 after the two showed plenty of chemistry in 2023. Evans saw his most targets (136), catches (79) and yards (1,255) since 2018 and found the end zone a league-leading 13 times. Fantasy managers should expect TD regression, but other than that, Evans should see heavy volume yet again, making him a solid low-end WR1/high-end WR2 target in fantasy drafts.

From RotoBaller

Aug 14 1:20pm CT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans left Wednesday's joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars early, but he was able to return to the session later on. Evans initially walked off the field without assistance, so there's no reason for fantasy managers to be concerned with what sounds like a false alarm here. The 31-year-old Pro Bowl wideout has entrenched himself as a fantasy stalwart throughout his career, and while his role in Tampa Bay as quarterback Baker Mayfield's primary deep threat means his floor might not be as high as those being selected around him, Evans' ceiling remains among fantasy's highest after he totaled 36 deep targets and 13 touchdowns in 17 games for the Bucs last season. He's a fringe WR1/2 option in drafts this summer.

Jul 28 1:50pm CT

According to Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles, wide receiver Mike Evans arrived at training camp in "great shape." "Mike came back in great shape, just like he did a year ago," said Bowles. "He's a professional. He loves to play the game. He knows what time it is. He knows how to come back and do things the right way." The 30-year-old has spent his entire career with the Bucs since entering the National Football League as the No. 7 overall pick in 2014. He's had some potent seasons along the way. However, Evans is coming off one of the best seasons of his career, finishing the 2023-24 campaign by amassing 1,255 yards and 13 touchdowns off 79 catches. With Evans and Baker Mayfield continuing to build chemistry, the former may be in store for another stellar season despite being in the league for over a decade.
